I have a home warranty, they assigned Peterson Electric and was very glad they did. Joshua is absolutely amazing! He is the best of the best for sure. He was very knowledgeable and professional, does quality work, prompt, efficient, thorough and is the best electrician I have ever had. Peterson electric takes pride in their work and goes above and beyond to make sure the job is done right, and you understand the work he did. I will be using them again for other outside electrical work as well since they have great pricing! I highly recommend Peterson Electric and the owner Joshua. read more

Wow! Josh Peterson delivered great service from clear communication before the appointment to on-time arrival to accurate diagnosis to effective remedy for our oven. Two other professionals had come to help us, but failed. Josh listened to the idiosyncrasies of our 4-year-old $3,000 oven and figured out what the problem was, then fixed it expediently for less than $200. He also called the next day to see if the oven was still working properly, and it was...still is! We are VERY happy with our experience with Peterson Electric! read more

I have hired Peterson electric multiple times in the past, but I will never do so again and I have to post this review to warn people off. The work is extremely overpriced and potentially dangerous (more below). First let me just share that I believe they will overcharge you if they think you will pay. After having done some work I think I already over paid for, I was quoted $4500 to run some wires from my panel for an induction stove. I was already done working with this company for reasons I'll get into below, but I had the work expertly done for $1350. I don't see how someone who has been in my house and knows my attic/setup extremely well can get to a price that high unless they are trying to rip me off. If that's not enough for you, I had wiring and a bunch of work done for my sauna. I was told the quote needed to be this high to run #2 wire which was going to be expensive. They ended up running #8 and said that was a write up error and wouldn't give any discount. Again, I think I was ripped off. Lastly, a 50 amp circuit was put in place for the sauna. The electrician placed 2 plugs on the same 50 amp circuit. Every electrician I've talked to said this is an obvious no-no and couldn't believe they would do this. After arguing with my father (40 years of licensed electrical experience) they eventually caved and refunded the money for the outlets. However, the trust was already broken. I would not hire someone who does something this dangerous and won't admit their mistake. read more

Overall an excellent experience. Professional, courteous, and efficient. Came out next day on the weekend to wire my new HOt Tub. Reasonably priced. read more

I would like to highly recommend Peterson Electric of Loveland Colorado, 970 599 1872, if you need an electrician.  We have used them on several occasions.  For example, when an electrical outlet went out, our French Drain overflowed.  Joshua fixed the outlet and diagnosed the cause of the problem.  He fixed that problem in addition to taking care of the outlet.  You couldn't ask for anyone better.  Joshua is extremely knowledgeable about electronics,  excellent at diagnosing the existing problem, reliable in getting the work done in a timely manner, hard working, has an incredible work ethic, honest and fairly priced.  If you need help with an electrical problem, try Peterson Electric.  They are "shockingly" good! I so appreciate someone who knows their craft and is helpful. even to the point of texting me on his vacation to enquire if the management people and exel were following up on the issue. he provided video and photo evidence of what he did and what needed to be done along with notes. very thorough. very highly recommended. read more

Joshua installed 5 gorgeous light fixtures and 2 ceiling fans, in what seemed like a few hours. No mess, no fuss, no problem. Makayla is a boss lady! We were so impressed with her ability to put together our ceiling fans so quickly! This team is very professional and made our new flower shop look amazing. We will use them for any/all our electrical needs. read more

Peterson Electric - 2 of our 5 light fixtures - Electricians Near Me - Loveland, Colorado

Have you ever needed work done like NOW! I did but was in a weird spot. All I need is a estimate of the condition of the house we were under contract on and the cost to get it up to code. It's a tough spot to be in to call a busy professional and ask him to drop everything to meet your deadline when...you aren't even paying him. Josh listened to our needs, did an unbelievably thorough job of examining the electrical systems in the house and provided us a comprehensive estimate of the steps and cost to repair. What makes this unreal is he did it on Sat of the holiday weekend. I wish I could figure out how to make more stars appear in his account. I'll just have to settle for giving them all of my electrical business in Fort Collins and leaving a review on google as well. This is a business to be proud of in our community. Thank you Josh and Alicia! read more

They diagnosed a problem created by another Electrical Company. Was very reasonably priced and did a great job taking care of my issue. Would definitely recommend read more

Extremely responsive, on time, immediately found the problem even though it was like finding a needle in a haystack. Definitely recommend!

