If you live out in Bedford this might be worth the trip. Everything else is out there so the proverbial "killing two birds with one stone" would definitely be happening. Funny though, I was really looking forward to what this PetSmart had to offer. Being from the states I'm used to the large warehouse feeling of most places. But the difference is the Petsmart where I'm originally from was less than a 5 minute drive. Now you really have to travel out just to get there and if you're just going to see if they carry your brand of food only to find out they don't it can feel like a waste of time. Luckily I had a friend in tow that was looking for a new cat tree so it wasn't a total waste of time for me. As with most warehouse type shopping experience everything is going to be slightly cheaper and you'll probably have lots of options to choose from but again if you're just going for one thing: Meh. There wasn't anyone there (customer wise) when we were perusing for cat tree's. I don't think this particular location has caught on just yet so the employees seemed overly eager to help us. Two of us vs five of them = too much customer service. But they seemed nice and really I don't blame them if they are having to stare at the windows all day at the empty parking lot. If they put a Costco out there, business would probably be mad hopping. Get your 50 pounds of ground beef for you and your 150 pound bag of food for your four-legger! read more

Greeted as soon as you step in the door. I do not like where the carts are stored as I feel it can be a little overwhelming when you have your pet with you and you are trying to manage getting a cart, holding the leash, making sure the doors don't close and on top of that that - my dog getting excited because someone has a treat waiting for her. Other than that, the store is great! They are very welcoming of all breeds of dogs, which is nice. Price wise it can be expensive, but if you follow their social media and have signed up for the rewards card the sales can be AWESOME! read more

I went to this store to buy aquarium plants that were on sale. When I inquired about the plants the sales lady stated that there shipment was coming in next week. Then she went to confirm this with her manager. She returned and stated they were not getting any plants in and I would have to another store if I would like the plants. I should not have to travel to different store. Now the staff was nice and it was not her fault. read more

An "easy to get to and park" location for my family. They have "clean-up" stations around the store (good for my dog who gets excited on every visit), great deals on healthy liver treats and a broad selection of food choices. I'm going to check out their grooming service this month...its a place I like to shop with friendly staff and the right mix of products and services. read more

I was actually told 4 times to "look myself". and another employee ventured "don't come here on Friday nights we are super understaffed" my 3 experiences here were nightmares. I just bought some fish and aquarium supplies and feeder rats from PetSmart. The prices were far better than the other large chain pet store in the HRM Area. The one staff member i spoke to in fish seemed to know their stuff. The selection of fish wasn't as large as i hoped, but a fish that was $4.99 at another retailer was $1.99 here. This is a great pet store if you drive, and live in the Bedford area. I know the bus service does go to the area, but not sure on the time service. I'm giving this store a 4 stars for its great customer service. As soon as I grab a cart, and walk into the store, I'm always greeted warmly. The staff are only to eager to help and are knowledgeable. Some staff even share their own stories of being a pet owner. I don't give this store as a whole 5 stars due to the prices. If your pet(s) eat regular store brand foods, stick to your grocery store. But, needless to say, this store does carry a lot of selection and variety if you need it. I've never used their grooming section of the store, so I can't really comment. I do see lots of folks bringing their dogs in for grooming. Perhaps it too is good service? read more

The groomers manager is very rude and inconsiderate I would never take my dogs there. The groomer always did an awesome job but I don't want to run in to her, so I had to take my 2 dogs somewhere else. read more

I think Pet Smart is only in business for the money. They do not have a care in the world regarding their animals. I went to adopt a cat. You MUST use their vet, you must use their everything. I have 2 acres of treed land. I have had cats for over 50 years. We seem to be at the vet's office for the smallest little things. All of our animals are treated like kings and queens. To adopt or "buy" a cat you have to be approved. After waiting for an employee to return from lunch I had an application to fill out. It had the most ridiculous questions on it. I answered them all. I handed the application to a staff member. He looked at it and told me I could not get a cat! Why ? I said. Because you say you are going to let the cat outside! Dear Lord! Cats belong outside not cooped up in a house or apartment. Our vet has told us our cats live so long because they live off the land when the weather is good. Squirrels are a big part of their diet. Not store bought food with tons of crap in it. I will never accept their rules or shop there ever again. I have many animals so they just lost lots of business. Never shop here people, it is all about the money! I went to Pet Value and adopted one there. I can use my own vet, if the cat gets sick in the first six months they will pay the vet bill. The application was quick and simple. It took about 15 minutes before I left the store with a beautiful kitten :-) Pet Value is where to shop. Ban Pet Smart as there is no value in their business!
