The dentist told me that repairing the tooth was unlikely but possible, and that extraction was the more likely outcome. I was fine with those possibilities and expected that he would examine the tooth and then let me decide how to proceed. I was quoted approximately $4,000 for an extraction and implant, or $1,200 to repair the crown--even with insurance. I thought, "Fair enough, let's see if the tooth can be saved." This is where things got strange. The dentist never actually examined the tooth beyond looking at the X-ray. He was unwilling to remove the crown, which I had temporarily reattached with dental cement, in order to properly evaluate the tooth. Instead, it felt like the focus immediately shifted to getting me to commit to the $4,000 treatment plan. When I asked for an examination, I could hear him raising his voice to the receptionist in the hallway, and I felt pressured to make a decision on the spot. They also recommended repairing two fillings and quoted another $1,000 for that work. I have dental insurance, and I've also paid cash for dental work elsewhere, so I have a reasonable basis for comparison. This experience felt unusually sales-driven and uncomfortable. The dentist was rude, dismissive, and repeatedly spoke about my mouth as if it were in terrible condition. I've never had a dentist speak to me that way before. The entire interaction felt more like a scare tactic than a genuine effort to explain my options and help me make an informed decision. I left feeling pressured, uncomfortable, and without the thorough examination I came in expecting.

Dr. Jacobson has perfect bedside manner. He will not convince you to do anything that he truly does not believe you need. I think it was geared to complete the cleaning as fast as possible. I am used to get a very good job with manual instrument cleaning. The drilling for dental cleaning is way too aggressive. Actually one tooth became quite painful the next day after and I had to take antibiotics to have it subsided in 3-4 days. The second cleaning. The facility asked me to pay extra for xrays after only 6 months. I am a doctor and most dentists do annual xrays, unless there is a problem. I declined. The doctor came in an was already frowning apparently for that reason. I also let him know that his drill cleaning caused me too much pain in one tooth and that I took antibiotics to make it go away. This time I requested a manual clean. He was superficially working on me, left without greeting after only 10minutes without any goodbye and handed me over for a 5minute polishing job by the dental assistant. Overall the dental cleaning job was the worst ever and even I can clean my teeth better than that office with brush, dental floss, candle sticks, waterpik and dental instrument. Apparently they make good money. The office has beautiful design, especially the flooring. Prices are definitely not worth it. i won't be back.

I've had cracks in my teeth that he fixed and he also removed all of my Mercury fillings which I had wanted to do for a long time. He's extremely reasonably priced and what's more, fast! I never wait for more than ten minutes for my appointment and he gets things done efficiently without sacrificing thoroughness or quality. He's also super great at telling me what I can wait on and what needs to be addressed now - kind of like a great mechanic! Haha. Right before the lockdown he told me we couldn't wait any longer to redo the one crown I have and so he redid it and it came out lovely. I'm so glad he pushed me to do it as the old one would have fallen apart during quarantine and I would have been screwed. Unlike many Beverly Hills dentists, he's not caught up selling you exorbitant cosmetic things you don't want or need. He's now the only dentist I really trust for my dental work and I cannot recommend him enough!
