Midday Sunday the place was quiet. It was good to escape the bustle of the small good court area…read more A warm welcome. Had the same experience last time I was here. I wondered if the smiles & service was just for the opening days. Nope, still friendly & helpful navigating the menu choices. Ordered the Porkie. Had it last time and it was a winner. Why deviate???

Was craving some buttered fish fillet and some chips and decided to drop by here. There were quite a number of people upon entering and the only seats available (small space) was the high tables on the sides. It is an open concept cafe like burger chain with modern interior design. Decided to order El Fish burger - $10 (price subject to change) which consist of battered fish, cos lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, pickles and lemon herb aioli. I decided to opt out the vegetables as the burger might be bloated and the main taste might not be there. With an additional $5, you could choose a drink and a side dish: chips, sweet potato chips or coleslaw. I am a fan of sweet potato chips and hence I ordered that with Kirk's creamy soda. Next time round I'll probably give the cheesy bacon chips and one of the shakes. Servers are friendly and food arrived within 5 minutes. The burger's buns are crispy and well-cooked. The ingredients are also well-cooked and flavorful. The sauce... Just beyond words. It just makes you wanting to eat more of those. I am glad I opted out the vegetables as it might be of a little different taste. The sweet potato chips are crispy and came in a good portion as well. Not only it is of a good price, I enjoyed every bite of my meal. I love the consistent crispiness of the ingredients as well as the lingering taste of the sauces that accompanied it. Definitely a gem in Winston Hills area :) Will definitely be back for more!!

I've popped in for a quick breakfast. Asked about the brekkie menu…read more "Well I can make an egg & bacon burger" If you follow my early morning travels in search of breakfast I'm sure that you've rarely, or perhaps never, seen 'bacon' on my orders. But I'm here now, and I'm short on time so I say "Why not?" The Pirate's Grill just near the corner of Old Northern Road and Kenthurst Roads so I gaze outside as the traffic goes past. My burger arrives. It looks honest! And it tastes great. Fresh, hot and the bacon is cooked just right! The egg starts to ooze as I bite into it. Just how I like it!!! Happy and friendly staff, a great burger and a large coffee......for less than $10. Does life get any better? I'm a happy Yelper!

Failure to mention it was just the burger - that I would be charged full price and not get any chips... only to have a dried out miserable burger arrive on a plastic basket. While the meal was a disappointment- what was more disappointing was the attitude of the woman who brought it to me. No apology, no explanation. Just a 'this is what you get attitude' and stormed away... if I wasn't so hungry I would have put on my feisty boots and demanded what I asked for ... So sad... never to return
