Very sad store. The stock itself was fine but the animal stock was very sad. There were numerous dead fish and the cichlids were very stressed. The tanks were filthy and not a staff member was in sight. All the animals except for the reptiles were in darkness. There were no lights for the poor animals. I was embarrassed that I purchased items for my pets from there. The only staff member present was a cashier until another one appeared after the line was incredibly long. Then the second cashier proceeded to use nicotine pouches while checking people out. Petco is a much better location id recommend going to them. read more

We have been taking our dog to the grooming for about a year and a half, we cautiously don't book a full haircut because we really want our dogs coat to grow out. We ask for just his paws and a trim on his butt area for sanitary reasons (which we happily pay whatever fee for). We picked him up and his tail had been trimmed which was NOT asked for after we highlighted exactly what we wanted. This is the before and after. We are truly upset because we were so proud of his beautiful tail. Hopefully the white grows back as it was but it will likely take about year and half we were offered a partial $16 refund but that won't help his hair come back. Very upset and we will not be returning. We were proud petsmart customers who told all of our friends how great the grooming was until today. read more

You only ever have one person working and you have to lineup down the treats aisle and because people do not want to block the access into the store and around the people lineup down the aisle. Well, when somebody cuts to the front of the line and your employee watches it, they are gutless and do absolutely nothing to interject and correct the problem. Went in for a nail cut and grooming staff was very rude in particular some one named Susanna. She and another employee were not willing to help or explain the different packages. They had an attitude and when another customer walked in we were told to move aside once we figure out what we want. Don't bring your dogs here !!!!! Scam additional charge for $15 "straight through" fee even though you have a fixed time appointment. Even though they don't have any dogs waiting for grooming unless you pay the $15 "straight through" they make you wait "up to 3 hours" to complete they grooming. In other words, they bump you for "walk ins" and other customers who don't pay the fee they make you wait in the store or parking lot for up to 3 hours. With all the news stories about PetSmart abusing and injuring dogs, etc., they care so little about their customers to run this obvious scam. One would think their Code of Business Conduct would not allow this. An appointment is not really an appointment. We made an appointment to bring my baby for a grooming. Upon getting here we answered and filled out all the necessary paperwork. To our surprise we were told that it would take about 4 hours for our dog to get groomed. It turned out to be about 6 hours before he was completely groomed. We were frustrated a bit but I guess it's part of the business. We just now hoping that the next time won't take that long. Store is well kept and it has everything...and I mean everything that your pet needs. For the most part employees are friendly and knowledgeable. read more

My dog has been groomed since I adopted her once a month at a Petsmart. I travel full-time as I am retired. I have been to countless different Petsmart franchises. I have never had an experience like I have had today at Corpus Christi If you have an older dog The company standard is two hours and under I have never had any of my dogs take longer than three hours. Until today the customer service is horrible. The attitude is close to pompous, and they create separation anxiety for the animals. This particular Petsmart has under minded Apache Junction, Arizona Jacksonville, Florida, Kalispell, Montana and many others. Do not take your dogs to be groomed at Corpus Christi. read more

Highly recommend NOT bringing your dog here for grooming. They rush through each service, skip steps, and EXTREMELY rough with smaller dogs. Absolutely the nicest groomer I've ever worked with! Susanna is way above and beyond!! Brought my Shih-Tzu in for a brush and bath, and she gave him the Royal treatment, including some dirty ears that were masking an ear infection. Took excellent care of him, way beyond what I could have expected, and gave me some tips for taking better care of his coat. She'll be my go-to person from now on. Today a petsmart groomer refused our schnauzer dog because she had mats around her legs (which is exactly why we needed to take her) and also because she didn't want to take a senior dog... mind you we adopted her from that exact petsmart store years ago and that day her hair was 10x worse and she was groomed that day there inside petsmart. I'm so disappointed and believe me when I say I'm letting everyone know petsmart in Corpus Christi refused my senior dog. we've always used petco because they always treat our girl with kindness and clean her up beautifully.. we decided to go with petsmart because they were able to schedule her for a sooner date.. never again. Her appointment was set at 6:00 so I know it was probably an excuse and they simply didn't want to deal with my dog. Pure laziness. read more

Very friendly employees always willing to help. Prices here are a bit to me expensive but sometimes you can find things that you can't find anywhere else. The staff is also very informative in giving you suggestions on what you can do with your dog and what you cannot, what you could try, and what you could do to solve the issue with your animal. It's always great to get suggestions or somebody's opinion or advice on things that you're ignorant about. read more

