Great staff great variety great service. Would highly recommend to anyone. The adoption events are awesome too.

Too many animals - even though I made an appointment. Inattention led to my dog getting stressed out in the kennel and getting his jaw stuck trying to chew the kennel. Very traumatic. read more

Super clean! All of the animals look extremely well cared for. The employees were super nice and didn't mind helping.

had 2 dogs to be groomed yesterday. groomer discussed cutting for one dog, not the other. There was no one else there. Figured cutting was discussed and would be applied to both dogs. My one dog was fine, my westie came out almost bald, you can see her pink skin. It's 20 degrees and my poor dog came out with barely any fur. Common sense should have been used and obviously wasn't read more

Attitudes is what could improve! I've never shopped at PetSmart before and never will again. The cashier as well the "manager" were SO rude. I also had the "added bonus" of having TWO stink bugs in my bag. My money is better spent at Chewy, Target or Pet Super Market. read more

No motivation to assist customers and no knowledge about pet products. Rude on top of that.

The grooming department is super unprofessional, I took my dog today and from the moment I walked in both of the girls gave us a weird look, and than after I left my dog a girl came saying that my dog was being aggressive when my dog never does that whenever she's taking baths, if you are a professional you should know how to treat a dog and how to make them calm, my dog is very friendly to everyone, I do not recommend getting this service !!! read more

PetSmart did a wonderful job with my little Yorkie! She looked absolutely beautiful! Thank you!! I was so afraid to have her groomed because of my baby that was killed by Callie's last September!! Again, thank you!! read more

I stopped by to inquire about a nail trim. I have used this grooming service off and on over the years. It has a different vibe and different staff now. Unfortunately, on a previous visit I witnessed a groomer fussing at a scared pup. I could see her through the glass door but she did not see me. She was reprimanding a dog for no good reason. The poor creature didn't understand. I could hear her even though the door was closed. Groomer's have a tough job---I get it...but they need to know when to step away and take a breath to regain their patience and not to take it out on the animal. I'd rather them not do a nail trim or a service than put my dog through a negative experience. After witnessing that moment, I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. I walked in for a nail trim the other day after one of the groomer's had encouraged me to bring my dog by any time. I didn't expect her to be taken on the spot, but decided to inquire. I stood in front of 3 groomers and no one greeted me, no one said, "Be right with you." Nothing. I stood there for nearly a minute while 2 of the 3 talked to each other and completely ignored me. I had spoken to one of the pups on the table being groomed..and waited patiently to be greeted. No such luck. As that same groomer fussed at the small dog on her table to sit still...I realized that was my cue to leave. I'm done. They've lost my business for good. read more

Kelsey did an incredible job on our Hank a 2 year old Bernedoodle. She groomed him exactly how I asked her too. He is clean and well brushed, the haircut is perfect! I am so happy that I took him to PetSmart to be groomed. We will definitely return to Kelsey for another haircut when the time comes. read more

The grooming department is very unprofessional in both their customer service and the grooming. Do not book an appointment weeks before and then have them to call 30 minutes before and cancel it. With a lame lie for an excuse. Terrible!!! read more

I will not take my golden doodle back. $72 for a haircut that was not good at all. I asked for him not to be shaved, but take the puppy hair off and give him a good trim because his hair was getting really thick. They completely shaved him. My advice, spend the extra money and take your dog elsewhere. read more

Great grooming services. Have used them a few times. My dog likes being clean and fresh! Or maybe that's more about me!!! Vast supplies of pet needs. Helpful in answering pet inquiries. I'd recommend them! read more

Very knowledgable staff, fully stocked store. Great prices on furbabie toys and very good selection. My pomeranian has a favorite toy, Mr. Jack, and we have to find another one..he wore this one out, this makes #3. Still looking..but the staff told us where one might be. Would recommend this store to anyone with furbabies. read more

PetSmart - Petsmart - Pet Stores Near Me - Alcoa, Tennessee

So we drop-off our dog, first problem lady eating her food on dog table (disgusting) I see a problem when a dog gets groomed dogs will smell the food and not sit still! Naturally not sit still! Smelling food !we had a appointment scheduled 2 weeks prior and was told super busy today, dog could be there all day, why make appointment if it doesn't matter? Are they talking walk ins? Or are they taking breaks throughout the day eating on the grooming tables! SO IT GET WORSE! you call to see if your dog is ready and your told they have booked 3 dog in the same hour with the same groomer? Wtf !!!! So 5 plus hours for a groom? Why over book? Called weeks before for a appointment!!!!! My little dog is 10 read more

One cashier 15 people in line. Another employee on the floor. Needs better staffing.

