Peter Pan Bus Lines, CT Transit Express Lost and Found customer service is the absolute worst...if I could give "0" stars I would. On Monday I left my phone on the 918 Hartford to Willimantic bus. I called and left a message because you can't talk to a human...especially at a company such as PP Bus Lines because they know they have horrible customer service and are tired of people bitching at them. 6 phone calls and three emails later over the course of the last 5 days and they don't even have the decency to return and or acknowledge I've called or emailed. Not surprised at all they have a 1.9 out of 10 score and I hope my review brings it down to 1.8. CT Transit should consider finding another company that maybe would treat there riders better. read more

It's frustrating not receiving boarding passes via email especially after setting up a account and app to make matters worse when I reach out to customer service which is email only they respond back with we have sent boarding passes to email when they have not good the drivers tablet worked and was able to pull up my passes Not sure if the driver was to blame but we had a near miss with a tractor trailer but the driver definitly seemed to have a extra sense and preemptively took swift action and narrowly avoided a horrible collision the bus we were on seemed like it needed some mechanical attention but aside from these gripes Peter Pan has been alright I imagine the profit margins are slim in this industry and they always are cheaper then trains no matter how you slice it between NYC and Worcester or Boston I guess I just like trains more and am willing to pay the difference going forward read more

I learned early on that there was no direct commercial flights from Hartford (BDL) to Boston (BOS). Time to check other options. The most feasible way to get from Hartford, CT to downtown Boston, MA was sitting on a private charter bus. I also checked Amtrak but they don't have a direct schedule between the two cities. And so, I initially found and booked FlixBus, but they cancelled my ticket 2 weeks before my arrival. I found Peter Pan Bus lines, which claimed to be the largest private charter bus in the New England area. Thought that was pretty cool and way more reliable than FlixBus. With that said, I was glad they had the same itinerary and provided a direct route to Boston without any stops. And of course, the price was pretty nice at $29, comparative to getting an Uber or Lyft. This is where these private bus companies shine over Uber and Lyft. Upon arrival that morning, I found the bus depot that was in the back of the Hartford Union Amtrak station. Thankfully my Uber drove past the area so I knew where to go instead of trying to find it. Only issue that we had was the fact that the initial bus we boarded had no functioning central air conditioning. So we sat in that warm hid thing for about 10 minutes before we switched buses, which made it way more comfortable the second time around. I had my electronic ticket out for the bus driver, Whom had a scanner and just scanned my phone and it was easy. Too easy in fact. The overall experience here at the Peter Pan Bus lines was pretty good and typical. They provided me with the basic ticket in which is what I paid for, physically transporting me from Hartford, CT to downtown Boston, MA. The trip took about 2 hours from departure to arrival. The driver was friendly as I boarded and exited the private charter bus. The seats were plush and definitely like a small private plane, with two seats per row. All rows came with an electric outlet, so you can charge your devices while riding the bus. I took full advantage of that and it was a good amenity to have on board. During my ride over, we took the main interstates and main thoroughfare straight into downtown Boston, arriving at the South station precisely on schedule. I chose the 9:30am departure and it arrived at 11:30am. The seats were pretty comfortable and had a good time just decompressing on what transpired over the last few days of getting up at 4am and putting out 26.2 miles over the course of 5 days in 5 different states. Now it was time to just chill out and enjoy the rest of my trip in Boston on a chill Saturday morning in May 2022. Other than the no air conditioning on the first bus, everything was smooth on this trip. This Peter Pan Bus line ran from Hartford, CT to Boston MA. It's base in CT was the union station terminal and in Boston, the south station. They have an online reservation system, so you would need to book your travel ahead of time before departure. That means they accept major credit cards only. Although I'm not sure whether or not they have a ticket booth inside the building of Union Station Hartford, but possibly you can buy it with cash if you are in Hartford and need a coach bus to get you where you want to go out of Hartford, CT. I'm not sure if they have overnight parking or any parking here, because it's a bus terminal. I'm sure they have something here, like a park and ride facility nearby, so it makes sense to have parking for people who make trips in and out of Hartford and don't want to commute that far each way. For those of you that use public transportation, Hartford has its own local bus system to get you to union station and Amtrak station is located here as well. No matter how you travel in New England, consider the Peter Pan bus lines for your travel. It'll Save money on everything and you can sleep on the bus. Can I give ZERO stars? This has to be the worst company on the planet. My kids just stood outside in the rain for a bus that was supposed to arrive at 6:55 am and by nearly 8 am, it wasn't there yet. They had bought tix to Boston and needed to make another connection. They can't go now. $160! And their first time trying to do this. No working phone numbers to get help. There were 10 kids all standing there waiting for the bus - TEN! Someone said the app showed that the bus had already departed - it had not even shown up. Unbelievable, horrible. read more

