After referring me out to an oral surgeon because Dr. Zhao would be on vacation the upcoming week for an extraction. I ended up riding it out with antibiotics and she saw me that first week back for impacted wisdom tooth extraction. I did this because I felt good energy from my emergency diagnosis. I hadnt been to a dentist in 8 years. Everyone in the office was warm, caring and considerate. I needed to raise my hand quite a few times for extra novacaine because I have a higher tolerance in which the dr gave without hesitation. They paused when needed for me or themselves as it was a tricky wisdom tooth with curved roots (yay haha). I barely had pain the next few days and lived comfortably on ibuprofen/Tylenol without issues. I plan to go back for my deep cleaning because of this experience, not as scared as I used to be. They're prices match and they're fully transparent ahead of the work completed. They aren't after a wallet.

He would have had five stars from me, if it weren't for one mistake. Initially, he numbed me on the wrong side. He thought the procedure was on the other side. It's important to take a timeout, before performing any procedure. The surgeon should review the referral content regarding the procedure and what tooth needs to be worked on. After so many years, maybe the procedures could become routine. Two of his assistants and an office assistant had prepped for him, but they must have not reminded him. One of his assistants watched on while he initially numbed me, and she didn't say anything or question whether the correct side was being numbed. I stopped him, and told him which tooth was to be worked on. He then realized that he made a mistake and was apologetic. What if I didn't stop him or question his actions? Let this be a lesson to all patients. Whether you're with this oral surgeon or any other type of surgeon, make sure you and the surgeon are on the same page. If you're having an oral procedure done, be prepared and know which tooth (the number of the tooth) is of concern. If for some reason you think something is wrong or something doesn't seem right, stop the surgeon. The experience after Dr. S corrected himself was ok; more so, because I was worried something else might go wrong. This I'm sure can happen with any other oral surgeon, but it's preventable and it shouldn't happen. For my experience, even though it was corrected, in the end I was left with unnecessary numbness on both sides of my face and a feeling of if I had to have a similar procedure done again, I would not return to this same location.

I'd give more stars if I could! I needed a root canal and crown earlier this year. I had the root canal done in the Bay Area, but the same doctor was unable to also do the crown. I called around many other dentists in the bay, but none worked out (poor service, scheduling issues, etc). I was recommended Dr. Lata, so I made the drive from San Jose all the way to Tracy, and it was very worth it! The receptionist and other staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful both in office and on the phone. Both Dr. Lata and Dr. Poliki were very kind and knowledgeable, listened to me, reassured me, and did a great job with my crown. Recently, I was having some trouble chewing on that tooth, so I called the office and they recommended that I come in to have it checked out. While it was a long drive from San Jose to Tracy, it was very worth it. I was seen within 5 minutes of reaching the office (which was very nice after the long drive!), I explained my issues to the doctor, and it was resolved right away! I'm so happy I can comfortably chew again and I'm not having any more pain. Both doctors and their whole staff are very knowledgeable, kind, caring and helpful. This was hands down the best dental experience I've ever had. I think it can be hard to find an honest and trustworthy dentist, but at California Dental Care I felt I was in great hands! He explained everything to you and what he's gonna do you let him know what your fears are and he will talk you through it. I'm petrified of needles and he had to give it to me to numb my mouth. I was nervous and my blood pressure showed that to be true. But they did a truly fantastic job, and I left feeling excited about finding a truly different dental experience! I returned 2 weeks later (yesterday) to get a temporary crown put on a tooth I had cracked. My first crown, but I was confident they would do a good job, and my confidence was not misplaced. In particular, I would like to call out dental assistant, Rachel. She knew I was concerned, and went above and beyond to help me feel comfortable, encouraged, and her dental skills were top notch.
