We filled out the one page new client form, handed over our previous vacation records to be inputted into their system and taken back to the examination room all within 10 minutes of our arrival. Our veterinarian, Theresa Feller, DVM was simply amazing! Theresa was thorough, asked questions and answered all our questions regarding our pet's health and we enjoyed visiting with her as she examined our miniature Schnauzer. Very friendly, professional, nice clean facility and very reasonably priced for the services we received. They accept debit/credit (as shown on our receipt), cash and I'm sure a check for those who still prefer check writing. So happy we found this Veterinary Hospital plus they are really close to home.

We STRONGLY advise against taking your pet here for any serious medical issues or emergency care. My boyfriend's dog became ill on Thursday, August 20th. We called and were told we could bring her in that day. After dropping her off around 4:30 PM, Dr. McCabe informed us she had pyometra and required emergency surgery. They kept her overnight on IV fluids (with no staff on-site to supervise her overnight) and scheduled the surgery for Friday morning. Following the surgery on Friday, they informed us she needed to stay another night. Saturday came, and we received no updates at all. When we drove to the clinic ourselves to check on her, we were simply told, "Oh, we meant to call." When they brought us to the back, she immediately perked up, happy, and acted completely like herself. Despite her visible improvement, the vet wanted to hold her for two more nights, setting her release for Monday morning. On Sunday, they texted us to report she was doing very well, cheerful, and walking around. We were relieved and eager to bring her home the next day. Everything changed Monday morning. First, they called to say she wasn't doing well and needed to stay longer. Two hours later, they called asking for permission to perform a plasma transfusion. We agreed, believing it would help. Less than three hours later, we received a call stating she had passed away. No explanation was provided. No insight into what went wrong, and no offer to let us come see her before attempting the transfusion. She died alone in a cage surrounded by strangers, and we were robbed of the chance to say goodbye or comfort her in her final moments. When we went to pick up her body, the vet didn't even come out to speak with us or explain what happened. To go from being repeatedly reassured that she was improving to suddenly receiving a death notification with zero transparency is completely unacceptable. PLEASE take your pets elsewhere. They deserve far better care, communication, and compassion than what this clinic provides.

Were turned down yesterday literally because our cat was too friendly…read more We trapped a male cat, a frequent diner at our backyard, for TNR (trap-neuter-release). He was the second such cat we brought to Arden, and we expected similar same-day treatment as the first time. I was asked whether the cat was sweet to humans enough to handle him. Apparently, if you answer "yes" to this question, even if you had been guaranteed same-day treatment over the phone, you get booted and have to wait several weeks. We didn't have several weeks. You can't confine an unfixed outdoor cat, sweet or not, inside a home with twelve other indoor and indoor/outdoor cats, some of them waiting in another line for their spay surgery. It's a company policy, they said. Avoid companies with policies. We called North Concho the next minute and were admitted there in the next ten. One extra star for the low price range and another for the doctor's professionalism. They can be really nice when the patient meets their expectations. However, always have a backup plan in case they suddenly find it doesn't. ttttttttttttttttTTTT (the kitty typed his own signature and I decided to keep it)

All I wanted was the quoted $30 pre-assessment for my one year old teacup yorkie, Evie so I could…read morehave her spayed. Was billed $49 for the appointment and ultimately charged $130 after adding the other bs I didn't actually need (but was bullied into getting). The vet was rude and talked down to me the whole time like I was an irresponsible idiot. She also talked so fast I couldn't ask questions. About midway through the assessment the vet casually mentioned that she heard a heart murmur and that it could be heartworms and that we should treat for them just in case. She gave us a free first dose of heartworm treatment and flea and tick treatment (Evie has never had fleas OR ticks)... then put a $420 heartworm treatment plan on our next appt quote. I didn't realize it was potentially a scam until later in the evening once I'd calmed down and had a clear head. [Note: I will be getting a second opinion for her supposed heart murmur.] They also insisted on giving her two vaccinations that she wasn't due for. The rabies was due in less than a week so I was okay with that one, but the DAPPV shot wasn't due for MONTHS so the vet's "I'm legally obligated" was a complete and total lie. Do your own research, but I don't even think DAPPV is required by Texas law. Yes, it's best to have it, but she shouldn't have forced us to get it, especially not months early. After I gave up and figured updated vaccines couldn't hurt, the tech took Evie to the back to vaccinate her and test for heartworms. She brought her back with her leg literally soaked in blood from elbow to ankle. I was shocked and pointed it out and the tech apologized profusely and took her to get cleaned up but OMG. My poor baby. That same tech had asked me about Evie's parent earlier in the appt. I told her that the parents are full bred yorkie which she recited back as "supposedly full bred yorkie". Like... no... they're my friend's dogs and they're AKC registered. Why would you assume they're not what I said they are? Just an all around terrible experience and I advise you to steer WAY clear of this place. *** I attached pictures of Evie for visibility.

As I was waiting with my cat for the vet to see us, I could hear her raising her voice to her staff speaking badly about me and my pet instead of asking me directly any questions she may have had. After 45 minutes of waiting she spent about 2 minutes examining my cat and then tried to charge me and additional $22 for the visit because she said my cat was a (bad word that starts with an a and ends with hole). I would like to note that neither her or her staff got bit or scratched, my cat just hissed. Unfortunately she did not seem to care in the least about my cat or myself and I feel bad for the pets that she does treat and the staff that has to work with her. I hope other people have a better experience, but I would never recommend this veterinarian to anyone who loves their pet.

From the moment I walked in with him, I felt her full attention and care for him. She ended up having to perform surgery to remove his kidney, which was something she had never done before. She told me on the phone, "we are going to do whatever we can to save this dog's life". The surgery was successful and I have never been so thankful. They were so understanding and sweet to me, and let me visit him a multiple times a day. Los Caballos had my dog for 3 nights, and everyone I came into contact with over there was just amazing. Dr. Probandt is extremely competent, caring, honest, and just a overall badass. Everything I could ever want in a vet. They definitely won me over, and I will forever trust my dogs in their care.