Not a customer (nor in the same state) but I've watched some of his YouTube videos which are fascinating to watch if you want to learn about electrical work. Would hire him if I lived in Colorado. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVMLgV5EGZAhCIc2XMKiMkg read more

Joshua installed a new electric panel at our home. He is easy to work with, gave us a fair price, coordinated everything with the city and did an awesome job. We highly recommend Peterson Electric for any electrical work. read more

I had a mysterious electrical problem in my 100+ year-old house that resulted in two rooms in my house not having electrical power to the outlets. I expected a very complicated and expensive but necessary repair and called Peterson Electric (I live in Loveland). From the get-go, Peterson Electric was very responsive. Josh, a Master Electrician, was very personable and friendly (which matters to me) and I was blown away by their expertise and fairness when they did the work. The repair was made quickly and expertly, and the bill was WAY lower than I has expected. Joshua and Peterson Electric earned my loyalty, and I will absolutely call them the next time I need help with an electrical issue. It's great to find a trade specialist you can trust. read more

The owner, Josh Peterson, scheduled this morning between 7:30 - 8:30 AM but showed up around 8:45 AM. When he scheduled the appointment, he said he would only have 30 minutes to look at our panel and see what he would have to do to put in a level 2 charger for an electric car. He was at our hone until 9:45 AM & spent a good amount of time using our kitchen table as his personal office. I finally called him and said that my husband had to leave and take our daughter to school. He said, and I quote, "Well, I don't know your daily routines. No one told me that you had to leave." When I explained to him that he had only said he had half an hour to look at our home and we counted on that statement, he very rudely said he would leave right then and then ended the call. I've never been treated so rudely or impatiently or angrily as Josh treated me today. I don't know about their quality of work but I have no desire to work with someone who has no regard for other people's time or how he treats his potential customers. I will be moving on from them and find another person who is nice to work with. Update (based on Josh's response): Showing up at 8:40 when you say you will be there between 7:30 and 8:30, is not "on time". Also, conducting company business at a costumer's kitchen table while drinking coffee with your spouse is not okay. Josh took our time and was extremely rude. And no matter what he writes here to excuse said behavior in my home and over the phone, it was extremely unprofessional. Do not use them. If you do, you will be talked into all types of services and upgrades that you do not need. Buyer beware! Update: I noticed that Joshua went back in and updated his review to add lies to his response. Maybe he was hoping I wouldn't read it. Pointing out all kinds of erroneous and false information about me promising to be at my house for the free estimate, etc does not take away from the fact that he was extremely unprofessional, late, rude, and tried to con us into extra services. The whole point of my review is to inform possible future costumers that Joshua will try to persuade you into services you do not need. These services will cost you thousands. Buyer beware! And by the way, Joshua, attacking me personally only proves the type of business that you run. I refuse to hire someone who did horrible in their "interview" i.e. free estimate. read more

GREAT work! Would highly recommend! Peterson Electric did the full electrical work on our sunroom and we were so thankful to have Josh's expertise and quality workmanship on the project. We called PE late one night when we were having power issues and they showed up within 2 hours, accurately diagnosed the problem and spent the time to explain it to us. Joshua is extremely knowledgeable and was able to put us at ease in finding a solution to our electrical nightmare. He, Alisha, and family are some of the most professional and hardest working people you will find. We were blown away at what they were able to accomplish in our difficult to work with 1908 home. We would absolutely recommend Peterson Electric to anyone looking for electrical work done. read more

In the past 5 years since I have owned this house, I have had three electricians come out and IREA twice. None of them could figure out what was wrong. A co-worker recommended Joshua. I called and set up an appointment. Joshua was on time, he was friendly, straight forward, and an all around nice person. My issue had him stumped at first, but Joshua didn't give up. His knowledge and expertise shined through and he figured out my issue. Joshua gives it to you straight....no fluff. It is what it is. Sometimes the truth hurts. My issue was serious and costly. I checked around, Joshua's price was fair. I had the pleasure of seeing him and his wife, Alisha, and their children for almost a whole week. He made my house "happy" again, something the three prior electricians couldn't do. No more appliances blowing or bulbs bursting. I can honestly say that some good came out of all my mess. I met this wonderful family!!! That in itself should tell you tons. He even does you tube videos to help others. Peterson Electric is knowledgable, honest, and fair. And also a joy to be around. You will not be disappointed. read more