This week I spent over $60 on fish - glo tetras, guppies and algae eaters. And this week every single one has died. I called today to ask how to get replacements and the unsympathetic employee thinks simply saying "I apologize" means anything at all. Everyone says it, it's essentially required, but there was no true understanding of my situation nor a desire to rectify it. Am I saying bend over backwards and change policies to accommodate me? No, I'm not 'that guy.' But seriously I'm not made of money and being out $60+ doesn't sit well with me. Monday my first set of fish died within an hour of being released into the tank, after the 20 minute temperature adjustment bob that I myself asked about when I bought them. The woman who helped me was really nice and knowledgeable but offered no further input. Tuesday I went back for another set. I clarified further about transitioning them to my own tank and this second person told me "Remember there's a two week guarantee on all fish." Really?? This was news to me! She confirmed but said no more - no mention of dead fish stipulations... Moving on. The new algae eater was dead in the bag soon as I got home. My other fish were all dead by the next day. These fish were for my children, by the way, ages 5 and 6, and I can't tell you what a disappointment this has been for THEM. Why didn't anyone tell me the first time that the fish were guaranteed? Why didn't anyone tell me you have to stop what you're doing and bring the dead fish back in order to be given new ones? No, it's NOT like exchanging a shirt, it's an organic creature that's going to sit in a bag at my house and decompose so I can find a good time to take it back to the store -- FIVE DIFFERENT TIMES IN TWO DAYS. That would have been inconvenient enough but I would've done what I had to do, had I been PROPERLY INFORMED. Petsmart, I've always picked you over everywhere else and you've disappointed me completely. We bought all our dog food and supplies, cat food and supplies, turtle food and supplies from you, and we'll be going elsewhere now for our pet needs. Please remind your employees to treat your customers as individuals and not as just another person who did something wrong. Maybe you've heard it all before but I sure hadn't. Please also remind your employees to brief your customers properly about animal purchases and guarantees. Don't put your next customer in my position! read more

It's obvious they don't want to be there and they could not care less about customer service. This has been my experience every single time I've shopped there. Today I was harassed at the register by a customer who refused to social distance. When I asked the clerk for help, she refused. Her response was that she gets harassed too. Got it. I left my would-be purchases totaling $180, found the products I need on Amazon, and will have my grooming done at my vets office. When I go in I can always find an associate who can answer my questions or help me find something. I have a Siberian husky and a mini schnauzer. So my little schnauzer came out looking fantastic. A shorter summer version for the working dog cut and he smells great. Ears are cleaned very well. Was $40. My husky though, was $35. I paid for a bath and brush. Package Includes: Oxygen-infused bath Shampoo washing & blow dry 15-minute brushing Nail trim Ear cleaning, hair removal & flushing (if needed) Scissoring feet & pad shaving Sanitary trim I can tell she was brushed and blow dried. I am upset though because they didn't do those little trimmings that I expected them to do. I actually took my dog there specifically for those trim details. I'm sad I paid for a service I didn't receive. They also wouldn't let me inspect my dogs before I paid so wtf is with that. They just seem to keep dropping the ball and it upsets me. read more

