I'll make this as clear and concise as possible. Firstly, there is a sign at the front of the store that says two dog treats for one dollar. I bought two dog treats thinking it would be a dollar. My receipt says two treats for $2. Secondly, I left a review for the Fayetteville location months ago when I wrongly and unknowingly was signed up for a Petland credit card without my approval. I went to go look at a puppy and did not end up buying one, but submitted a preapproval application to see how much I would be approved for IF I did want to consider getting a puppy. I ended up somehow with a Petland credit card that I did not ask for and a hard inquiry on my credit. It seems like multiple other people have had this issue. I ended up being contacted by somebody, I think the owner, from Petland and they asked me to remove my review. I did because the conversation went well. Fast forward, maybe a little less than a year after all of this happened, and I go to buy something from Petland Rogers because I received an email telling me that I had to make a purchase or else my line would be closed. Keep in mind, I never once asked or was told about a Petland credit card to begin with. I was NEVER told that I would be submitting a credit application for a Petland credit card. When I ended up calling the sales representative who went through the process with me he told me it was in the fine print. I was supposed to only be applying to see what my preapproval rate would be if I wanted to take out a loan on a dog, which I didn't end up doing. So I go to Petland Rogers to buy a dog leash so my credit line that I never asked for doesn't close so it doesn't hurt my credit. The lady who helped me at the counter gave me the impression that I did not have a Petland account and that people who have a Petland account usually get a dog through them, which would explain why I was incorrectly somehow, I don't know how, given a Petland credit card. The process is long to check out and I had to sign papers for a dog leash somehow? Who needs to sign papers when buying a dog leash at a pet store? Whenever I swipe my Petland credit card, it seems like the cashier lady was having a lot of problems with her system. She had to pull me to the other register to get my first and last name, my email address and my phone number again. This leaves me to believe that because I never actually submitted an application for a Petland credit card in the first place, she wasn't able to run the transaction properly because I never had an account because I never asked for one. This was my first time trying to use my Petland credit card. And as a sidenote, because I'm feeling petty, honestly, if you do not use a Petland credit card and instead use a regular credit or debit card when paying for something they charge you the processing fee of 3.5% which they could easily pay for themselves like every other business. Which also brings me to the fact that whenever I called Petland Corporate office to ask about when my physical credit card would be delivered, it turns out they didn't even have an address for me. This is because I never actually submitted an application and I never gave my address to anybody. Which means I in fact, did not sign up for a credit card even if it was in the fine print like the salesman told me because they didn't even have a way to ship the card to me because they didn't have a delivery address for me. I removed my review the first time, but this is not the first time that I've had a negative experience at both of our local Petland locations. I feel like everybody should know about this. I am greatly disappointed at the systems and the staff at both Petland locations. I refuse to go to the Fayetteville location because of the negative experience I had with their salesman. And the only reason why I went today was because I needed to make a purchase on the card or else my account would be closed. And it turns out I didn't even get the discount on the treats that was on the sign at the front of the store... How is this backyard-breeding, horribly unethical pet store still allowed to operate in Rogers? I thought it was a pet store when walking in. I went in simply asking for information on a puppy and why two of them were "on discount." I made it very clear I did NOT want to hold, bring out, or interact with any of the dogs--I was only asking questions. (Spoiler on sale because the dog had "been there longer". Instead, I was immediately pushed into an interaction I didn't consent to. They did not care for the health of their own puppies. No one had to wash their hands. It is extremely obvious the senior management trains very young employees with the bare minimum knowledge, then pushes them to aggressively sell puppies with no real support or education. We tried multiple times to leave and were handed off repeatedly like a sales pitch we never asked for. Not one employee listened when we stated our boundaries. The entire experience felt predatory. Unfortunately we should have just walked out and left the dog in the pen, but the hardest part was seeing how the animals were treated like merchandise instead of living beings. This place represents everything wrong with unethical breeding and high-pressure pet sales. I bought a Budgie, Her name was Blueberry. I needed her for my anxiety and I loved her so much. This place does not keep in mind of pets. She died her official first week at home due to liver disease. I'll be making this clear. Firstly, they offered me 'payment' in case anything happened to blueberry I could replace her. Why would I do that? I was just saving money for her first yet visit. Secondly, they feed their birds 'millet' in large quantities for them. When they tell you one of the benefits of purchasing a dog there is that they'll reimburse you for a portion of your first vet visit and neutering surgery it's a complete lie! I purchased my puppy end of March. Was seen by vet within 3 days of purchase, still have not been reimbursed. Backyard breeder Bob isn't going to have what these pups come with. It's unfortunate that people can't read terms and conditions for credit cards, or do any research on adding a member to your family beforehand. They do not even deserve a 1 star! Do not get a puppy from here and if you do, DO NOT GET