I was in a pinch and needed a service call done. Made a few calls to local businesses and Peterson Electric was the only one to return my call. I woke up to some chirping smoke detectors in the middle of the night. Joshua was able to come to my house the next day and replace my entire system. As he was finishing, his ladder hit a light on my landing and it broke the glass. Joshua promised to "make it right." My fixture was rather unusual and quite large. I looked online and couldn't really find anything similar, so Josh suggested having some glass cut and sandblasted. He was pretty sure his wife, Alicia, could paint it. I figured it was worth a try. They came and installed it today, and it's nearly indistinguishable from my original fixture! I know accidents happen, and I would have been satisfied with a replacement fixture. But Joshua and Alicia went WAY above and beyond for me. I can't recommend them highly enough! I wish there was a six-star option. :) read more

The only thing that I can say is that the guy was honest -- my job for him (installation of a ceiling fan) wasn't worth his while. If I had a bigger job (wiring a skyscraper?), maybe I'd condsider him. Otherwise, nope. read more

I needed a GFCI outlet repaired, a bushing replaced on my bathroom exhaust fan and insulation repaired on my powerline to/ from the detached garage. Joshua was honest with his estimate on the phone by being clear about the potential for a higher fee if the problem was worse than expected. After many previously bad "surprise charge" experiences with other companies , I found it super refreshing to hear someone just give it to me straight. Trip charges and all. When he came out, he showed up on time (within his window) and was polite. He found the problem with the GFCI was slightly worse than expected and yet got it fixed within the estimated time and cost. His good attitude and work ethic is worth every penny. Not to mention, he did the job right. I recommend him highly. read more

Peterson Electric installed a 240 line for our new hot tub. The service was excellent - he came over for a quote shortly after I contacted him, was able to perform the service within a week, and stuck to the timeline and budget. Joshua was very familiar with local code and had many helpful thoughts as to placement. After the hot tub was delivered, he came to hook it up and stayed around an extra 2 hours to make sure the tub was working. He gave us just as many good tips as the hot tub store. The inspector mentioned that our electrician did a great job, and I was very impressed with the quality of his workmanship. Would definitely hire in the future. read more

This team is exceptional! They came to my house to add circuits to the basement for two sump pumps. Joshua came to our house for an estimation, promptly got on the phone with our sump installer to ensure he would be installing the correct equipment and gave us an estimate. He followed up the night before to make sure we were still on for the project and arrived when he said he would. I appreciated his and his wife's professionalism and will certainly call them again should I have more electrical work. I saw some bad reviews here, because people expect to get an estimate over the phone, which is unreal! Or complain that he couldn't jump at getting them on their busy schedule. Get real folks, he is running a business, and he and his wife run it very well. I highly recommend Peterson Electric and, as I mentioned earlier, I will definitely be calling them again should I need profession electrical work!! read more

I can't say I'm too happy. We had him come up check out our house. We had several issues we were concerned about. He didn't seem like he really wanted to be there, and I think it really reflected on his advice. He tried to tell us everything in the house was fine and he didn't even really test it. He just looked at it. Now here we are, dealing with major issues. We had another electrician come out and he told us what we are originally thought in the beginning, that the panel was bad and the breakers were not good. Everything I had shared with him as far as problems, got dismissed. I'm certainly happy our house did not burn down. But I am a little disappointed because I really thought he was giving us an honest answer. read more

It was a Saturday after the 4th of July and my air-conditioning would not cut on. The breaker had flipped and would not stay on, so it was obvious that the problem was electrical. I tried to contact several companies, with no luck, but Joshua Peterson promptly returned my call and agreed to come out the same day. It was 98°. The bad breakers were fixed, the connections tightened and Joshua took the time to walk me through what would be involved in replacing the panel, but he said my existing one was good enough and did not recommend replacing at this time. Just a few hours after the problem surfaced, I was good to go. Joshua also promptly answer a text that I sent him later in the day. I highly recommend Peterson Electric for their professionalism, quality work and service after the sale. Call with complete confidence. read more