DO NOT USE PETER PAN! My bus never came. (I was definitely in the correct spot, I've taken a Peter Pan bus there before.) I was left waiting in the cold for hours until a friend could pick me up. I have requested support on the website and through email multiple times. They acknowledged once and have not replied since. There goes about $40 down the drain, not to mention all the discomfort and stress. read more

Hartford, CT PP 11:15am. No One Was at the counters, hardly any customers in the waiting area at.all. The Peter Pan agent was sitting on the counter while he waited for the counter agent to get there because the counter agent was late. I watched some poor old woman walk around go 6 agents here asking for help to get somewhere. Everyone was like "I don't know", "not what this window is for". She came to him and he was like "Manchester, VT?". In frustration she just turned and walked away confused. He did nothing just sat.there on his butt. I went over and talked to him and said she really needs attention to which he said "I asked her if she meant Manchester, VT and she just walked away". Manchester, CT is 10 miles away. I stopped her and asked exactly where she was.trying to go. She was trying to get to the Manchester CT mall movies 10 miles away. In 60 seconds I found out where she wanted to go, local bus info, and told her times and where the bus station is. Not ONE of these people could have pulled out a phone and helped her out? Afterward I found him and I said - not yelled - to him "just a little customer service FYI she really needed help and all of you have cell phones and you did nothing for her, you could have looked that up". And he started arguing with me saying "I help people all the time and I asked her where blah blah blah " and then he just walked away while I was talking. The bus ride was for a trip to Boston for a harbor cruise. The ride was ok. Pretty cramped. Driver and tour guide were nice. However when the bus driver was helping people off at the harbor he got distracted for about three minutes and without his cognition a younger-middle aged lady fell off the bus on her neck into the street. We had an ambulance come and her next was seriously injured. The harbor cruise ticket said not responsible for negligence or bodily injury. Not responsible for negligence? Really? Shame on you Bob/Robert from Peter Pan bus lines in Glastonbury, CT! Tour guide was also named Bob and trip organizer was Nancy LaPerla from Adult Ed in Glast. I think they're husb & wife? The bus was 25 minutes late to pick us up. The entire ride from Washington DC to Baltimore, the entire bus was shaking and making extremely loud knocking noises. The driver was cutting people off and getting honked at left and right, and she did not even acknowledge the bus shaking and knocking. I felt genuinely unsafe on this trip. When we pulled into Baltimore, one of the back tires blew out. And the driver attempted to keep going and had to be chased down by the workers. If this happened on the highway who knows what would have happened. And while we were being offloaded in Baltimore, a passenger was trying to take a picture of the blown tire, and got SCREAMED at by the workers. If they're so concerned about that then they should take better care of their buses. Spend the couple extra bucks and get a decent, SAFE ride read more

The seats on these buses are very outdated. Hardly any padding left. My butt went numb in a two and a half hour ride to NY. On the way back to Hartford, it felt like the heat was partially on instead of the AC. Couldn't get comfortable and was sweating on the bus. Beat up subway cars are more pleasant than these buses. I don't plan on traveling peter pan again! read more

