Dear Petrol Canada,
I have been a long time loyal customer of your company, i have to say I was extremely disappointed with my last visit. On the evening of May 31, 2019, at precisely 10:13pm. My gas door is on the left side, and i was lining up for my turn to pump. The gas price was very good, so it was a long lineup, as cars were backed up to the street already. When it was closer to my turn, a blue car in the lineup to my left, started viciously honking at me. The driver insisted quite arrogantly that I let him pump his car first, as I assume he had lined up in the side where the pump is on the right, but he needed to switch lineups because his pump was on the left. He tried to cut in front of me and eventually, a worker came and rudely knocked on my door, and kept repeating that "he got here first, I saw you, I saw you, I saw you." The blue car did indeed get there before I did, however he and I were in separate lineups, like at the grocery store, you can't just come up and try to cut in front of someone just because you "lined up" first, but realized my line was shorter. He should not expect others to compensate for a mistake he made. Both cars in front of me had finished pumping and left, and amidst the confusion and anger I was feeling, the worker allowed the blue car to cut behind me to go ahead. Although he went into the first stall and I was still able to pump at the stall behind him at the same time, the driver of the car behind me got out and stared in confusion as it would've been his and my turn to pump if it wasn't for the blue car. This worker not only allowed this blue car to cut in front of me, but by doing so it also disturbed other drivers behind me, and clearly displayed his own inability to handle a situation with respectful professionalism. He refused to listen to my reasoning of this unfairness and continued to allow it to happen. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who got to the station first. I lined up starting from the back and waited my turn. Had the worker, cashier, and driver of the blue car been more kind about the situation, and politely asked, I would've gladly let the driver go before me. However what I was confronted with was arrogance, disrespect and bullying.
This blue car caused a commotion, but it was the worker who failed to handle the situation fairly. My girlfriend helped me pump as I approached the worker and calmly asked for his name. I saw that he had removed his name tag, but I managed to also see that his name started with "Sar-." I went into the shop and asked the cashier, hoping he would be able to help. He gave me an obviously fake number, and gave me the name of the worker as "Gung Nike." As I had seen his name start with the letters SAR, I asked if the name he had given me was real. He then replied in a very vindicated, snotty tone, "If I gave you the number and name, then it's real. Why do you think it's not?" I went outside in a last attempt to talk to the worker as it was clear the cashier was covering up for him. He kept trying to avoid me, and I told him in my last efforts, that if he thought what he was doing was right, why couldn't he give me his name? The way he had talked to me was so rude and demanding. I told him all would be forgiven if he would just give me an apology, and unfortunately that did not happen, which I why I'm writing this. A worker who knows no customer service, should have received proper customer service training before allowed to interact with customers.
I felt extremely ganged up on. I felt betrayed by a company I have always been loyal to, and promoted. I'm writing this letter to bring awareness to what happened, and also to hopefully prevent this from happening again to other customers. This worker provided absolutely no customer service, banged on my car door and refused to listen to reasoning. I felt attacked and unfairly treated, and I can say that the customers behind and around me could also sense that. The cameras have hopefully caught everything. I hope this situation can be brought to justice. read more