Took my 2 yorkies in for a grooming. One needed a full haircut while I only wanted a face trim and potty patch on second. I was charged the same price for both (full price). When I called and asked for prices, I was told there was a difference UNTIL I reveiled I was charged the same price for a lesser service.. the young lady immediately backtracked her story and gave me "extra" charges for hair at feet being trimmed, etc. remember I only wanted a facial trim and potty patch. I won't go back!!! read more

Very poor customer service. Would not take an unopened bag of dog food. Had to drive to Knoxville where they were very happy to help us and return for a credit read more

I went in on 5/13/20. Not one of the employees were wearing masks. Even the cashier did not wear a mask. Yes, they put lines on the floor for people to keep distance from each other, but without reminders or enforcement, they are basically invisible. I wore my mask and sanitized everything once I got to the car. I won't go back. They definitely don't have their customer's or employee's best interests in mind so blatantly ignoring this virus. read more

One person at register. 10plus in line. No one working fish department. Would have spent over $100, but due to lack of staff just bought de chlorinate for water changes. Definitely not my favorite place. read more

Excellent help finding my fish, Trippie Redd the best food option. My betta has never been more active and excited! The workers were quick to help me with my shopping needs. We also purchased my great dane, Wrigley, some food in hopes of making his stench less potent and to prevent him for shedding a dog sized portion of hair a day! Will keep updated. read more

It's always fun to go into Petsmart and see everyone's dogs having such a great time. However I own a bird and only need to get food every couple of months. It is very hit or miss whether they will have my food in stock. A lot of times it was a wasted trip and then I have to go back or make a trip to Knoxville to buy the food. It also takes a lifetime to get checked out. It's nice having a Petsmart close to home but it doesn't serve its purpose if I can't get what I need and also can't get in and out. This is not Walmart after all! read more

Not impressed. I was told my Havanese could not have her ears trimmed or her nails cut because she was "out of control." She has been getting groomed every 6 weeks since she was a puppy (2 years old now) and no one has ever mentioned anything of the sort. I was still charged full price however. I recommend Cally's in Alcoa. read more

My little dog Jack and I visit here every Saturday. He cannot wait to go into the store to see all of his friends. The store staff knows his name and always stops to greet him. The prices beat all the other big box stores in Blount County. With having 6 cats and a dog to feed this is a must. read more

We liked this store initially. When my oldest dog was you get she was vey shy and some of the staff members seemed to really go out of their way to make her feel comfortable. So much so I had started using their vet devices. But the day I took her for a nail trim at the grooming center changed a lot for me. Instead of picking her up and putting her at eye level they had her sitting in the floor hovering over her with the clippers. She knew what those were because I had been trimming them at home. She hated it and so I thought an experienced groomer would be less stressful. Well I was wrong. The girl grabbed my pups paw and yanked it toward her.. No comforting words or petting to let her know she could trust her .. Just "gimme that paw". Well my pup didn't like that and jerked her foot back. The girl them proceeds to put a tighter grip on her, yank it forward and snip without even checking to see where the clippers were. You guessed it, blood! I stood up and said "that's it. We're done here." The girl tried to tell me that it's normal for them to bleed when you clip their nails. I couldn't believe it. We only go there now if we need some specialty type item that we can't find at TSC or any of the other stores in town. Even less so now that there is a Pet Supplies Plus near my work. Every time we have gone there for some particular item they've been out of it or stopped carrying it from the last time we bought it so I have pretty much stopped going. I agree with the other reviewer about food choices. The few I would consider feeding are way overpriced here and the rest is just junk full of fillers or questionable ingredients that are always being recalled. I'm giving them two stars just because they do have a few nice people left but apparently once you dog is no longer a "puppy" they don't seem nearly as numerous or willing to approach you. We never even get asked if we need help. I suspect their disappearance is because my two dogs are now too old to try to sell me the puppy vet packages or training classes. read more

