Dreadful customer service. Purchased a Kong extendable lead which snapped within 6 weeks! I was told they have a 30 day returns policy! I said but the product was faulty. They advised me to go to Kong direct! I have not had any reply from Kong. I only have a Cockapoo and the lead is for a dog up to 30 kilos! If I owned Pets at Home I would be concerned that I was selling customers defective products that could lead to an accident! read more

Very poor service received at this branch. Sadly had to have my elderly cat put to sleep, which was upsetting enough. After waiting a whole month, contacted them, to be told they had left me a voicemail (they didnt) waiting on a decision. I informed them I had made the decisions on the day & paid for a individual cremation & paw print. When they checked my details, they confirmed I had. So, another 2 week wait as they had not done anything with my beloved pet, so 2 weeks later I called again - again, claimed to have left voicemail (they didnt) & said ashes & paw print had been ready for over a week to collect?? Upon collection, ashes had been placed in a sealed plastic bag, in a box, not in a scatter tube, which is what I asked for & paid for. They really do not seem to know what they are doing, no communication obviously between the staff team & do not appreciate being 'fobbed off' with claims of phone calls/voicemails that never happened. Made a very upsetting time even worse. Would never recommend them & would never use them again. read more

In the past I have always found this to be a good shop but the last couple of times I have been in I have been unimpressed with the staff and stock. There is a vet in the shop which is handy because of the closed parking but if one of my pets was unwell I would not want it to have to sit in the busy shop waiting to be seen. The wild bird food is very expensive (Wilkinsons is much cheap). There are lots of cute pets at the back of the shop including rabbits, hamsters and gerbils. There is also a large fish section with loads of equipment. Don't bother going on any of the special advertised days as nothing happens read more

This is a lovely store, full of fantastic items and very knowledgeable staff. My children love to visit this store and see the small animals, which are excellently cared for in my opinion. In the summer months, many branches 9including this one) hold weekly petting sessions where children can get an introduction to the pets and how to care for them. Also handy is the on site veterinary surgery, which provides a free health check for any small animal you purchase at the store, demonstrating their faith in the quality of the animals sold. Great store for pets (including vet instore!) or just for a look around at the animals for a free hour out with children. there is a lot of choices in store, as well as the fashionable pet collars, jackets and the like. There are plenty of live animals to look at, and there is plenty of choice on pet food and accesories. Be prepared if buying a pet to wait for a while to get a memeber of staff. The wait is worth while, they will ensure tyou buy a pet you can care for. Good place to visit. read more

This store is on the chelmer village retail park which is a night mare to get into on a weekend day as the car park is very small. This store is large and has almost everyhting you need for your pets. It even has a vets clinic inside the store. You can take your dog around the store too! It has a small section of pets in the store like rabbits, mice, fish etc but not many anymore. They dont sell birds anymore. There prices are quite expensive but very good quality. read more

I own a dog so that is the area of the store I visit mainly. I love how pets are allowed to walk around the store. Whilst my dog is small, the shelves are low enough that he can see the toys and it's quite nice to let him choose a toy straight off of the shelf occasionally. Staff are always friendly and I've always found they will help you with any queries you may have. read more

This is a large store selling almost everything you could ever want for your pet and some items you could never imagine wanting (such as dog jumpers!). They sell food, toys, collars, beds etc etc. They also have a good range of books on various animals and there is even a vet here. They sell some small animals such as rabbits, mice, rats etc. Staff can be a bit hit and miss as to what they know and how helpful they are though. read more

Since my children got rabbits for their birthday in December I am now a regular visitor to this store. Pets At Home is found just out of town on the Chelmer Village Retail Park. This is a large Pet store which also has a Vet centre inside. It offers a wide range of everything pets including live fish, rabbits, stick insects and mice etc. Staff are helpful and although not always knowledgeable will try to help or find the answer for you. A good one stop shop for all your pet needs. read more
