My children love going in just to see the animals - lots of fish, rabbits, hamsters, rodents. They sometimes have one of the huge lop houserabbits out with one of the assistants. If you want to bulk in bulk this is the place to come, hay, straw, woodchippings and food. We bought a baby rabbit a few months ago - supposed to be a dwarf lop but hes definately not dwarf and his ears tell me hes not a lop either but we love him and hes gorgeous. The animals look healthy considering they are under bright lights all day and have lots of different people staring at them and banging on the glass. We haven't had much luck with fish bought from there and prefer to go elsewhere. They have a good selection of wild bird feeders, nuts etc as well as fancy accessories for your pets if you are looking for a Christmas present for your pets.

The collar and the lead, the chews, the toys, the food, the bed, the book (not that the puppy could read it!!), everything. The prices were reasonable and the range of choices for each of the products was vast. They have also recently expanded their product ranges for the wildlife in your garden and this is the place to go for bird tables, bird feed, squirrel feeders, hedgehog houses and some of the more unusual products such as butterfly feeders and ladybird houses.

I went in after having looked on their website for their selection of small pets, advertised as…read moredoing so I made the journey out to the Tring store. On entering 2 ladies are talking, I thought with the baby in a buggy and a small dog in tow that these were customers, so I smiled and continued through the back of the store were the smaller animals were housed. After browsing/looking around at the state of the place for 5 minutes returned to the front where the older lady asked if she could help me! I apologised saying I didn't realise she worked here and that I was interested in buying a hamster. 'Nope we haven't got any i'm afraid' before I was then almost mocked for having come prepared with a carry box. She turned to the younger lady with the buggy and baby who was now stacking up products in the window and dutifully asked the other staff member (!) what the situation was, I had to press to ascertain whether they would get any in future, unlikely as they were short staffed and hamsters too much work to look after, but if they did they would be sure to advertise it in the shop window (no good for someone who doesn't live locally i'm afraid) I got a ''oh sorry'' and that was it. On entering a pet shop the first thing to catch your attention should not be either piles of stock cluttering one side of the store, or the vending machines of ice-lollies at the back. To add that I had to manoeuvre myself around the buggy too was not welcoming. Not impressed for my first and last visit, A warm welcome in both appearance and from staff makes all the difference.
