The vet was rude and talked down to me the whole time like I was an irresponsible idiot. She also talked so fast I couldn't ask questions. About midway through the assessment the vet casually mentioned that she heard a heart murmur and that it could be heartworms and that we should treat for them just in case. She gave us a free first dose of heartworm treatment and flea and tick treatment (Evie has never had fleas OR ticks)... then put a $420 heartworm treatment plan on our next appt quote. I didn't realize it was potentially a scam until later in the evening once I'd calmed down and had a clear head. [Note: I will be getting a second opinion for her supposed heart murmur.] They also insisted on giving her two vaccinations that she wasn't due for. The rabies was due in less than a week so I was okay with that one, but the DAPPV shot wasn't due for MONTHS so the vet's "I'm legally obligated" was a complete and total lie. Do your own research, but I don't even think DAPPV is required by Texas law. Yes, it's best to have it, but she shouldn't have forced us to get it, especially not months early. After I gave up and figured updated vaccines couldn't hurt, the tech took Evie to the back to vaccinate her and test for heartworms. She brought her back with her leg literally soaked in blood from elbow to ankle. I was shocked and pointed it out and the tech apologized profusely and took her to get cleaned up but OMG. My poor baby. That same tech had asked me about Evie's parent earlier in the appt. I told her that the parents are full bred yorkie which she recited back as "supposedly full bred yorkie". Like... no... they're my friend's dogs and they're AKC registered. Why would you assume they're not what I said they are? I would like to note that neither her or her staff got bit or scratched, my cat just hissed. However, I am then not surprised as their have been a couple of times that I have witnessed numerous unruly and rude customers expect special consideration and exceptions for themselves. These people are greedy and shamelessly go out of their way to write a poor review from a place that would not give them everything they want at a lower price or even free. I have been going to Green Meadow Veterinary Hospital for 7 years now. I have been to plenty other veterinarians before this one and have not been pleased until I met the doctors and staff at GMVH. More than once have my animals' lives been saved and each time I walk out of there I find myself smiling thanks to caring and concern of the doctors and their accompanying staff. Dr. Blanton, the owner, is the best veterinarian in town. His attention to detail and overall concern for the animals is amazing. He treats each one like it was his own and is always cautious of risks. He is fun to talk to, whether it is about my animal, or even other stuff! He is so sociable and cheery! Dr. Kleman the other associate veterinarian at that location has seen my animals numerous times, as well. She seems so happy to walk into the room! She is always happy to listen to any of my concerns and addresses each one. If any of the doctors forget when they leave the room and come back in, REMIND THEM! They have a lot on their mind as they try to mentally diagnose other problems your pet may have that's not on the chart if you ask while you're there. One review mentioned her saying "ew" to a rat, I have heard her say that before when my pup had an ear infection. She was obviously kidding, I mean it's not like she sees plenty of nasty things and blood in surgery and emergencies, I'm sure she could handle looking at a rat. So let's stop being so serious. Dr. Schulze is one of the newer doctors and has seen my dogs plenty of times already. I love how informative he is! I will admit he can stumble around on words occasionally but that is expected from someone fresh out of Vet school! He will always be willing to explain any problems and how they go that way as well as any jargon (medical terms) that may be used to describe the animals ailment or condition. He is extremely thorough and considers every possibility when tackling a diagnosis. Very friendly and attentive. I have not seen Dr. Cooper since she moved to the second clinic on Main however when I have seen her she has been very friendly and happy. The only thing that can make me think of who would write a poor review directed at her is that she doesn't tolerate stupid questions. Granted no question is stupid when it comes towards your animals health, but when it comes towards questions that question her ability as a doctor, of course she might get upset, just as any other doctor anywhere would! The staff is a wonderful bunch of people. The secretaries are cheerful and greet me. Over the phone they are very helpful. It is expected for a slip up every now and then, we are all human. They work all day with people and there are plenty of impatient people that come in and take their misplaced anger out on them! (As I stated my experiences above). As long as patience and kindness is presented to them, they will return the patience and kindness to you. A couple that always seem to brighten my day and help are named Sonia and Shelby, I believe. The technicians at GMVH always seem happy to be there. They love on my dog when they get the chance and love seeing animals. They work very well with the doctors and do much of grunt and dirty work as one would expect. They are very friendly in rooms and when the doctor is not in they are social. They make sure I have what I need, and are sure to answer any questions I have. If they do not know, they will not hesitate to ask the doctor/bring them back in, rather than guessing at an answer that could be wrong. They paid extra attention to my cat when she had to stay a few nights with an IV and loved on her exceedingly. The atmosphere at Green Meadow Veterinary Hospital is far better than any others. I have not once heard arguing or any bad things whilst waiting. In fact, the technicians joke around a lot and even make me laugh! Even in the rooms the doctors and technicians seem so close that they have even kidded around with each other! It's such a happy atmosphere and everyone seems intent on seeing that my concerns are out to rest and that my pets' healths are put back in good condition and kept that way!

We STRONGLY advise against taking your pet here for any serious medical issues or emergency care. My boyfriend's dog became ill on Thursday, August 20th. We called and were told we could bring her in that day. After dropping her off around 4:30 PM, Dr. McCabe informed us she had pyometra and required emergency surgery. They kept her overnight on IV fluids (with no staff on-site to supervise her overnight) and scheduled the surgery for Friday morning. Following the surgery on Friday, they informed us she needed to stay another night. Saturday came, and we received no updates at all. When we drove to the clinic ourselves to check on her, we were simply told, "Oh, we meant to call." When they brought us to the back, she immediately perked up, happy, and acted completely like herself. Despite her visible improvement, the vet wanted to hold her for two more nights, setting her release for Monday morning. On Sunday, they texted us to report she was doing very well, cheerful, and walking around. We were relieved and eager to bring her home the next day. Everything changed Monday morning. First, they called to say she wasn't doing well and needed to stay longer. Two hours later, they called asking for permission to perform a plasma transfusion. We agreed, believing it would help. Less than three hours later, we received a call stating she had passed away. No explanation was provided. No insight into what went wrong, and no offer to let us come see her before attempting the transfusion. She died alone in a cage surrounded by strangers, and we were robbed of the chance to say goodbye or comfort her in her final moments. When we went to pick up her body, the vet didn't even come out to speak with us or explain what happened. To go from being repeatedly reassured that she was improving to suddenly receiving a death notification with zero transparency is completely unacceptable. PLEASE take your pets elsewhere. They deserve far better care, communication, and compassion than what this clinic provides.

He was the second such cat we brought to Arden, and we expected similar same-day treatment as the first time. I was asked whether the cat was sweet to humans enough to handle him. Apparently, if you answer "yes" to this question, even if you had been guaranteed same-day treatment over the phone, you get booted and have to wait several weeks. We didn't have several weeks. You can't confine an unfixed outdoor cat, sweet or not, inside a home with twelve other indoor and indoor/outdoor cats, some of them waiting in another line for their spay surgery. It's a company policy, they said. Avoid companies with policies. We called North Concho the next minute and were admitted there in the next ten. One extra star for the low price range and another for the doctor's professionalism. They can be really nice when the patient meets their expectations. He went out to our pickup so we would not have to carry Oliver in. Dr. Rosberg explained everything to us and reassured us about what needed to be done. Dr. Rosberg petted, soothed, and talked to Oliver the whole time. I know that Oliver never felt anything because I was holding him the whole time.
