ICO Construction & Remodeling

We needed a remodel of the house in order to consolidate households. My mother's and my own. This…read morewas a large complicated project. We needed it to be done in a manner that met our high standards and done in a reasonable amount a time as a member of our household is disabled and we wanted to keep disruption to a minimum. From start to finish, we were impressed by their professionalism, attention to detail, and dedication to getting every aspect of the project just right even when initial work did not come out just right. They took our requirements and turned them into reality, and the quality of the craftsmanship speaks for itself. Not only is the finished space beautiful and exactly what we envisioned, but the ICO team was also a pleasure to work with throughout the process--keeping things clean, communicating clearly, and staying on track. My mother is pleased and relieved. We are absolutely thrilled with our remodeled home and wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services to anyone looking for top-notch work. Thank you to ICO again for a job well done!

Shower, tub, floors, tile, lighting, electrical, tile, fans/vents, painting and more. I give them my highest recommendation. See before and after photos. Excellent communication, beginning with their response to my initial request for information and throughout the whole project. The project manager and even the owner were available to respond to questions seven days a week. At the end of every day they provided a progress report along with what to expect the following day. They made regular visits to my house to inspect the work in progress. Even after completion of the project they stayed in touch to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. All the workers were courteous and professional. Each day they carefully cleaned the work and adjacent areas. At the end of the project a housecleaning service thoroughly cleaned and touched up. It amazes me how other companies and individuals didn't respond to my inquiries or ghosted me after promising to provide a quote. Importantly, ICO is local with brick and mortar offices in the metroplex. I would be leery of all those virtual companies who devote most of their resources to sales and marketing and then sub the work to random contractors.

What a wonderful business, extremely nice people with great ideas. If you're looking for a great…read moreconstruction company, look no further, you can't do better than HDP. Ray, the head of the company, is extremely knowledgeable and very kind. They have an interior designer, Nohemi, that has a great eye, and we loved her design portfolio. Our budget and time frame ended up being a little tighter than we had originally hoped due to some required foundation and electrical work, so we had to scale back our project and go with a smaller business. However, we are hoping when we do our next project, which will be the kitchen, that Ray and Nohemi will be available. Would love to work with them beyond just the design phase.

YES, their were Construction delays and hiccups along they way. It's called Construction for a reason. But what we love about HDP is they stand behind their work and they are as honest and trustworthy as you get. Just incredible people. It is 2025 and we again have a few projects we want to do and some things we want updated. Ray was able to reach out to the subcontractor who worked with us during our 2016 remodel to make changes to our home security system and cameras. Seriously, almost 10 years later. We had a custom built steel gate installed in 2016. Ray still knew who built it and knew what would be involved at adding a new coat of paint. Ray also helped with moving us over to one system like Ring, Nest,or Wyze. Instead of a hodge podge of various products. This has been huge. During that process he reminded us that the new code requires 3 smoke/fire/carbon detectors. We have referred several friends to HDP and allowed individuals to tour our home and inspect his work. Because we continue to be that impressed. Last week we again gave him a long list of normal wear and tear items to more extensive projects and he submitted his review timely and accurately along with a couple suggestions. We look forward to beginning the next list of projects.

She presented us with about 6 different options that included all the materials needed for the project and had samples to help us "visualize" how it would all look when done. It was obvious Kathi listened to us during our initial meeting and did her homework to come up with some attractive options for us without overwhelming us with material choices. As the general contractor, Kathi and her team handled all subcontractor interface. We had one minor issue during the project, the painter applied the wrong texture to the sheetrock. We called Kathi and the problem was corrected the next morning. The crews worked quickly and kept the job site clean during the project. Our experience with Lone Star Design Build was very positive and we will certainly call them with any remodeling projects we have in the future.

I called the first emergency plumber I found. No answer. The second one thought they might be able to make it suppertime. Uh, did I miss speak the emergency part? The third time was the charm. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. Spoke to a very nice lady who took all my information and told me it would probably be about an hour. Meanwhile, I could surf in the garage with all the whitecaps!! By 8:44, still no plumber. Called a nice lady back who said she would roust him out of bed. I'm not lying. He showed up about an hour later, freshly rolled out of bed. Trip charge? $285. That was to turn off the gushing water. If I wanted him to analyze where the water was coming from, another hundred. Not to fix, just to look. The estimate was for a little over 7 grand, which didn't include the scaffolding and the floor and wall repair. He wanted to dig through the cement in the garage 4 ft diameter and 5 feet deep. Then 5 feet over to where he surmised the leak to be. GASP!! With $365 of my hard-earned money in his pockets, he left. At least the water got turned off. Enter plumber #2. I called a friend and asked for a recommendation. DALWORTH PLUMBING. The owner of the company, Butch, came out, assessed the problem, and offered a solution. Didn't involve ripping through the garage and tunneling into the house. And he didn't want a penny. His estimate was less than half of Benjamin Franklin. They came out two days later to do the work and did an amazing job. On time, as promised, and under budget. A winning trio in my book. I guess this is a jeer to Benjamin Franklin and cheers to Dalworth Plumbing.

There was an issue in the clean outs that likely caused the discrepancy, but when we asked any questions regarding how they were performing the isolation test -- the owner Butch jumped to becoming defensive. Initially I thought he was trying to rip us off, but after taking some time away from the situation -- I don't believe he was malicious, or trying to scam, or anything like that, but just did not take well to any questions on how he was performing a test compared to other plumbing companies. This and his (what I now believe to be genuine) offers to try and help us out on the cost of things (waiving leak locating cost if we committed to his company doing the repairs), left me feeling uncomfortable about the entire situation. Unfortunately his style of business offerings and communication led to personality mismatch and heated communication between Butch and us, and we ultimately had to utilize another contractor to become comfortable looking into any further issues.