My husband & bought a new house and had quite a to-do list from our home inspector, so I called up Peterson Electric based on their other raving reviews. Joshua arrived promptly at our agreed time (even though we're all the way up in Boulder). I found him to be thorough, knowledgeable, personable, informative and honest. It's so rare to find someone truly trustworthy that will do a great job without breaking the bank. We're thrilled to have found that in Peterson Electric! Joshua was incredibly attentive, taking the time to walk through each item on the list and room in the house. He explained all safety issues and helped me figure out what needed to happen right away (within our budget) vs. what we can to do down the road. He was up-front with pricing for all parts and labor, which I very much appreciate. I was impressed every step of the way--from the first phone call setting up our appointment to the visit itself. Communication was easy, efficient, and friendly. I also love that they accept cards and use the Square app for transactions. (No more hunting down the damn checkbook.) The services we received were reasonably priced, and I was given a complete rundown of what we'll take care of in the future with a full price breakdown. No unpleasant surprises here! Overall it was a very a positive, informative experience. We look forward to working with Peterson Electric again for our next project. We're really grateful to have found such a fantastic electrician! read more

Wow. Contacted Peterson Electric after reading some favorable Google reviews. Joshua was gruff/no-nonsense, but he agreed to come to my home to provide a quote for adding a circuit to support a new appliance in my garage.  Joshua texted the morning of the site visit to say he was on his way.  I politely asked him to text again when he arrived so I could meet him in the garage (and avoid triggering my rescue dog with a doorbell).  He curtly replied that he was 15 minutes out and to "handle your dog now."  He texted when he arrived, I raised the garage door and greeted him wearing a face mask as a precaution.  He was not wearing a mask and asked if I'd like him to.  I asked, "Do you have one?"  He responded by explaining that "we're moving away from that...we got sick a while back. I'm not vaccinated, and I'm not getting vaccinated, and I'm not gonna come into people's homes and get blamed for getting people sick." Taken aback, I explained that I have older parents who live with me. He replied, "Have a nice day," and left the property.  I appreciate that Joshua made a personal decision about whether or not to be vaccinated, and I respect his decision. I expected the same respect in return and was appalled at his disregard for the safety and wellbeing of my family and me who were ultimately prepared to compensate him for a service! Given Joshua's unyielding position on masks and considering the fact that his work often requires that he enter private residences, I would recommend he save us all some time and energy by sharing this information prior to scheduling service appointments. read more

As told in the New York Times today, Joshua Peterson is THE go-to electrician to book for work in Northern Colorado.

Josh initially came on 3-4-19 to do a service call at the house we rent for a problem with the circuit breakers tripping. I called him again on the 6th and talked with him about whether I could use the existing outlet on the back porch for a new hot tub we were looking at purchasing. He asked me to send him pictures of the outlet and the panel in the basement. He worked with me via text for quite some time to figure out exactly what I needed in order to have the hot tub work without problems and he gave me an estimate. I then asked him if there was any way that could come back on the 8th and install in the dedicated outlet but he said he was booked until 3-21-19. When I told him I was really hoping to get it done sooner as the tub was being delivered on 3-8-19 and I was just extremely excited about finally getting a hot tub, he said he'd see what he could work out. On Thursday, 3-7-19, he told me he'd be out the next day about 2 pm. He wasn't able to be here on time as another job kept him over, but when he did arrive, he and his wife Alisha started working, after dark AND in the rain. It took a couple hours, but the job was done and done right! My hot tub was up and running. We invited them to come in for a hot drink after being out in the cold. They stayed and visited with us for a while after the work was done and that's definitely not something your average electrician would do! We really appreciated the work Joshua did AND the time he and Alisha spent talking with us! Great experience...would definitely recommend Josh and his wife to anyone! A+++ read more

Joshua was honest, very knowledgeable and helpful in understanding the electrical health of our place.

Called Joshua with a question about pricing for service vs. doing it myself with (his) advice and Joshua was candid, honest, and forthright about his recommendations. He referred me to an HVAC professional he has worked with in the past who was kind, helpful, and equally as honest with me. It feels rare these days to find a straightforward and precise professional who is willing to both advise and refer when questions into service fall outside of their wheelhouse. While I have yet to contract Peterson Electric for service, you can bet that they will be my first and only call when that need arises. The totality of my experience with Joshua, Peterson Electric, and the subsequent referrals has presented me with an overwhelming 'feel-good' energy around the whole thing - a resulting experience that has become increasingly uncommon when consulting outside help.
