My husband's taken our dog for baths here at least 5 times. In the beginning, they used "tangerine" shampoo which was nice. However, on one occasion, our dog came home smelling of cheap perfume!! Are you serious?? In June, for the first time they couldn't cut his nails. We had to take him to the vet to have it done. The only positive experience I've had is shopping for our dog's gifts. Since he chews through all toys, their bones & treats were perfect for him.

Sleepy eyes on her way home!

Since he was young when we started, we first spoke with our vet to confirm they were okay with him going and under their guidance we planned his vaccines accordingly. Our vet also praised us for starting classes at an early age as these programs help lay down the foundation for a well-mannered and happy pup and also strength our bond. While participating in the puppy programs offered at My Dogs Got Class Javier has had early exposure to training and socialization. The trainers help to break down lessons into bite-sized chunks which makes it easy for us and Javi to absorb and remember. The incremental learning approach, focusing on name recall, collar/harness handling, and coming when called, is invaluable. We are confident that should any emergency situation ever occur, we are prepared to safely reunite with Javi. The trainers knowledge and informative guidance have built my trust in them. They make every session a joy and have helped us navigate any bad behaviors and offer us guidance on how to correct them. The socialization aspect is also fantastic; Javier gets to interact with other dogs and foster proper play behavior while a trained expert watches over. Our puppy's newfound skills are a testament to the effectiveness of the puppy programs offered at My Dogs Got Class. If you're looking to set your new puppy up for a lifetime of good behavior and happiness, the puppy programs at My Dogs Got Class is the way to go!

This review is definitely overdue. Caitlin is a phenomenal trainer. She has worked with me and my…read moredog, Bailey in both Private Sessions and in group classes. We have been learning from her for approximately two years. Caitlin is incredibly resourceful when developing and modifying training plans. She has even met us at Trexler Park to work on Bailey's skills. The last time we met at the park we worked on recall and then realized that Bailey had an abundance of energy. Caitlin suggested that we work on loose-leash walking skills instead (which meant that Bailey was able to learn while "burning off" some of her excitement and energy.) [Fun fact: Caitlin works with birds, cats, reptiles, etc, etc] I get very nervous initially when working with a trainer and one of my dogs. My self-talk is usually "why can't I do this the way the trainer is" and/or "I should have taught Bailey these skills before." First and foremost, Caitlin is very positive, encouraging and understands my level of "training anxiety." . And she also takes the time to understand the ever-changing home dynamics; including the relationship between Bailey and our other dog, Bella. Our most recent training was at a group class held in Trexlertown. Bailey was able to ultimately complete a "down" command with hand signals only. We have been practicing daily. Caitlin can be found on both Facebook and Instagram. This week, she demonstrated unique "Kong" recipes to keep dogs interested and working for their food. Recipes are on her blog. I trust Caitlin completely and appreciate her "focusing on the positive" with her canine (and human) clients.

