The other day when I went to the Shell, I went in because I only wanted a car wash. Usually I don't even enter the bldg anymore since you have to pay at the pump anyway. The girls says here's your drivers license and charge card. Someone found them in the parking lot. I said my god why didn't you try to call me? I'm on Facebook. She said she's not. I said you still could have made an effort and msg'dd me. She didn't seem to care. I was really disappointed. I've been a good customer.

One reason why I prefer to tank at Shell is because of their V-Power premium gasoline. This is a blend of gasoline that contains a high concentration of nitrogen, which cleans and protects your engine as it seeks and destroys engine gunk that is left behind by lower-quality fuel. Extended use would also remove the gunky build-up from your vehicle's intake valves and fuel injectors, making your engine cleaner and protecting it from developing additional build-up. I know I might sound like a sales rep for Shell, but trust me, this was only one of the blends I had to study through part of my degree. Anyways, besides location, the Shell store is equipped with a lot of simple snacks and magazines. The staff are very quick and efficient when it comes to payments, and the late night staff have always been cheery. There is an automated car wash bay at this location, however it is not always open, especially during the winter time, which can make it frustrating. Besides that there is usually enough pumps (self-service and pay-at-pumps) to service customers without have to keep you waiting in line, if at all.

It seems odd to be reviewing a gas station, but I'll go ahead anyways. A few weeks ago, there was a…read moreshutdown with the Shell Scotford refinery , and throughout the city, locations were running out of gasoline. I remember scrambling through 2 other locations before I found some here. Why go through all that trouble? Well I'm a motorhead and I need premium gasoline for my car, and when it comes down to premium fuel, I prefer Shell's V-Power formula. It cleans and protects your engine as you run it, as their gasoline blend contains a high concentration of nitrogen. Anyways, this location never seems to run out of gasoline, and there is never a long line up for their pumps either. I rarely have to wait whenever I'm at this location, and the payment inside is almost immediate. I find their store to be very small, with a very limited selection of snacks or magazines. I know I'm not shopping for either here, but it's something I noticed compared to their other locations. If I'm also in a rush and need my car washed, I know that this location usually do not have a long line up during the week days. The only problem, and perhaps flaw of their car wash design, is that there is usually a gigantic puddle, that is hard to get around, located right at the car wash exit. It can be a bit traumatizing, especially after washing your baby.

After he filled with gas he cleaned his windshield with the squeegee, the squeegee scratched his windshield (which had just been replaced two weeks prior) really badly (see photo, all those streaks are scratches). After realizing what had happened, he went into the store and spoke with the manager who basically said "too bad, it's not our problem you use this stuff at your own risk". Not being satisfied with that response, I spoke with the manager today and received the same response my boyfriend got. I then spoke with the owner (Marabec) of the gas station who asked me to text her a photo of the damage (which I did) but stated in advance that she probably wouldn't do anything about it. She bragged about how much business they do there (it felt like she was basically saying screw off we don't need your business) and also indicated that maybe he didn't know how to clean his windshield and there are TWO sides to a squeegee...really? There is? Well that explains everything! After I texted her a photo (she would not do anything over email) she responded back and said as far as she is concerned the squeegee in question is fine and they won't do anything. When I told her I was not happy about having to replace a brand new windshield and I was going to take this up to Husky corporate to seek resolution, she then told me to "do what you have to do". We took the car in to see if it could just be repaired and the entire BRAND NEW windshield needs to be replaced as the scratches are right in his line of sight and when the sun hits them, he can't see. It amazes me that a business owner who can brag openly about how much business they do, won't replace a $200 windshield or even offer to cover part of it. She offered NO compensation of any sort. Sharing so a) It doesn't happen to anyone else and b) Maybe people will think twice about giving this woman their business. FYI - There is a Shell just down the road