The staff acted like they loved my puppy, so I loved them right back. Kosmo the havanese had his toes trimmed and all went well. Good selection of stylish collars and the Ellen D line of pet items are too, too cute. I signed up for the vet services offered onsite and would have to say, do the math! Not sure I wouldn't be happier with Small Animal, which my daughter uses. read more

You must be very careful when you are shopping here. Every item is in the wrong place, so if you don't want surprises at the register, make sure to read every single tag in the immediate area of the item you wish to buy in order to find the correct price. When my husband goes alone, he ends up coming back with a $40 litter box he swore was $32 or a $25 scratch pad he says he thought was $10. read more

Very organized and friendly staff. I was politely greeted by a female worker. She seemed busy stocking but immediately stopped when she saw my mother-in-law and I walk in to ask if we needed any help. I've been to a few a PetSmart in other states and the employees always seem informative and helpful. This store has a genuine southern hospitality feel. read more

The employees at this store are incredibly rude and tonight was the very last time that I will ever step foot in this store. My husband and I were checking out trying to secretly get a betta fish tank for one of our daughters, while our our kids looked at the fish. We spent $105, which is a typical visit for us since we own two dogs, 3 cats, 3 bearded dragons, a ton of fish and many rabbits. My daughter has been trying to decide on what pet she wants to save up for to go in a tank in her room. I told her she could take 4 of the care sheet pamphlets with her so we could read them and see what was needed to care for each animal to make a good choice. We were the only people in line and the kids were not alone for more than a few minutes at most. An employee came over to the line escorting my kids and saying they shouldn't be unsupervised and said they were tearing up things. All of them denied it and it doesn't sound like something my kids would do. My daughter that was picking out the pamphlets was crying and said she had taken them all from her. She was very snide and rude, so I wanted to speak to the manager. The manager did not care at all at us being upset about the employee's rudeness and said the pamphlets were for customers. I said, "We just spent $105, sorry, I didn't realize we weren't customers." He said we could return what we just bought, so we did and took our business to Pet Supplies Plus, who were very kind and helpful and much cheaper for the same items. When my husband was returning the items, he said the kids were banging on glass and running around. Really? Which was it, tearing up papers or banging on the glass in the few minutes it took to check out? My kids are well behaved, the girl was just trying to cover her butt for her rudeness by making excuses and putting the blame elsewhere, maybe my daughter was putting pamphlets back in the wrong spot and she was upset about having to straighten things up, who knows, definitely an unhappy young lady. My daughter cried for a long time after leaving, how completely ridiculous to treat a child like that. read more

If you are in need of things like a water bowl or a dog bed or things of that nature this is a pretty decent place.... However, the food is sub par brands and the grooming is really not the best in town.... One of the girls cut my dogs nails so short all of them were bleeding and your could tell that she was in pain.... This store overall is a so so.... I have never heard either about their training classes there so I have no evidence to back that one up either. Thanks! read more

Terrible! My daughter was going to get a chinchilla from there. We have had 4 in the past and they lived for 12-14 years. The guy pitched a fit and made my daughter cry because of his rude attitude. He said the cage we were going to purchase was too small when I looked at the pamphlet we were given and the dimensions were nearly the same! He tried to get us to buy s cage that was twice the price. Needless to say I got my daughter calmed down and took her to a different pet store and they were great. Petsmart lost a sale of over $300. I will not be going back anytime soon. read more

I have been bringing my Cavalier here since she was a puppy. I always ask for Nikki because she always takes good care of my dog. I even brought her a shelter dog to groom and even though Sid was very fearful and hard to handle she managed to get him groomed. For those who have given a bad review about grooming services I recommend when you bring your dog for the first time ask for the most experienced groomer and yes you may have to wait a week to get on their schedule but develop a relationship with them and always bring your dog to the same one so they develop a relationship as well. read more
