We went into Petsmart to get to Banfield Vet to take our cat for a periodic checkup. Banfield was great as always, and asked us to walk around the store while we wait for our cat to be treated. Then we encountered someone who told us that they were closed, and were trying to stock shelves, and need to go sit on the benches at the back of the store near Banfield. My wife explained, but she was having none of it. She asked us again to go sit down. I couldn't believe my ears. We were not even remotely close to being in their way and were about 50 feet away from her. A real control freak. Why would Banfield ask us to shop around the store, only to be told to go sit down at the back by an overzealous Karen employee of the store? They need to fix this, as it will happen over and over. Not going back to shop ever again at Petsmart no matter what. read more

I took my 3 year old rescue dog here & she was put in puppy training because she never had it before. She was the only dog in the class for 6 weeks because no one else signed up. Her trainer Stephanie is the best; she has 2 dogs of her own & she really made a difference with my dog at the end. I highly recommend her for training. read more

I can not speak to grooming practices, as I have cats and I would not subject anyone to grooming them because they are horribly spoiled. That being said, they like certain toys and as they rip them apart and choose not to play with alternative choices, I am always looking for replacement toys. Lots of choices for cat toys, and wet food, treats and other items I need so there is not a mutiny. My husband cannot understand how two rescue cats that cost 150.00 a piece are in charge of our house and yet it is true. Toys end up in the water bowls , the toilet the shower or lost in a black hole never to be found along with my bath scrunchie, several socks and who knows what else. Went to take golden retriever to be groomed first time. Not aggressive, but rolled over in submission, they refused to groom her. Called three hrs before appointment asking to bring her in to see how she would do. Because she rolled into her back they refused to see her. In experienced. I've been getting coupons for grooming which includes nail trimming. The smartest thing I've done is to stop doing it myself! My chihuahua Penny hates it! The groomers here put her at ease somehow! When I pick her up not only does she smell great from her bath she sheds less even as a short haired chihuahua and her nails are done! They make it very clear they don't like their jobs, people or even the animals. KJ and Daisy are the worst of them so if you don't want your dogs to be traumatized, especially for their first puppy grooming like I was about to do, take them else where. Wish I could give zero stars. I have given PetSmart Grooming in Cape Coral several chances as I have had several minor issues in the past however today was the last time. My goldendoodle went in for grooming. Prior to leaving her a groomer looked at her and told my husband she had matting around her ears and some on her chest however it wasn't bad and they could work with her. My husband just asked to leave her hair as long as possible and was told it shouldn't be a problem. A few hours later Petsmart called and let us know our dogs were ready to be picked up, no mention of any issues. My husband picked up our 2 dogs and our goldendoodle Sccy was completly shaved, very uneven with some parts higher and others shorter expecially on her face plus the tip of her tail still has full fur but the rest of the tail shaven almost bald, very odd. Her last appoinment with the same groomer was less then 1 month ago, no reason they should need to shave her and if they did a courtesy call would have been appreciated. It seems to me that they were too busy with the holiday rush to take the time and properly groom our dogs. Carmin G groomed both dogs in the same time it normally takes when we take only one of our dogs for grooming, which I guess should have been a red flag. I called to speak with the grooming manager (believe her name was Arial but not 100%) to find out why she was shaved and why no one bothered to let us know. Not to mention my dogs face being uneven and odd tail left half shaved and half full hair. The manager was very derogatory toward me, basically blaming my husband. I tried to discuss the issues with her however she was very rude, actually sounded like she was laughing on the other end of the phone. I then requested to be removed from their system as I would never been using them again not just due to how Sccy was groomed but mainly due to the managers attitude toward the situation. She told me she was more then happy to do so, being flip and rude. Within 5 minutes the grooming manager already locked my account, guess it was easier to lock and account and loose clients then be proactive and call a client to ask permission or inform regarding changes to Sccy's grooming. I did call back to find out why Sccy's tail was left half shaved/half full and to question the uneveness of her face and body as I was never able to ask during my first call. The manager was not available, I spoke with Megan. Megan was very nice and informative and I did appreciate her efforts in explaining the reason for leaving the tail half shaved. She offered for us to bring Sccy in and fix if we didn't like the the look, I never got to discuss the uneven shave as she was willing for us to come in and have Sccy's cut fixed. It was nice to have someone explain and sincerely try to help. Mistakes happen, miscommunication happens as well and all the manager needed to do was have a little compasion and try to help. If it would change my mind on taking my dogs back or not I am not sure, but it would not have left me so upset with PetSmart Grooming and determined never to go back from grooming or shopping in general. I did try to reach out to the stores general manager to discuss this issue, mainly how the grooming manager had acted as nothing he could do regarding Sccy's appearance. The manager was not available, however the person I did speak with at the main store was very professional and would let the manager Branddon know about the call. read more