THE CREDIT CARD. We got our amazing, loving puppy last year. At the time of purchase the associate who rang us up had said that if we got the petland CC at time of purchase that we would have a 0% interest rate as long as we made our monthly payments on time. That was not the case! Go forward a year later and after making well over $2,000 in payments. We realize that the total is not going down (mind you we have it set to our draft). We check what is going on and since the first BILLING CYCLE. We have been getting hit with interest charges totally almost $2,000. So we are basically back at square one! Oh did I mention the interest rate is 35%! Who would EVER get a credit card with that high of an interest rate! I have 5 other cards that are completely empty and have WAY lower interest rates. Last thing, I tried to put in a claim about this situation and they aren't willing to pay us back even a fraction of what we have paid in interest charges. They are criminals! I walked in with my daughter and my sister during my daughters birthday. The pet counselor that helped us was Desteny. She was sweet but all staff does is try to sell you dogs. Very expensive dogs. I believed Destiny's crap and did the monthly payments for the dog for my daughter. My daughter had very bad allergies and I triple checked with desteny about it being HYPOALLERGENIC! This girl Continued to tell me it was!!! Later we get home with the puppy and my daughter swells up in hives. THESE PEOPLE ARE LIARS! they put my daughter at risk just to get me to buy their dog!!! Before we left I asked a blonde who was working if she was being picked on because it looked like people were not being nice to her. She replied with yes I'm fine and continued. I then asked what other puppies were hypoallergenic and non shedding while my father was going over paperwork & she just said some of the smaller breeds and she asked me what puppy I had bought. I replied with the Pekingese. She said congratulations, some people are very picky about shedding but I know our Pekingese found a good home! She was the sweetest but I didn't catch her name. If it was my choice anyone like desteny should be fired on the spot or at least given a talking to. Someone please tell me who the blonde is working there! It was April 30th 2023! The manager Austin even though I plainly told him I can not afford to take care of this dog because I had lost my job and I can't afford food for my puppy he just told me I was going to have to figure it out knowing that one of there animals may not have a good home because I may not be able to find a job in the next 3 to 4 weeks and he told me to call there financiaing company which they still may not approve me for it and which is still really fucked up because my puppy has had a seizure and has kennel cough which they said they would give him more treatment for but when I told them they told me that they weren't going to and I can't take this animal to the vet because I have just lost my job and cannot afford to pay the vet bills for my puppy. The worst company I've ever dealt with in my life. The staff at this company lies to your face about not only the financing you may receive on your potential pet, but also the benefits you may receive. I understand companies enjoy hiding difficult contingencies in their contracting, but this company took them all to the school house. Everything they tell you when convincing you to purchase a dog is false, its all lies in the paperwork you sign, and they get away with it every single day. The vet visits are only one visit, when they try to convince you that it is more. And it's at a very crooked looking vet. They even have contingencies that if you place a bad review, your dog won't be assured, and they tell you that the dog comes with over $100 worth of free items. (They charge you for it) Then after you sign a deal with the devil they transfer your loan to a bank called "Commenity Bank" which is the most fraudulent business IN THE INDUSTRY. When placing a dispute with this bank, everything you expect can and will go wrong. If you place a dispute they will tell you that you "may not" be charged with interest during the dispute. I got a puppy from them whom we fell in love with deeply and she left us heartbroken in few months. We visited doctors and emergency rooms several times. I was told she was born with this kind of unusual diagnosis that have not been seen in normal cases and is mostly present in puppy mill dogs. I lost her yesterday and it's heart breaking for me and my little girl. My puppy was my baby, our world and she deserved to live long. They sold me a sick puppy which obviously did not came from an approved breeder and we all know it's puppy mill. As a mother I did everything in my power to save her. If you love yourself and your family please its a request don't buy from them. It's a suffering to see your loved one going. The animals are cute but so insanely overpriced it's insane. We have 3 frenchies and none of them cost more than 3,500 from a legitimate breeder. At Petland, they START at $8,000!!! They make more profit if their animals were half the price. Also birds should not be in an open top container. They are not like small animals where kids can just touch them they are not a toy and are very delicate. Also people who work there can be really pushy. They try to sell animals to teenagers, obviously they're not going to purchase an animal. We have a hamster from Petland, and the lady tried to convince us to get a second saying "they do better in pairs." I couldn't believe this because it's basically common knowledge that hamsters SHOULD NOT live together!!! The owner decided to take down my google review for being "Inaccurate" so how's this for accurate: -The sales people were pushy about getting a credit check and shipping you off with a dog. We felt taken advantage of while we were there. -Buying the dog I was given from the breeder would've cost me about $2000 and about $100 to get the shots. Buying from Petland made him cost $8000 over two credit cards. The petland specific card had me paying off $3000 at an APR of 29.99% and they had the additional $5000 on a vive credit card with a blinding 35.99% APR. -They only cover the initial vet visit after purchase, all else you're on your own. -They put it in their clauses that if you don't buy their vitamins, pet food, and supplement your pet is no longer ensured. What does the insurance do? If your puppy dies, they'll give you a new one. That's it. This includes old age so if you remember, and they honor it, I guess that's something, but god knows where you'd be by that point. For the record, if your dog needs to have a nicer tasting supplement smeared on top of it's normal food in order to eat it, it's probably not good food. We swapped to Purina One and had no issues since. -The only other perk they offer is that your dog is AKC registration and charging the card for whatever puppy supplies you get on site. read more