Travelled with my partner from Hartford to NYC and back on the same day. No problems either trip. Bought tickets on day of travel, price was reasonable. Buses were fine, WiFi worked, toilets were clean and we arrived both times close to estimated time. Would travel with Peter Pan again. read more

I'm writing this review as I'm sitting on the 1:40pm (late) Peter Pan out of New Haven bound for Springfield. My seat is actually broken and slides back and forth when we travel up small inclines. My eyes burn ever so slightly from the overwhelming urine odor coming from the "restroom". Although "this coach is non-smoking" I pray someone lights something, anything, to mask what must be gallons of urine splashing about with every turn. A husband and wife choose to sit separately (and take up 4 seats while doing so) and allow a man with two small children walk up and down the aisle looking for seats. Stay Classy, you Peter Pan passengers you. Amtraks train schedule unfortunately doesn't run often enough to Springfield so I was forced to take this bus. It was a staple in my college days due to the low fare but sweet hell, get you're sh*t together. read more

I never thought i would be discriminated against but hey first time for everything. We are all human beings and bleed the same. Lord help me with this racist driver. Peter pan bus driver I was waiting in line to give the ticket to the women bus driver. For the peter pan leaving out of hartford to new york at 7:30 .There was a man and a few people next to me i was second in line but people gather around me. I let the man go infront of me. Whenn i went to give her the ticket i domt know if it was racist because i am hispanic but ahe ignored me. And took all of the other passengers rickets and left me behind. I said excuse me mam and gave her my ticket to which she said to me "im trying to have patience. To what i reply " well im sorry your having a bad day". She replied with anattitude again im not having a bad day your trying to cut in line. Mind you i was second behind the door. I replied to im not trying to cut. She snatched my ticket from my hand and i boarded. Im disgusted at the way i was treated.i cried the whole way there. It is my first time using your service and to get treated unfairly and rude and discriminated against was beyond unbearable. No one should be treated like that not by race or anything. This is probably the worse customer service I have had in a long time. I bought my bus ticket the day before I planned on using it. My flight was being delayed which means I will miss my connecting flight and make me miss my bus. I called but they were closed so I wrote in asking for a refund I do at like 2:00am their time I not get a response until 2:00pm there time. They tell me that they can not offer me a refund but if my travel date has not passed I can transfer the ticket. My date passed obviously because my plane was late for 2 hours. Basically I am out 30 bucks because of this. I find this ridiculous. read more

The schedule is very inaccurate. The drivers talk too much to each other. There's no stops for the passengers to get out and use the bathroom but the drivers can do whatever they want. Unless you need to use this line, I'd choose a different one. read more

Avoid by any means possible. Terrible company. Drivers don't stop at location and report that they did. Missed passengers and never stopped. Takes 15 min for customer service to answer and first response is "it's your fault" the driver stopped for a few min. Reality he never did and I ran after him after he passed my stop. Shame. Just tried to book a charter bus to go to Bright Nights. Once I was shuffled through the phone cue to the correct person I was met with someone who obviously hates her job. I was looking for information and was told I needed to know what I wanted. Mid conversation I was put on hold with no warning, waited what felt like forever and ultimately hung up. Minutes later I called King Ward Coach Lines. Completely opposite experience! Was able to get answers to my questions and booked a bus. Shame on you Peter Pan Bus Lines. Extremely disappointed with customer service. I bought a bus ticket last night and called this am realizing that I picked the incorrect date. I called right when they opened to see if I could just have the ticket time changed... not asking to cancel it or anything about getting money back. The lady on the phone told me that I have a 10 dollar charge for changing it along with a 2 dollar fee. Why would there be a charge for changing a button on your computer. I am so sorry to make you go out of your way and do you job but changing a time on a computer.. I didn't even make you get up or print anything off.. I then write to customer service about it and hear nothing back. It is a completely poor way to run a business and I will never do business with Peter Pan and tell everyone else I know to NEVER use them. Some times it,s a lot easier to make a customer happy than a bunch of negative feedback. read more