Just moved to area and took our boys for grooming as we used to use the PetSmart in our prior location. Daisy and Savannah did an AMAZING job and they both look sooo adorable. The girls and staff was very sweet and I had no issues with the service. Strong believer majority of reviews are done by upset unsatisfied customers and the world needs more satisfied and positive feedback and reviews out there. Give praise when it's due! If I could give zero stars I would. We recently moved to Cape Coral and had not had time to locate a new groomer for our dog. Since we used Banfield, we thought we'd give the grooming salon a try. Brought our little 20lb Wire Fox Terrier in December for a full groom. Picked him up a few hours later, paid and went on our way. Fast forward to February, we went online and made an appointment for the same thing. 10 minutes later we get a call telling us that our dog has been placed on a list for being aggressive and cannot be groomed at PetSmart. None of them! Not just that location. He's been banned from all PetSmart salons. Seriously?? He's a 20lb very friendly dog. He's 2 and has been getting groomed since he was 12 weeks old. No groomer has ever had a problem with him! This is what you get with inexperienced groomers who are apparently unable to handle small dogs. My biggest issue with this is that they didn't even bother to tell us and why ban him from all locations?? I will never enter another PetSmart or Banfield again. We ended up finding a new groomer a few days later who did an amazing job on our boy and said he was a complete sweetheart and gave her no trouble at all! My husband & I were browsing around, not looking for anything in particular when we stumbled upon a brush that we bought online via Chewy.com, which was priced at this Petsmart for $53.99. We bought the brush for about $10. I thought that was a bit weird, so as we exited, I verified the amount I paid using Chewy & was right, I got it on sale, but it's retail price is a whopping $15... definitely not $54. So I decided to check out the Petsmart website. The Petsmart website has the item in question posted for $12.83. TWELVE dollars!! And the store is trying to dupe people into buying it for $54. Now that I've had this eye opening experience, we will NEVER go back to that store. Someone from corporate should do some looking into this place. Something is fishy and it's not the fish. The store is organized, not the most hygienic (the floors needed to be mopped), and the staff was fairly decent. The only problem I had with the store was the cashier. She was a bit rude and kind of obnoxious. I don't know if she was trying to be funny or if she was just having a bad day but I was not amused. I actually think it was more ignorance than anything. Long story short, she made fun of my brother for a question he was asking, had a bit of an attitude with my Mom when she was trying to give our phone number for rewards points, and kept making side comments that were supposed to be funny. She ended up just making our visit awkward and uncomfortable. The rest of the staff was nice but there was very few of them and like I said, the place wasn't the most clean. read more

Took my dog in before a move up north for nail trim. The tech said his duclaw was digging into paw pad and needed veterinary attention. Banfield was wonderful. $70 later the vet said the groomer could have taken care of the duclaw and all the other nails were pretty long as well. Groomer did a very lazy, poor, rush job and obviously has no idea what they are doing. I made them refund me for grooming because I wasn't going to pay the vet and the groomer for the same thing. This was a horrifying experience for my babies and I . I have a German Shepard and a Siberian Husky . The German Shepard is kinda hard to work with but my Siberian Husky is usually calm and loving . (He is my emotional support animal so he was trained to be that way). At first I was excited, I was getting both the wash and brush and loved the description given so I got them in as soon as possible . Initially when I brought them the girls were nice but didn't seem fond of taking care of them . This was my first time ever taking them to be professionally groomed so I didn't think too much of it . I had left them there thinking they were in good hands . Now when I was called to come pick them up that's when red flags started popping up . My dogs ran to me but not in an I miss you way , it was a "I'm frightened" type of way. I had my boyfriend take our German Shepard to the car because he gets really excited and likes to bark . But I kept my husky because like I said before he was trained to be calm and I didn't think there would be an issue . As soon as I got him and started walking over to pay my poor baby is literally screaming and pulling me as much as possible to get out of the store. I even had another woman try to console him at the register but he was so distraught he kept going . I have NEVER seen my dog act this way in any setting! My husky did not calm down until we stepped out of that store and when we got in the car he immediately curled up into a ball on the floor of my back seat shaking . I was crying myself because as I said before I've never seen my puppy act this way . He's very loving and sweet and doesn't give a hard time not even with baths or cutting his nails. It makes me think, what the hell was done to him to make him this afraid of that place! Not only that on the way home I can smell them from my back seat . They were both still wet and smelled the same way they did when I dropped them off . Their nails were botched and they look like they weren't even touched with a brush . ALSO, they cut my huskies hair! He's a short haired Siberian!!!!! This was not asked for!!!!!! I will be calling corporate about this . DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE ! read more

