This place is perfect! We found ourselves here one early evening before we had to catch a Belle of Louisville cruise. Easy drive over the bridge. Plenty of parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Attentive staff. Fresh food! I saw halloumi on the menu so that was our appetizer. It came with pita, tomatoes, and cucumbers. It was perfection! When they brought it out, they also brought us a bowl of salad. We're not entirely sure if one of our meals came with a salad(probably weren't paying attention) and we weren't in a salad mood. We each took one bite of the salad and almost fought over it lol. We licked the bowl clean. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! My wife ordered the salmon. It came with veggies and rice. She loved it! It definitely filled her up and since we were taking a cruise, it felt ideal to eat fish. I went with the steak shawarma. I wanted something a bit lighter since we were going to be out most of the evening. It was perfect too! I opted for rice as my side and that's probably the only thing I messed up on. There's generally not a thing as too much rice but it was nearly a plate full. Once I ran out of steak, there's no way I could've scarfed the rest of that rice down. I was stuffed in the best way. Once we finished, I went up to pay. The guy(I assume the owner) asked how things were and of course I replied amazing! Every single thing we had here was fresh! It's hard to find a Really Good Gyro these days... But.. it seems one has found me!.. As I'm walking by minding my own business... then realizing I'm hungry... I see a couple walking out of an establishment carrying what looks to be a To-Go Food bag... And what do you know .. before my face sits a Mediterranean Cuisine restaurant that I have walked right past for the last 2 weeks.. Mostly due to the fact that I'm not from New Albany and just so happened to be working on a project around the corner.. Anywho... Long story short... They had Gyros.... Ohhhh Myyyy Goodness.... And they did it Just Right... Had another amazing experience at Aladdin's. We went on a Tuesday around 7:00pm. There were a few families sitting inside but we were able to find a table. We looked over the menu and went up to place our orders. Our food was ready within 10-12 minutes. We ordered the hummus which is always amazing & is the best hummus I've ever had. If you haven't had their hummus - you should put it on the top of your to-do list. We also tried several new things this trip: baba ghanoush (different & delicious if you like eggplant), falafel (delicious), the rotisserie gyro with beef & lamb (so fresh & juicy), & the steak sandwich (absolutely incredible, full of flavor, highly recommend). We also tried the Turkish coffee with cardamom - it was very rich (which I loved) & after a few sips I could feel the caffeine. We also tried the homemade Nutella cheesecake - the cheesecake was perfectly creamy & the crust was good too! The service is always friendly & welcoming at Aladdin's. We love this place! read more

Wifey wanted Mediterranean for her birthday and chose Alladin. I checked it out on Yelp and found great reviews. It is a cute place near the river in New Albany. You dont see the river because of the flood wall. We ordered our food with Mike, the owner from Jordan, then sat outside in the courtyard since it was about 75 degrees with a breeze. Tammy was our gracious server. Tammy brought out the hummus, Baba Ghanoush and Pita bread. It was all quite different from anywhere else we dined at, which is many places in several states. We both had the the rotisserie beef and lamb Yee Ro with onion rings on the side. The rings had big crunch and served with a different ranch I ever had. The Yee Ro's had great flavor along with the Tzatziki sauce. I ordered some Baklava to go and trust it will be fine also. I'm confident we will be back, especially since it is close to home. Until now, we had to travel across the river to Louisville for good Mediterranean food. Funny while we were there, all patrons ate outside in the courtyard and none inside. The hummus is amazing served with piping hot fluffy pita bread. The gyros are solid. We always get them. Our daughter has celiac so we get her the chicken kabob plate. Fries are seasoned well, good portion too. The owners wife homemade baklava cheesecake is awesome! We eat here often! read more