I took my dog for a bath and brush and yet they tell me they can't trim all her nails even though it's part of the package deal, they didn't brush her teeth at all as she still had her food in her mouth, I was also charged for something I never said I wanted and over all if I ended up paying $46 I expect my dog to have all her nails cut, her teeth brushed and get every aspect I pay for. 1-10-2020: Thought Petco and Pet Smart would except a walk-in grooming service, so I took my dog to Petco. They told me that they would but the dog tag was not enough, they needed to see the shot records. Went to Pet Smart, they didn't have any openings, and would also need to see the dogs 'Records'. -- okay After leaving I called back to Pet Smart and made an appointment for Sunday at 3pm. Then called my vet to have them gather my dogs records. 1-11-2020: Went to vet to get a copy of my dogs 'Shot Records' 1-12-2020: Went to Pet Smart, arrived at about 2:40 pm, walked the dog in, realizing I had left the dogs records in the car, told the cashier (Ms. May) that I'd be right back. Retrieved the paper work and entered again, handing the records to the cashier (Ms. May) and stating I had a 3pm appointment. Ms. May looked at the paperwork my vet had given me and said she couldn't see the 'Rabies/Distemper' shot. So I took the paper back and showed her where it was, then circled it with a pen (showing the 'date' given; the charge code; and the description). Ms. May then told Pet Smart still could not except it because it did not show an 'EXPIRATION' and /or an indication as to 'HOW LONG IT WAS GOOD FOR'! I told her "you got to be kidding me, all rabies shots are good for '1' year, and the paperwork clearly shows the shot(s) were given in August of 2019 [5 months ago]". Ms. May said "some are good for three years." I told her, "well, that makes it even worse, either way, it doesn't matter, her shots were given only 5 months ago". Ms. May said she still could not except it. ---- So I canceled the appointment and stated to walk out. Then I went and found a store manager on the other side of the store. I talked to Mgr. Emily and ask if she was over the 'grooming section' as well and she said that they have their own manager(s) but she would help me. So I explained what transpired up until this point. She took my paperwork and went in the back. Emily came out, said she called over there and that they should have known better, and that they would now groom the dog IF I was still interested. I told Mgr. Emily that I was NOT INTERESTED any longer because I no longer trusted Ms. May to be able to do the job she was hired. Ms. May gave me the impression that maybe she had been fired from every burger flipping and pizza job in town and grooming dogs was the only job she could do so she had limited exposure dealing with people - AND IT SHOWED! I tried calling the '800' the manager gave me to file a complaint but was put on hold for about :07, and then hung up! We all know nothing would happen anyway so why bother. As far as Pet Smart, the only contact I will except is if you notify me that MAY has been terminated, otherwise DON'T BOTHER ME. Either way I still am not coming back into your store. read more

THIS IS A REVIEW OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS PETSMART Do not make the mistake of taking your fur baby to this awful place to be groomed. My cocker spaniel was 8 1/2 months old around Christmas 2018. I wanted to get her first 'cocker cut' so she would look her best for our family Christmas gathering. From the time I got her, I have taken her everywhere I possibly could with me. She always was very excited to meet new people, to the point we used to apologize to people at times because my pup was so friendly she thought everyone wanted to pet her and would be almost relentless at times if people didn't automatically talk to her. I scheduled her appointment and took her in. I had a hesitant feeling about leaving her, but figured I was just experiencing separation anxiety because she is always with me. When we returned to pick her up I excitedly went in hoping to see her all groomed and pampered. In stead, she was whimpering as soon as she saw me and couldn't get to me fast enough. I thought she was just happy to see me and we headed home. Shortly after Christmas we went to Lowe's, which had always been a favorite place of my puppy's because so many people always talked to her and gave her a quick pet, especially some of the employees who were known to even have a treat for her most days. We were shocked as the first person approached her and she was in her normal excited state as the approached but the minute they reached to pet her she literally cowered and ran behind my legs. I thought it was awfully odd, but thought maybe she just didn't get a good vibe from that person. We continued to have the same reaction out of her even when an employee that we were very familiar with who always pet her and she always ran to. Fast forward close to a year and a half later and my baby is still terrified of people other than her immediate family and a few extended family members and very close friends. I do not know what that horrible, evil girl did to my puppy, but I know she forever changed her personality and took part of her joy out of life. She sill gets very excited when she sees people but if the come in her direction she begins to look fearful and will climb over whatever is necessary to get away if anyone tries to pet her. I didn't allow myself to post a review initially because I hoped it was really just a phase and she would return to her normal demeanor but I think it is safe to say after 15 plus months that the damage done and fear instilled in her is a permanent change and it infuriates me! I hope whatever cruel treatment she gave my baby returns to her 10 fold! What the heck are they doing employing people to work with other peoples animals and how does no one realize that the treatment of the puppies is disgusting and their staff obviously is not above hurting the animals they are being paid to 'care for'? DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!!! PLEASE DO NOT SUBJECT YOUR FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND TO THE GROOMERS OR ANY OTHER PART OF PETSMART IF YOU WANT MY OPINION!! ALl the Glo tetras are diseased.Pleistophora hyphessobryconis is the official name of what they have. The tetras killed all of the fish in my aquarium within 7 days by infecting them. And calling the store the employees KNEW that the fish were infected and sold them anyway. Im calling coorporate. read more

Great selection of specialty foods, treats, habitats, toys, and supplies. I get lost in time in there looking around at all the wish list items I want for my pets and looking at the fish, reptiles, etc. I like to look at the pets they bring in for adoption or watch the training classes they have. Until fairly recently, there has always been sufficient staff to help find items and answer questions. It has become harder and harder to find this help now. Cutbacks, I guess. I've never brought my pets in for grooming so I can't speak to that. read more