Very nice friendly staff that answered all of our questions. The staff appeared to take great care of the puppies. Several of the staff knew the names and temperament of each animal as well. I was impressed with the clean kennels and watching the puppies play together. One young man interacting with the customers often encouraged hands on experience with one of the snakes. This staff member was patient with everyone and never pressured individuals if they appeared hesitant or anxious around the snake. read more

I got a dog, and it was the worst thing to do!!! My dog died and so I emailed Pet Land in Rogers Ar. They tell me to file a Claim... I do so and they tell me to take my dead dog to the vet to find out why he died, umm no I buried my baby, I am not digging him up. They tell me, " Thank you for submitting your claim. Unfortunately, we have heard back from the review team and your claim has been denied." They expect you to buy from the store every 90 days to show you are taking care of the dog. Not with the over price stuff. But they are willing to work with me to get me another dog and a discount price. I don't want another dog. Thats just the start of it. They still want you to pay the full price of the dog and the interest charges too. I asked if they could help me with taking the interest charges off and I will not mind paying for the dog.... They tell me "They are not willing to change the financing contract". This place is only looking to push the poor dogs on someone and charge way too much and they won't let you take them out of the store unless you sign a contract to also add $800. worth of stuff to take with you, even though they say it come with the dog... Don't do the payment program either because the interest is $60-$80 each month plus your bill... Go to a Dog Shelter to get a dog the is treated better. Pet Land is not worth the money or the pain. They need to be shut down... If I could give this place Zero I would do so. I feel so bad for the poor dogs that are there. They have to stay in that little cage until they are sold. My dog I had gotten from there wouldn't stop itching his ears and he had a bad yeast builder up and the vet gave me meds, but it never helped before he died. He also never got along with my husband. He was afraid of men. I believe he was missed treated from men. I don't know why my baby died. If I could give this store a ZERO rating I WOULD! I bout a Guinea pig from them at the end of APRIL. I have the receipts and paperwork to prove that. Upon buying my female Guinea pig that I spent $100 on, I asked the manager if she bite or if she was a hostile Guinea pig, she told me NO SHES NOT. She ASSURED me she was a very friendly Guinea pig. After I brought her home she had already bit my mother TWICE and then KILLED my other Guinea pig I had! I called to explain this to the manager and he told me they can't do anything. I was very frustrated. But I wish this was the end of it, but it's not! 5 WEEKS later, the Guinea pig I bought had BABIES!! Which means she was pregnant when they sold her to me and failed to mention that she was or could possibly be! We found a perfect little dog for our family! We drove about 2 hours from oklahoma to get a specific dog. They were very nice on the phone and Zach was very informative! We arrived and were given time to play with the dog and got all the information we needed. They truly care about they pets they are giving out! Ryan also helped and was very fair and respected that we drove 2 hours to come get this dog. I appreciate the service we were provided. There was a wide selection of top breeds of dogs. This place will buy animals from puppy and kitten mills, and turn around and sell them for $5,000 or more. Vets in the area will request any new patients being brought in from Petland be taken in through the rear so as not to infect any other patients. When you walk into the business you'll see puppies and kittens covered in their own feces. They do not get to go outside, which causes many pets develop allergies and other mental health issues like distemper. Please think before you purchase an animal here. read more

Petland is a terrible place to purchase a pet from!! They will pitch a very good sales pitch on a puppy but it's not as good as it seems. Most puppy will be double or triple the average price for that breed around $5000 is what we paid for our pet. Yes they have the warranty replacement plan if anything bad was ever to happen to your pet but your stuck buying there products (dog food and vitamins) to keep the warranty active. They will pitch about you bringing home everything (kennel, dog tag, collar, leash, dog food, bowls, ect.) without having to pay for any of it that day which is true but you'll be charge in a later bill for it on a Petland credit card that they have apply you for at the same time while applying for the loan to purchase the pet. The interest rate on the loan and card is crazy high even with a really good credit. Petland promise to pay for any vet or medical expenses but that is also not true. We was billed for something Petland was suppose to cover but Petland refuses to pay for it and was charge back on to us. The vet was understanding and had dealt with Petland before and told us not to worry about it and wrote it off. Once the purchase of the pet is over the employee's can care less about the customer. They have the worst customer service but a very convincing sales crew. For anyone who had fail victim to Petland I suggest you get a personal loan and payoff Petland (which was what we did) and just forget about the replacement warranty.
