I have been traveling a good bit lately and simply refuse to leave my dog in a typical kennel or cooped, caged & containerized while I am gone. I have a high class pooch and he deserves the best. I have found that at Petsitters Plus. Lissa M. not only comes to pick up my dog, but will take him to the vet, the groomer, or any place else he needs to go (she even offered to get him a Frosty if that is what he is used to! (LOL....Ben & Jerry , baby!).....When she shows up at the park, my little loyal bundle of love abandons me like yesterdays Liva Snap and runs to Lissa and goes crazy. He loves her like she just sprayed herself with Ham Perfume and is happy to go with her. She always grooms him (hair, nails and ears) and he always comes back both clean and exhausted. He LOVES playing at her place with the other dogs, socializes and generally has a rollicking time with the other 24 karat canines. When he comes home, he sleeps for 2 days. Petsitters Plus not only cares for my dog, but provides him with enough stimulation that he loves going. For that and the comfort I get in knowing that my dog, my companion and my child all in one is being treated as the best brings me comfort which allows me to enjoy my time away. My dogs are punctually picked up and dropped off at my house at times of my choosing and boarded at a very reasonable rate. Not only is it convenient for me, but it is a great experience for my dogs. I feel compelled to write a review to counter the May 2014 review. I have worked with Lissa at Petsittersplus for six years now. She has given exemplary service as she truly cares about the animals in her care. She has assisted me through the recovery from two surgeries of my own and also been with me when I had to put one beloved dog down and has also assisted when I needed help taking other dogs to vets, picking up medicine and doing other animal related tasks. I work very long hours and have one young and one very elderly dog. Both need attention during the day. If she has ever been late coming to walk my dogs, it is because another animal emergency took more time than anticipated. She has always made sure my dogs got the attention they needed and they have a better quality of life because she comes twice a day and feeds them, gives meds and walks them. They love staying at her kennel and come home happy and tired dogs. I have never had a serious problem with her. She is easy to talk to and if she is aware there is a problem she goes out of her way to address it. I highly recommend her services. read more

The best in Houston! We moved to Houston about 3.5 years ago. Lissa has been taking care of our dog the whole time. She is extremely knowledgeable and has been very patient with our dog. She offers both daytime walks and overnight boarding; both at a reasonable cost. I travel often and my dog stays with her whenever I'm out of town. He loves it! And we appreciate the opportunity for him to socialize. She is extremely trustworthy and always picks up/ drops off on-time. Don't ever take your dog to Pet Sitters Plus! I rescued a beautiful, emaciated Pit Bull in Nov 09, which I named Beauty, and she was taken to West Alabama Animal Clinic for care and treatment. In March 2010, the vet clinic sent pawned her off on Lissa of Pet Sitters Plus, for work on her "supposed" aggression issues. I saw Beauty the week before she went to Pet Sitters Plus and she was at a healthy weight, had no open sores and looked beautiful! After a month at Pet Sitters Plus, she was taken back to the vet clinic for a bath and so I could visit, as I had been told I could NOT visit her at Pet Sitters Plus (even though I had been driving an hour each way every two to three weeks to visit her at the vet clinic.) The night before she was taken back to the clinic, Lissa called the clinic to tell them Beauty had a cold. It turns out Beauty had pneumonia!! When I got to the clinic to visit her, she was so sick she couldn't even get up off the blanket she was laying on, to greet me! And, now only did she have scabs on her knees and elbows, which comes from laying on cement all the time, she had two wounds on her hip that were healed, but were still red with no hair. This tells me they happened not long after she arrived at Pet Sitters Plus! That was the last time I ever saw Beauty alive. The vet clinic put her in ICU and told me I couldn't visit while she was there. Two days later we got a call saying she had cornered the vet in her kennel (not bit, just corner) and we had to get her out of there THAT day, or they were putting her down. Unfortunately there was no where else for her to go, as none of the local rescues had room for her. Needless to say, I have her ashes here with me. read more

If I could give Petsitters Plus zero stars I would. We hired Lissa to stay at our house and watch our three dogs and two cats for us while we were in the UK for 3 days. When we came home and watched the videos, we were shocked at what we saw. She showed them no attention or affection (didn't pet them, play with them or walk them as promised). When we originally hired her, she told us that she would be there from 7pm to 7am and would come by for a mid-day visit. This was certainly not the case. She did not arrive at the house until 8:30 or 9 pm every day. One day she left them alone for 15 hours! Another day she forgot to feed them dinner (she was busy laying on the couch, playing on her phone). She let them outside unsupervised even though we explicitly asked her not to (we have a pool so do not let them go out back without supervision just in case). She never came for a mid-day visit, not once. She did not clean up their feces outside as we had asked her to do. We were almost in tears when we watched the videos. I'm still extremely upset at how she treated our animals. If you are currently using her services, buy a camera. We had used her before and wrongly assumed that she did everything she said she was going to do and that she took great care of our animals. We never would have known otherwise and probably would have continued to use her services had we not installed a camera. read more
