"Care" like this should be criminal. Where do I start?…read more 1) Dr. Lola at Silver Spring Gastroenterology likes to charge $330 for a 10-minute Zoom appt (one I was forced to have as a "pre-op consult" with info that could have easily been emailed). When I questioned this, because it had to be a mistake, and then tried to get this brought down to something reasonable, I was denied. Disgusting. 2) She also likes to ask, "Well, what do you think we should do?" I'm not the doctor! Why am I paying YOU? She does not read the chart beforehand (neither does the office, as they triage you and take your vitals and then ten minutes in, ask, "What's your name again?") I came for you to fix me, not for you to ask my opinion on what kind of care path I want to take. I want the one that frickin' fixes me. 3) After spending thousands of dollars, at my post-op follow up, it was suggested I take a $7 supplement to fix my issue. After over a year of visits and thousands of dollars. I would have laughed if I didn't want to cry. Why was this not suggested first?? 4) But never fear- she prescribed something, too. Imagine my surprise when my pharmacy called me and asked when I got on high-cholesterol medication....because that ISN'T what I have. She sent in medication for a condition I did not have. 5) The office quoted me a $0 estimate for my procedure. I currently received my third different bill for a total of $2000 for that very procedure. Again, would laugh if I didn't spend so much time crying. This entire company, system, and country is broken. When I see a b.s. MedStar commercial or magazine cover purporting that their mission is to help people, I want to set things on fire. Corrupt. Uncaring. Unethical. THIS is MedStar. Stay away. I know at this point I will take my chances with my health, because I simply cannot afford to spend this much money on crap care.

Not the same since the practice changed. Front desk staff can be quite rude. Doctors hardly spend…read moreany time with you and come off as uncaring. It's definitely just about the money now not the patients. It's really very sad. Go to an urgent care center. You'll be treated better.

It is never hard to get a same day appointment and the staff is very knowledgeable with any questions you have. Dr. Shukla listens to everything you have to say and you can tell that he cares about his patients. The office is very organized and you never sit on hold. It's very hard to find a good doctor I consider myself very lucky lucky that I found Dr. Shukla

This doctor put my life in danger in more than one way in less than 24 hours. That is pure talent!…read more First he gave me a powder for a vaginal infection that literally says "Do not use vaginally" right on it. Apparently it potentially causes cancer. Fun! Then he did not properly prescribe a different medicine and it caused me to end up in the hospital with short term extreme depression and suicidality. Rather than checking on me, fixing it or ya know...anything professional. I got a letter a month later saying that they were firing me for belligerence. Apparently when I said "Please call me back. Im starting to believe you dont give a f^^k. It hurt their sensitive little ears. They also took blood tests back in December, charged my insurance for them and then conveniently never followed up with me so I still dont have the results 3 months later. He seemed super nice in the appointment. Unfortunately it was all smoke and mirrors.
