The pace is too fast, they don't go over the basics, they speak to you as if you should know what you're already doing or should know terminology that a beginner wouldn't know. More than half of the class each week walks out with unfinished projects and during the class you can see on our faces and in our body language that most of us felt stressed, overwhelmed and frustrated by the lack of instruction. On the first class we were told to "go to YouTube to see how to finish" our pillows. The schedule was supposed to be from January 10 - April 18 with 3 dates on which we wouldn't have class (January 17, February 14 and April 4). They refused to cancel the class on January 31st even though driving conditions were terrible because of the ice storm - so those of us who chose to prioritize our safety already missed a class and it was impossible to catch up the next week given the pace. Then on February 13th I receive an email saying we have class tomorrow on the 14th. I emailed back and said no, that is not what the schedule says and I cannot make a class since I had other plans. They then said they have to CHANGE THE SCHEDULE (FOUR WEEKS INTO THE CLASS) due to "instructor availability." I explained that as a busy wife and mom who has a very busy job I cannot continue with the new schedule and try to do make up classes. I explained that after FOUR WEEKS of class I still did not know sewing basics because they were NEVER explained. After FOUR WEEKS I still could not thread my needle or refill my bobbin unassisted because of the lack of instruction and pace of the course. I asked that they refund my money for the rest of the course (I said I was happy to pay the $200 for the 3 classes I attended and the 1 missed due to the inclement weather) but I couldn't continue due to the schedule change. They have refused to refund the $400 for the remaining classes. They tried to point to their no refunds policy - but that is VOID because THEY breached the agreement by unilaterally changing the schedule. So I am now in a battle with them for my money - because THEY changed the schedule because it appears that THEY did not properly plan to ensure they would have coverage for the classes. It's so unprofessional and completely ridiculous. Also their "instructors" may be able to sew...but there is a lacking in the teaching part. Only ONE instructor explained things and that was the only week I came home with a finished project (but I had to stay an extra 30 minutes to be able to complete it). And their "customer care" person Julie is TERRIBLE at her job. Despite the name - they do not seem to actually CARE about their customers. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU RUN A BUSINESS. I really wanted to support this local small business - but they have made that impossible. I was so excited about this class, but they have taken what was supposed an enjoyable experience and ruined it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND that you patronize their business.

I signed up for the beginner trapeze class, and let me tell you, "beginner" here does not mean "everyone's brand new." Most of the class clearly had been before, which at first was a little intimidating... but the vibe? Supportive. There are three instructors, each strategically posted like trapeze guardian angels: one up top, one on the ground, one mid-zone to help you through the process. They give you the info you need, then give you space to actually process it--not just bark orders. It's a smart balance of guidance and "you got this." I'll be honest: standing up on that platform is terrifying at first. But between the calm coaching and the cheering from classmates, you find your footing (literally). And once you take that leap, you get why people keep coming back. The environment is fun, well-run, and just the right amount of challenge. However, there was a 30+ minute wait after the scheduled appointment time for someone to get started on my hair. I wasn't upset but the unexpected delay would make me late to an appointment afterwards. I was in communication with the front desk to cancel the appointment, she had me submit the cancellation ticket to the lead instructor Ms. Angel Brown who became extremely unprofessional and hostile, acting like she was about to fight me and yelling disrespectfully even though I remained calm. The Front Desk staff was Tara Gregg and Reon White was there to witness everything as it happened. I let Ms. Gregg know that I would be filing a complaint. Afterwards I emailed Roberta Bennett whose email address was listed on their website (who turns out to be the owner's sister). She reported the incident to the owner, Chet Bennett and to Ms. Brown. After a chain of email exchanges, I eventually spoke to Chet Bennett in person and told him exactly what happened as it happened. He apologized and said he would speak with her. I decided not to continue going there for appointments anymore, but almost half a year later I called to schedule an appointment (not for me) but for my daughter. The receptionist, Ms. Gregg, was very rude and just hung up on me. I went in person and spoke with another staff person who eventually told me that they would not offer any hair services to my child. The staff person apologized and didn't understand why the owner was handling it this way. Instead of hanging up when I called I don't understand why it was not clearly stated over the phone, or even better, half a year ago when I first reported the incident. It seems so childish and petty to hang up the phone on a customer instead of directly stating they are refusing to service my daughter because I complained about a staff person (Ms. Brown) being confrontational. The lack of professionalism, customer service, and accountability was shocking. Customers deserve to be treated respectfully. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I rarely rate 1 star, but just know that when I do it is very well deserved.

The sky-high score is beyond what we expected-- 60 points higher than even his highest practice test. What you've given to my son cannot be cannot be quantified in a test score. You've given him a sense of academic and intellectual pride that he will carry lifelong. You've given him the confidence and validation that if he puts his mind towards studying consistently that he can achieve his goals. You were consistently reassuring towards him throughout the tutoring sessions about his capabilities, far more than I was even as his mother. The knowledge that you gave him is only overshadowed by the confidence you instilled in him. I still can't believe that he achieved the score and overall it wasn't a giant investment of time, just sessions once a week with not much homework in between. Your sessions with him were clearly very effective, as Jacob even quoted you upon leaving his test and used so much of what you taught him to power through. You taught him the underlying strategies and concepts which was incredibly important because the actual test did not look that similar to the official practice tests and so he really had to extrapolate from what you taught him fundamentally. We have had a few rough years with Jacob with respect to him realizing his full potential academically and grappling with his own learning styles and this completely turned things around for us as a family and for Jacob as a student. Jacob wasn't the kid anyone would predict a 1500+ test score from--- and here we are: at a 1550. It's like a complete 180 change in him and how we view him, the equivalent to what he jumped on his test score. How meant-to-be. Our gratitude is endless!!
