I would give a zero star if I could, we paid 4500 $ for a dog that was supposed to be healthy. We took our pup to our vet the day after picking her up and did a fecal test (which the warranty will not pay for even if positive) and it came back positive for giardia. We have been fighting the giardia for over a month with multiple fecal tests and multiple rounds of medicines, that will not be covered by the "warranty" and don't hold your breath for the warranty people to call or email back. We could have saved $1500 by going directly to a breeder, but fell in love with her at the store. With all that said, always buy from an actual breeder you can verify and trust. We took a chance with a pet store and it was a mistake. However, our new little pup is not a mistake! It's not her fault and we will love her and take care of her no matter what! read more

I will not give them even one star, they sell Puppy Mill Puppies and it's a shame. Most are not healthy as promised with mental and medical issues. Many aren't socialized, please do not buy from places that sell so called purebred dogs. They purchase for next to nothing and charge outrageous prices. $5,100 for an Australian Shepherd. The employee just responds with, "Well, it's a pure bred." Oh please, my family own TWO pure bred poodles and we paid less than that price combined. The employee wasn't even 100% sure it WAS an Australian Shepherd and couldn't even spell the breed correctly. Some of those other dogs spell and are in need of a bath (you can tell they went potty on themselves). The dogs are sedated. Oh, and if you ask about details on these so called pure breds and their breeders you will get a fake name because that's what happened to us. There's also no documentation even though the employees claim all this information. These people are just in it for their 7% commission. ​ read more

it should be zero stars. Do not buy a dog from them. Paid $5000 for a purebred and spent $7000 on a months training from a New York trainer. They sent her back stating she is on trainable. Probably due to over breeding. continually barks and urinate in the house. What do we do with her now? If a top dog trainer cannot help, there's something majorly wrong with their breeders. The dog is only one year old, and so this is the prime time where she should be trained. There's no help with Petland, they'll give credit for another dog. They'll end up putting her down. read more

One thing I love doing is playing with puppies. Lots of pet stores these days won't let you, but not Petland. All staff members were friendly and helpful during our visit and offered to let us play with the one we were looking at. They keep your drivers license and give it back once you're done visiting with the puppy. The puppies are a little pricey but according to their website they come with: health certificate, vaccines, microchip, registration papers, 3 Generations pedigree, 1 year hereditary and congenital warranty, 14 day general health warranty, puppy for a lifetime program, and 10% off any future purchases store-wide. There were many available breeds to choose from and you can check online ahead of time to see if there's any that spark your interest before going in. read more

I would give this place negative stars if I could. My husband came here looking for dog food. We had never been to a Petland or knew it's reputation prior to this visit. What we saw when we walked in was horrendous. The lab at the front was covered in it's own urine. No one bothered cleaning him up because they were busy with customers. There were puppies eating feces because workers were not cleaning the cages. The most disgusting things we discovered about this store came from asking a sales associate about their dogs. Firstly the sales person said the puppy was from a "USDA breeder" but couldn't elaborate on what that even meant. AKC papers they had on file for another puppy were clearly forged (akc papers were for a female puppy, but the puppy in the store was male). There is no vetting/ application process for prospective owners. ( unless you want to finance a $6k puppy, then there is an application for a bank loan or credit card). They have no interest where the puppies go...which makes me feel uncomfortable thinking about where these innocent lives might have come from and where their parents still are. (Puppy mills maybe? I honestly don't know because none of the sales associates knew either. ) You are better off adopting a dog from a local shelter than supporting this shady store. read more