I contacted Caitlin regarding training for my German Shepherd rescue who is 7 months old. After…read morecompleting the initial evaluation, I felt optimistic that she would be able to work with me to help train my puppy so I purchased her 7 session at-home one-on-one package. During that session she stated that my dog had anxiety which I believed could be true due to her unknown past. She had recommended supplements and a costly CBD oil. On the day of our first session, she called me at the time of our scheduled session and said she had brought along her dog as well as a dog she was board and training. She had not given me any prior notification that the dogs were along with her nor asked for my approval to bring them onto my property. For the first 15 minutes of the session, the dogs she brought along ran around my backyard and my dog (who is still warming up and settling in with new people and other dogs) was rightfully very timid and scared. She then asked me what we would be working on that day and I had voiced to her (in our evaluation session as well) that crate training was very important to me and for the safety of my puppy when leaving my home. She then commented that would require going in the house, where she brought the dogs into my home (once again without asking permission). The dogs continued to be a distraction to my dog who you could tell was incredibly stressed and uncomfortable, clearly unable to focus and train. At that time, she did remove the dogs from my house and brought them out to her car. At this point, we had about 10 minutes left in the session where she pivoted to a completely different subject and tried to train my dog who was still very uncomfortable and scared by what happened previously. She proceeded to make comments with no actual facts that my dog was acting that way because she is "in pain", "has a very weak back" and that her behavior is incredibly "abnormal". I rescued her from an extremely reputable German Shepherd Rescue where she had been examined by a veterinarian and deemed healthy for adoption. Leading up until the moment she and the other dogs arrived my dog was perfectly content and has shown no signs of pain or discomfort in the time I have owned her. I had started giving her the recommended supplements and CBD oil and had started noticing that she was having an easier time settling. She commented that she had noticed no changes in my dogs behavior and that I should start giving her more CBD oil -- once again, my dog was incredibly uncomfortable after the unfamiliar dogs were in our yard/home and her disposition showed that. After this extremely frustrating and disappointing session, I reached out to her to explain how I was dissatisfied by what had occurred during our training session and especially for the price of what her sessions cost. I also voiced how I felt as though the trust had been broken and that I did not believe she was the best fit for my dog and myself. I attempted to end the relationship amicably by requesting a partial refund since she had not fulfilled any services. She provided me a refund at the cost of one singular session (which now after doing further research is an astronomical rate). While I do not discredit that she has been in the business for quite some time, I regret not taking some of the reviews that have been written more seriously, as it appears others have had extremely similar situations where she has given a "medical diagnosis" regarding their pet's behaviors. During this short relationship, she made me feel as though there is something wrong with my dog and has caused us both an unnecessary amount of stress on top of financial loss.

As first-time dog owners, we tried our best to train Millie on our own, but it just wasn't cutting it. We constantly struggled with obedience and her inability to listen to us, intense pulling when we went on walks, jumping, getting mouthy - the list goes on and on. We felt defeated and insecure - but as soon as we talked with Jean and Linda at NJ Fix My Dog, we felt hopeful! They assured us Millie was the kind of dog that could be helped, and they'd be happy to step in.  Throughout Millie's 2 week bootcamp, we received frequent updates from Linda on Millie's progress, photos, and videos. We missed her but we knew she was in excellent care and learning so much everyday. After the 2 week bootcamp, Linda brought Millie home and we were in shock at how well-behaved, and well-mannered suddenly became. The day she came home, Linda spent over an hour with us going over what Millie learned and how to work with her going forward. She also gave us a full document with an assessment of Millie's overall behavior, how to continue to enforce what she learned, and how encourage her along the way.  Before bootcamp, we dreaded going for a walk with Millie because of how she behaved when she saw other dogs (pulling toward them, whimpering, getting anxious, etc.), and how she walked in general (tugging and zig-zagging the entire walk). Now she walks like an absolute DREAM! Right at our side, a nice little trot, ignores other dogs, people, squirrels - everything! We could walk her all day long now, and we look forward to all our walks! Millie used to ignore us when we called for her, or told her "no" if she was doing something we didn't like, but now her recall skills are excellent and she runs right over to us when we call her. She doesn't even try to attempt the bad behavior she used to do, like jumping, getting mouthy, etc., and instead happily relaxes. Her overall demeanor used to be just a little bit intense, always on the lookout for something to get into - but now she is so calm and seems at east with herself. Linda worked WONDERS! We learned so much about Millie through this process, and we truly feel comfortable with what Linda taught us to help Millie be her best self. We feel like we have the tools we need, and the confidence. We feel the support of NJ Fix My Dog now even after Millie is back home - we know Linda is just a call or text away if we need any help.

