I went to the Aiken, SC Petsmart a half-hour ago to have my dog's nails trimmed. The lead at the grooming center said she can't clip my dog, Reefer's nails because her rabies vaccine expired on 8/9. I told her I thought the expiration date was 8/19. I was refused service. When I got home, I looked at her vaccination records, and her rabies shot was good through 8/19, not 8/9. I called the grooming center and spoke to the lead that refused the nail clipping. She said that an associate must have keyed in the wrong date. PetsMart should be making copies of records provided by the customer. I only got a sorry, and that's it. I am a repeat customer, and this is unacceptable to me. Huge difference between PetSmart and Petco. Petco is consistently out of crickets and PetSmart seldom is.

Brought my dog here to have a bath and a nail trim. They gave her the bath but wouldn't do the nail trim because she "tried to bite." My dog is 5 years old and has NEVER bit anyone. She's been to multiple PetSmart grooming locations and never had that issue. I honestly don't believe that she tried to bite, and if she did I'm curious what they could have done to get a non violent dog to react that way. I immediately drove down the road and took her to the North Augusta PetSmart where they cut her nails with zero problems and zero aggression. I watched them cut her nails in North Augusta and she licked them and wagged her tail the whole time. Do not recommend this place for grooming. They either lied about my dog being aggressive to avoid doing a service or they hurt her in some way. read more

I did. not like the way cocker spaniel was treated as she was groomed. She was nervous as everyone was watching through the open window, and they were rough with her because she was fidgety!! read more

Best customer service of any Petsmart I've ever experienced whether buying food for pets or grooming salon for my dogs. Brought in two enormous great Pyrenees dogs today for grooming. They were filthy and matted from head to toe. the groomers were phenomenally good with them taking their time allowing the dogs to sleep on their laps while they spent the entire day getting them clean and brushed out. They literally bathed them four times and got out every single tangle in mat on their coats making them cleaner than the day they were born. Will come back very regularly. We were in the market for some cute and cuddly small pets. Besides their prices and consistent spells, we had a great store rep that had Guinea Pigs and literally discussed with us about them. She brought a pamphlet of all the care tips and info about the cutey critters and really walked us through the process. She assisted me in holding and trying to feel out the temperament of the current cuteness that were the Guinea Pigs. I do not care about the drive of 30 minutes because this Aiken location has the best staff ever. When we decided to think about the purchase some more she said that she was thankful we are being thoughtful owners and that they usually have Guinea Pigs so no impulse buying. i thought that was such a wise piece of pet shop wisdom. read more

I order items online and then pick them up for my Bichon, who is now 12. He's arthritic and I purchase items for him from this store and have had very positive experiences. They fulfill the orders quickly and efficiently. They also always seem to have some good promotion/sale going on as well as being reliable with having things in stock. The staff is always friendly. This PetSmart is in a very convenient location, as well. read more

Would not sale me 1 goldfish. Said I had to have 9 gallon tank or buy fish starter. Never heard of such a thing. Went to Petco without a problem. Ask if they could sale 1 fish and salesperson said if that's all you want. My goldfish is doing fine in a 1 gallon tank. Will never go to PetSmart again or recommend them again. Really nice store AND the grooming dept. is terrific! Had my little poodle groomed and they did such a wonderful job definitely the place to groom in Aiken. I had been taking her to PetCo off Silver Bluff but had to change, the grooming dept. is not dependable and they do not do a good job. This Pet Smart opens early for grooming and they have a number of groomers on at all times that are well trained at their craft. I am very happy with Pet Smart, where the Smart pets go! read more

Requesting help in the fish department with $100 worth of Easy Raw dog food in my cart, I stand to wait for employee assistance for a long period of time in the fish department. I'm there long enough to admire the fish and make a selection. Finally I go to the cashier to request help. She says, "what do you want?" (Yes really). Then she says she'll call someone. I wait..., then I approach a different employee and notice another disappear into an "employees only" room. He says, "she's on break." Finally I get tired of waiting and coincidentally cross her path as I head for the door. She asks what I need but I'm so insulted I tell her I'm leaving the store, and she says "GOOD". Her name is Lauren. So thanks Lauren, you lost a customer. We now have Petco in Aiken and have competition. You are STUPID to treat customers the way you treated me. And haven't you heard of online shopping and it's effect on storefront businesses? Wow. Furthermore, to go on break at a busy time when customers are in the store is rude and stupid. I'd fire you and the cashier if I were your manager. read more
