The volunteers at Hearthside are some of the most caring individuals we've ever met. The litter was born several feet under a barn and the volunteers spent hours rescuing them. We worked mostly with Bonnie, and I can't rave about her enough. She is the most kind, gentle caring person who fights so hard for animals. Not only did she let us visit the kittens every week until they were ready for adoption, she is still always available, months later, for any questions we may have. I even found an abandoned baby bunny in danger and after asking her for advice, she adopted him, nursed him back to health and now they're best buds! We were originally considering adopting from a breeder but can't even express how much happier we are that we found a local shelter and saved two beautiful babies with the help of amazing volunteers. Most people start their search at Lollypop (which is also great) but you'll never regret supporting local, smaller shelters. Thank you for everything Hearthside!

The house is a cat loving dream, maybe there were about 70 cats when we visited. We ended up adopting a 3 month old fostered kitten from Kitten Kingdom, one of their many domains there for various cats of different ages and stages. There were lots of catios and the cats are generally given free range of the place. The staff and volunteers were great and helped my kids get acquainted with many of the cats. The adoption process was smooth and straightforward. The follow up was great and appreciated.

I ended up adopting a kitten, spay/neuter, vaccines, and microchip was included in the cat adoption fee. I started volunteering there recently and I am still in awe of how well the cats are treated, no cats are put down unless they are suffering. They also do literally everything possible to keep the cats happy and healthy. I have watched them treat an elderly cat with hyperthyroidism, spending money on two different surgeries to help him. You can tell how much the employees love these cats and how passionate they are.

They…read moreunderstand that i have a timid rescue dog and make sure I don't have to wait in the waiting room, where there may be other dogs. They have my dog step on the scale when she enters the building. From there we go immediately into a vacant exam room where we wait for the vet and vet tech. I left anouther vet practice who did not take the care of my dog seriously. The first vet I saw at this practice immediately wanted to Xray my dog's bad front foot. He found out she was walking on bone becasue the original bone break was not taken care of. Sad as that was, it also told the vet what medicines she needed to aviate the pain when she walked. I was with the other practice for over a year and, in addition to incorrectly diagnoses for a cancerous lump, they never botherer to pursue why by dog had an odd shaped front paw and why she favored it when she walked. I wish I could tell you the whole story of the cancer issues. Let's just say I was told that the vet tech at that proctice felt the lump and decided it was a fatty tumor. I was the one who insisted on a biopsy and , guess what. the tumor was cancerous. They were her doctors, her advocates. Yeh, right. The vet practice, that I won't name, is the one that's across route 96 from the dermatology building and in the same block as a paint story.

They always do a great job communicating expenses and treatment plans. My cat has been through a lot but I know he is always in good hands here. Knowledgeable, skilled, patient and very forward thinking, involving me as the client in the decision making process, and having an exemplary 'animals-first' approach to our pets' care. I'm a career dog handler across multiple countries and Dr. Fessler is right up there with the very best of the best vets I have ever, over a 30 year career, dealt with. I cannot recommend her more. I say again, don't let the aggressive, entitled reviews on here fool you, this is a professional and skilled practice, but it's not Walmart. Educate yourself, and don't expect to be spoon fed for zero effort on your own behalf. Step up.

All different types of short hair to long hair and many options of different colors and types of cats. The building is in a nice development with other community facilities. All the workers and volunteers here are very nice. For $60 we came home with a great loving cat with all his shots and he had been neutered, a bag of food, and various new toys.