Had an appointment to get my dog groomed at 2:30. Arrived at 2:30 she had never been before so she was nervous and I wanted to wait for her. When 15 minutes passed and she hadn't been brought back I asked them about it and they told me it would be $10 extra for express service. What the hell? If somebody has a 2:30 appointment they should be seen at 2:30 PM and not charged extra for express service. I will never bring my pet there to be groomed again. read more

The exquisite brand wheat clumping cat litter is nearly as good as the worlds best brand and far superior to the arm and hammer brand. I use to like the Martha Stewart brand of dog harnesses, collars and leashes but they've been replace with Ellen's and are far pricier and not as nice. Took my dog there to get a trim. $40.00 and a couple hours later they call and say she's ready to be picked up. I thought to myself "Awesome"..... I get there and the dog looks great, the cut was great... I paid and off we went. Well, on the way home I let the windows down cause she likes to hang her head out the window, as dogs do... Then it started... The hair started flying all around me and in my car.... I have black interior and let's just say hair was everywhere. This could be prevented by giving the dog a bath after the cut. So drove home to bath the dog so the hair didn't get all over the house. Then jumped back into the car and headed to the car wash.... Had to pay another $25.00 to get the car cleaned... So went to Walmart and got groomers kit and do it myself now, saving money for FUN stuff.... read more

Terrible groomers at this location. They do not follow directions on preferred cuts and when you ask them to correct, they refuse. The unprofessional attitudes in the grooming salon sent me directly to the store manager to demand a reduced grooming fee for an unsatisfactory cut on my little guy. I had asked Stephanie where the demand collars where and she discriminated my dog and I. Do NOT get your dog groomed here. Took my little dog in to get a cut, they told me fine 3 hours. Got a call about an hour and 45 minutes later saying they were finished. Great. Got there and the dog looked good. Nice and trim. They told me he had no problems. I noticed he was shaking his head a lot but they told me he was just getting used to his new hair. Sounded legit. Thought nothing more about it. Cut to two days later when I took him to the dog park and noticed both of his ears bleeding after he got in the water. Turns out the cut the tips off both ears and I'm letting my dog run around a sess pool of other dogs with 2 open wounds on the sides of his face. 0 stars if I had a choice and they better hope it doesn't get infected. read more

My dog has a grooming phobia and becomes anxious in the extreme whenever this need arises. I have had little success with grooming UNTIL we met HARLEA. She must be a "dog whisperer" as she is able to handle my petrified girl. Harlea takes her time, talks my girl through the process and is very gentle with her. We have followed Harlea to any PetSmart location so that my girl can have the most caring and positive experience available. Highly recommend her and thank you Petsmart for having her in your employ. According to the PetSmart website, dog nail trims are a walk-in service. I brought my Shepard mix to the location on NE Pine Island Cape Coral. I checked in with the lady at the desk and she said it would be about 25 minutes, asked my dog's name and stated that when the other groomer was finished she would overhead page us. Okay, no problem. So we waited in the store for 30 or more minutes, sitting right outside the grooming salon. When the other groomer came out, they helped another customer, took a few phone calls. I went back into the salon during a pause in the activity. WE WERE NEVER OVERHEAD PAGED. I politely asked again if they could trim my dog's nails. She asked if I had her rabies vaccine records. Well, no. It didn't state that on your website. She asked if someone at home could snap a photo and send it over. I said no. I said "It would have been nice to have been told this when I first checked in over 30 minutes ago. I could have brought it." Very poor customer service and lack of communication. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I'm a loyal customer until recently. I'm not even a person to write reviews until now. I was taking a look at the hamsters when I noticed two in the lower tank weren't moving, and upon further inspection found they were obviously deceased and very well rotting. At this point I had already fallen in love with the hamster in the tank above theirs, and I figured I'd give her a good life so I adopted her. Only to have gotten home and realized she had wet tail. The store associates didn't say anything about her being sick or even about the other two dead ones when I pointed them out. The success rate for survival is slim and I couldn't make it back to the store in the day, so I treated her what I could until she passed away very quickly after. I am heartbroken and when I called to inform about it, one of the associates Chris was beyond rude and stated they "didn't sell sick animals" when quite frankly at this point, they're trying to sell dead ones. He also said I "should've brought it back" when I haven't even got the chance before she passed away. He hung up on the phone call with a "k" and was bitter and unprofessional. I wish to god I got photos of those dead babies to share. My friend might have some because I know we were both appalled, but until further or due my word is all I have and my dead hamster. I was offered no sympathy or even a refund. This place obviously doesn't care for the well-being of their animals or their jobs. Thank you for reading if you did, it means a lot to me. The other guy needs a Wambulance called. I don't know what you think happens when dogs are groomed or bathed but it takes time. It's not the same as a human. And you don't know how many other dogs were there that you can't see. Or if they were on break or what, so don't judge. And accidents happen.
