Occasionally, one finds out about one of those quiet masters that exist in a less-advertised realm. Enjoying an almost cult-like adoration from the different fans of his massage therapy work, Peter Hofmann brings his encyclopedic knowledge of soft tissue, skeletal structure and nervous system network to an amazing result with his remarkable strength, resulting in the most advanced massage work I've ever experienced. As a professional musician who has been plagued for decades with repetitive stress complications, my first visit to Peter left me in awe of what he was able to alter, elicit and revise. Originally I had just sought out someone who would provide some standard type massage work to just try to open up my arm and neck while in Hawaii, as I was playing a great deal of music while there, back to back. Within just a few minutes of being "under the thumb" so to speak, I realized I was in the presence of a master. His humility and humble approach combined with his genuine care and concern for his clients' well-being, leaves one rather changed, not just physically, but emotionally as well. Originally thinking I would have just one visit and that would be it, I was instantly eager to fit in as many appointments as I possibly could while I was there on the island. I'm heading back over in late November for a month and look forward to getting back under his care, immediately upon arriving. Ditto to those who comment on the absence of the luxury spa environment, which always leaves me uncomfortable and feeling quite phony, Peter's studio, while modest, creates a sense of intent and purpose with a calming and respectful environment. Far, far preferable for this skeptic to those veneered and pompous resort massage spas. I'm fortunate to have met him and thankful for his excellence. read more