Paying for tapwater is ridiculous and makes me not want to return to this restaurant, even though the food was good. Aladdin's is a hidden gem, tucked away in a cute little "underground" area in New Albany. Honestly if it wasn't for Yelp I don't think we would have ever came across it on our own, and that would have been a tragedy. The doors were clearly marked that there was no service, you can dine in but your food would be given to you as if it was to go. I personally love this concept, it makes for an easy getaway when I'm ready to go. You order, you pay, boom the hard parts done, there is no waiting around for the check and take out boxes at the end of your meal, love it. I will say I'm not a fan of the extra waste this method produces but that's the only down side. Alright now for what we've all been waiting for...the food. I have to start by saying HOLY MOLY! I was not expecting to get one of the best steak sandwiches of my life there, but it happened. I had the Aladdin's steak sandwich (minus the green peppers add tomatoes and lettuce) and it was perfect. It actually got better the more I ate, no diminishing returns here. The juice from the meat mixed with the mayo on the pita bread...YUM! It was great, made me wish I lived closer to New Albany. I have a feeling I'm going to be making a lot of trips over the bridge this summer. The man behind the counter (I'm assuming the owner) was extremely nice and made sure we had everything we needed. We LOVE this place! Authentic and crazy delicious middle eastern food, (owner is from Jordan). Family run and operated, super friendly and accomodating. For instance, we had my wife's birthday party there and they accommodated our entire family and friends (over 25 people)! Lemme me put it this way, on a recent visit I saw 2 chefs from neighboring restaurants coming in for take out at lunch...with that kind of endorsement, you know the food is special. Amazing. Simply amazing. I have not had Mediterranean food this good since I left Chicago - in 2013! There is nothing in Louisville that compares, thats for sure. And I have tried them all. I wanted to start with a classic, because if they mess up the classic, you know there is no hope for anything else on the menu. So I ordered the Rotisserie (Beef & Lamb) Gyro. Topped with original Tzatziki Sauce, Tomatoes, Onions & Lettuce, wrapped in a Gyro Pita with rice. This plate was huge and hot and super fresh. The meat was succulent, the toppings crisp and there was so much rice I didn't even get through half before giving up. I also had a sample of the onion rings and can confirm those are legit too. Interior isnt much to speak of, but many people came in for takeout and there is a lovely outdoor area that I woud definitely take advantage of in the warmer months. We had heard that this business and location was a good one. We attempted to stop there pre Covid19 but arrived a little late as they had just closed. We had another opportunity while in New Albany current Covid19 so we knew things won't quite be the same. 1st seating was spread out within the courtyard, although not big but spacious and good weather. 2nd seeing the owner and presumed son handling customers via social distancing but cordially and professionally. 3rd noticed many showing up for take out and promptly serviced with their orders. 4th the people picking up seemed to be satisfied and genuinely happy with their pickup (like they did this before and glad to be back) We approached the stand near the front door where they take orders; asked for a menu and given time to review it and ask questions. I ordered the gyro sandwich with a Greek salad and my wife got the gyro plate ( since it didn't have bread and gluten free. We ordered 2 beers as well. We sat down in the middle of the courtyard and watched all theses customers showing up to pick up take out. Shortly our beers were deliver and nice an cold. About 15 minutes later our meals were brought to our table and we were greeted and presented the check which was completed right there. Uncovering my sandwich and her box we were greeted with an abundant sandwich and lunch. The Greek salad was almost perfect and tasty; the sandwich was nice size and the first bite was delicious and I just couldn't wait for the next bite My wife's box was nicely arranged and generous and tasty. Since she couldn't have cheese I had plenty of dressing to share with out adding the cheese. Truly a place to stop and have a delicious gyro. Can't wait to go back! Had a wonderful dinner with my fiancé. We ordered food to go and was pleasantly surprised by how fresh it was when we got home! We got the chicken shawarma and the chicken kabob meal. It was plenty food for the both of us and the taste was simply terrific. There was a billing issue with my card but the owner and his son were very patient and helped me through the issue and made sure everything was resolved. They were a very kind family and willing to go the extra mile to make sure I had a great first experience! It was a very family friendly environment with both inside and outside seating! You can tell the character of a business and it's owner by how they respond to your questions and concerns. Adding chicken to Their Greek salad is listed on their menu as a $4 up charge. It rung up as $5. I questioned the owner. He said "there must be something wrong with the system, I'll just give you a dollar back". Fair enough I thought. Until I got my meal. Normally when I open the box, a 4 oz piece of freshly grilled chicken is laying atop the salad. Not today. There were (obviously) old pieces of chicken sprinkled atop the salad. It was not fresh. They looked Ike pieces of croutons. I was obviously being punished for bringing up the descrepancy in menu Pricing and what I was charged. Whatever, I was hungry. Until I bit into a olive pit !! This is a local gem. The food is delicious and served piping hot out of the kitchen. My hummus and pita were brought out first and the pitas were soft and warm, the hummus smooth and rich and flavorful. My chicken shawarma sandwich was so yummy, lots of flavor. We ate outside and the service was good. The interior dining room is pretty basic but would be fine if it is too hot to sit outside. Doesn't look like much when you walk past but let me tell you, go in! This is the best Mediterranean food I've ever had in the Kentuckiana area. It's a no-fuss spot with excellent prices and no frills but it doesn't need it. The food is excellent. It feels like a warm hug. Can't recommend going here enough or grabbing takeout. New Albany is so fortunate to have Aladdin's. In my opinion, this is a restaurant that would easily enjoy success in a larger market such as Louisville. The appeal for me is simple - homemade, delicious, Mediterranean food, made to order. The portion size is nice. I've dined in and had takeaway and both experiences were delightful. The staff are always very sweet and courteous. I'd been craving a Mediterranean meal so I was excited to give Aladdin's a try especially after reading the positive reviews. Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed. I'd ordered the Greek salad with grilled chicken. Portion size was abundant, but it was skimpy on tomatoes, the chicken was over-seasoned and I was given ricotta cheese instead of feta. I didn't understand the black olives in a Greek salad vs. the normal kalamata so it missed the nice zing one would expect. My husband and I split an order of the falafels which were good, but the accompanying tahini sauce was terrible. I dipped my falafels in the tzatziki sauce which was delicious tho. My husband said his meal was okay; not as good as what he's had at other Mediterranean establishments. I'm sorry to say, but I don't think we'll be going back to Aladdin's in the future. read more

The food is always great. Large portions to share and the owners and family are always welcoming and there to help. I could eat their food all day everyday and not get tired. The owner is so friendly. One day we changed our minds about ordering because it would be too late by the time the food was ready. Labneh is my absolute favorite spread so to see a Labneh sandwich on this restaurant's menu REQUIRED me to check it out! It did not disappoint!!! On fluffy pita with fresh cucumbers- so very good! Also tried the Halloumi cheese plate with fresh tomatoes and cucumbers-- halloumi grilled to perfection absolutely fabulous! My only negative was everything was served in to-go containers- would have loved to have it served on plates and eaten inside!