We were fully aware of what a puppy goes through at this age, however, we had never seen a puppy so independent/head strong before. Given we have two young daughters (9 & 5), we wanted to ensure our puppy established a solid behavior foundation. We found Jean & Fix My Dog after unsuccessfully working with a few different trainers online. Within the first 30 minutes of our session with Jean, we had already learned so much about both our new puppy's and our own behaviors. After the hour was over, we were very confident we had found the right place to help us with our puppy training. Given the current pandemic, we hoped to find a trainer that could not only help with the behavioral issues, but also socialize our pup well enough to other dogs, people, children, etc. As a result, Jean paired us up with Christy, a trainer who lives on a lot of land, has dogs and other animals, and plenty of people around to help socialize our pup. We spoke with Christy on the phone to go over her approach, felt great about it, came up with a list of behavioral focus areas, signed a contract, selected a day for Christy to come pick up our puppy, and off she went for 2 weeks! The training process was handled so well.. Christy kept us informed with photos, videos, and lots of daily updates. We were even able to do a few online video sessions to see our puppy and to ask questions about how the training was going. It was 100% clear that our puppy was getting the attention she needed and was being trained as part of a family and not as just another dog in a training facility. (SO IMPORTANT!) We were noticing tremendous progress with our puppy over videos after the first few days of training. When she returned home after the 2 weeks were up, it was almost as if we had a perfectly re-wired puppy. It was absolutely clear that the training was effective and our puppy now had a solid behavioral foundation to work with. Christy and her family were extremely loving with our dog, and were clearly able to address all of the behavioral points we asked for through positive reinforcement and appropriate correction practices. Upon her return, we received many instructional videos and a manual to keep us (owners) in line on how to maintain all of the great work put in place. If you were like us, seeking a trainer to help build a strong behavioral foundation for your puppy, I would HIGHLY recommend Christy @ NJ Fix My Dog. We simply could not have found a better situation both for us and our puppy.

I took my dog Orson to Brady, and the results are truly jaw dropping. My dog on the right side of the image, can walk around people dogs without reaction or even caring. Orsons confidence is day and night difference. We were all pretty anxious; worried about how everything would go once we returned home with him. The trainer Kylie, who met with us and handled the lesson wAs so thorough; answering all of our questions - some asked more than once- and teaching us what to do once we left with Brody. She really took her time with us, was patient and explained everything so well! Please extend our gratitude to her. Yesterday was a big day for all of us so we really just worked on basic commands with his prong collar and or his mini educator in our back yard. The kids and I took turns doing some short training sessions. He did really well and the anxiety over being able to create carryover from your facility to home started to lift. Today, my daughter and I took him for a walk through our town's "main street". The town is a bustling area; traffic, shopping, people on bikes, buses, mail men etc. We again used the prong collar and the mini educator. He was nothing short of a ROCK STAR! I can't even believe this is the same dog we dropped off to you guys. He walked beautifully... healing the whole way with little direction! At one point, I intentionally walked by a construction site that was fenced off and the fence had mesh on it. There were construction men walking right on the other side of the fence..... and SURPRISE.... Not a single reaction from Brody... he didn't even require redirection! After that we chose a bench in the busiest area and sat down with him... the bench was right next to the curb at the main intersection of two busy streets. Brody maintained a sit and stay for 10 min straight and immediately returned to position when corrected. At one point a man walked up to water a planter right next to us... and same... no reaction from Brody at all. He stayed in a down position when I told him to "leave it". I don't even know how to begin to thank you all. The change in Brody seems nothing short of a miracle and he is doing so much better than I ever hoped! Walking with him in town was actually a pleasure! I am so proud of him and his progress! We plan to take short trips out and about every day. If he continues to do really well, we are going to take him to an outdoor restaurant on Friday. I never imagined being able to do these things with Brody. Because of his old behaviors, just taking him to the vet was a source of anxiety. I always wanted Brody to be able to do these things because it would mean a better life for him and for us... you guys made that all possible! So, clearly I am rambling. Just wanted to say: THANK YOU ALL A MILLION TIMES OVER! Best, Heather Ericksen (and Family)

They had always been a challenge for previous groomers, but when we went to McFee's they had no problem and always came home looking beautiful. A few weeks ago I made an appointment for my remaining dog (his sister passed a few years ago), but before the appointment came, my sweet Rebel died after being ill for several weeks. The morning of the grooming appointment I saw it pop up on my calendar and realized I had never canceled it. So I called McFee's and spoke with a woman who was so kind on the phone (even though I know for a small business this left a hole in their schedule where another dog could have come in). But, she was completely understanding and was so comforting talking about how hard it must be and when we are ready to get another dog to come back. Today, I received in the mail a condolence card for our family signed with messages from all the staff. Our family is so touched! These are the special things that make a business truly excellent, if I could give them 10 stars I would. And I hope to be back soon.
