Mike Quinn and Zane Mckeithan are a revelation for anyone in the Napa area interested in sports,…read moreparticularly basketball. I don't have kids, but I've seen them working with kids, and if I had kids... this is where I'd have them train. They know what they're doing and if your kids are serious about basketball, they need personalized training like this early on in their development. Napans should be lucky they have a local resource because most cities this size don't. Speaking as an adult, they've been just as great. I recently moved to Napa and Mike found me a team for the winter and spring seasons in the city's rec league and right away invited me to their Sunday night open gyms. Basketball is just a hobby now as I approach my 30s but the level of organization they put into the open gyms and the rec league is really stunning. It's high competition without all of the usual problems (complaining, too much waiting) of most city's open gyms and leagues. You can actually work out and have fun for 2 hours instead of sitting around watching people argue calls. This isn't a side gig for Mike and Zane -- they're professionals, and you can expect professional treatment whether you are just getting started in sports or you've been doing it (poorly) for a few decades, these are the guys to see.

Okay so I know about these tennis courts for a very long time . Actually since I was a little…read morechild. However I never really came here that often because it is out of my way. First thing I want to say about these tennis courts is that they're fairly decent. They have ample parking space and they have about four full-sized tennis courts. The surface of the courts are in decent shape. The nets are also in decent shape. There are benches located all around the entire premises. There's even a pickleball court and two sets of backboards for people to practice on or to get a good exercise/workout. The one thing I noticed about the tennis courts is that during the morning hours from about 9:00 a.m. to noon, there seems to be a ton of people here playing tennis. I believe they may even have local leagues playing tournament style because all of the players in the morning look like they have been playing for many years. If you want to come here and be able to have some space for your own to practice your form or other kinds of different techniques, or if you want to coach somebody or your children and just want enough space to do that, the best time to do that is between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. after about 4:00 p.m. I do notice that it tends to pick up just a little bit period people who get off of work during that time coming to play and about a quarter to half of the courts will be occupied at that time too. The only real graph I will have about this place is that there really isn't anyone here I think that keeps the courts clean as with any other tennis court in Vallejo. But the good part about that is you'll find many tennis balls just lying around and it's free so if you're in need of tennis balls and you're just starting off there's nothing wrong with that . A second thing I noticed is that at the very back of the parking lot I do notice from time to time there are random cars that just park there and people just kind of hang around in that area. I'm not too sure about how it is during the late evening hours but if you're coming alone and kind of feel insecure I would probably avoid coming very late especially if you're the only one and cannot defend for yourself. Otherwise this court is really good

They constantly advance your kid into the next tier and at first it's exciting and you feel like your child has accomplished and adapted so quickly... then comes the required additional training which comes with of course stricter instruction and that amounts to much higher monthly costs... and management requires you to advance your child even against your own kids will. The morning after only a one-hour lesson with Mr. Philip Graham the first thought that came to mind…read morewas: It burrrns so, so badly! (The good kind of pain though...the kind that reminds you your body needs all sorts of conditioning to stay in tip-top shape.) Let me start off by saying that I'm neither agile nor am I a natural athlete. And my hopes of becoming that tennis superstar went out the door long ago when all the kiddos told me we weren't playing baseball. Apparently, we have to stay within the box and our tennis balls can't go flying like fireworks. |: That being said, Coach Philip did an awesome job piecing together what little confidence I had in playing tennis, after it had been crushed and trampled on by my fellow teammates back in the days. Before diving right into improving your tennis skills, the lesson begins with some drills (so be sure to arrive 15 minutes early to begin the warm up session). While the warm up seems simple, don't be fooled with the light jogging, lunges, and a few high kicks here and there. You may not feel the pain just yet, but believe me...when the pain sets in the next day, you'll wonder if such soreness could have existed in such places. #nopainnogain #nameofthegame It's been a while since I last played tennis, so I opted for Tennis 101: Beginner's Basics. So, what exactly does this cover? A heck of a lot! Even though I have played (leisurely) before, I'm glad I chose this route because I was completely mind-blown by all the basic things that I missed, like...properly gripping the tennis racket, efficiently moving towards the ball, and hitting the ball with precision. Trust me, you'll learn a lot from Coach Philip! Or should I call him Saint Philip? Saints may not exist on earth, but he definitely has a lot of patience. I'm an over-analyzer, so I'm the type of student who will ask so many questions that the rest of the students will roll their eyes and look like they're dying of boredom. How should I move my feet? What angle should I hit the ball? Am I doing this correctly? Even in the midst of bombarding him with questions, he didn't mind answering all my questions and was even willing to slowly go over each movement to make sure I was executing each one correctly. All the while, he'll also feed you words of encouragement to motivate you to explode into your full potential! Do you know many coaches who will do that? Because...I don't...most would probably yell out of frustration or give up on such a hopeless soul. ): And the best part?! You'll have so much fun that time will surely feel like it flew by so quickly! (: Seriously. You'll come back wanting for more fun, while staying in tip-top shape! If you want to have fun and improve your tennis game, Coach Philip will most certainly help you get there...you just need to show him that you're willing to work for it. Embrace the #pain and let it #burn! GL! d:
