Stopped into this Petco in the Lee Vista Promenade this weekend on the hunt for a small, free standing doggie gate to keep the pooch from going upstairs. This particular location feels a bit small, but it was clean and well stocked while offering vet services, training classes and some adoption events. They didn't have any adoptable cats this time, but I know I've seen them there before. As for my gate search, I came up empty handed unfortunately. One thing I liked was the amount of pet apparel. The store near my home hardly ever has much in stock, and while I don't normally dress my dog up, I still enjoy checking them out. The location is great with plenty of parking. Went to the grooming dept. to get my dog's nails clipped. They were so efficient and got me in and out. My dog isn't the best with other dogs and I always get nervous but they were so quick and told me when to come in to avoid other dogs. Would highly recommend, completely stress free. read more

My Petco grooming experience - If I could give zero stars, I would. From the beginning, we weren't welcomed inside of the store. When I approached the grooming center, the Spanish lady there was so unwelcoming and quite frankly rude. She looked so annoyed and made for a poor customer experience. When we were told to pick the dog back up, per one of the employees- we had to wait 10 minutes for the employee to return from lunch so we could pay for the service and grab our dog. I paid for a teeth cleaning, and the lady didn't know if it was done or not. What could have service is this?? They butchered my baby so badly. It looks like someone was rushing through it, and shaved my dog WHEN I DIDN'T ASK FOR THAT. Only a trim - which by the way looks terrible. Her tail looks like it was one cut & her main looks awful. I actually have no problem with this place as a store which is why i'm giving 3 stars. I took off 2 because what I have a problem with is their employee Tessa who needs to get checked for having chronic attitude (btw this isn't a singular instance, it's happened on multiple occasions of me visiting the store). Every other employee at this store is so nice except for her. Don't bother asking her for an item or for a question unless you wanna be met with some of the worst customer service you've ever experienced. As someone who's worked retail I understand not everyday is a good day, but when it's every single time, it's an issue. Normally I wouldn't go out of my way to mention all this but every interaction I have with her is unpleasant and I leave the store upset. read more

We have been bringing our dog here for grooming a number of times and she is a medium sized dog with a calm temperament but every time we ask for her nails to be trimmed we get some excuse as to why it wasn't done. The last time I got so pissed that I literally bought clippers laid my dog down in the store and did them myself. Don't bring your dog there, they are subpar at best. @Petco, I want my money back for all the times your services did not deliver what I paid you for. New, sleek and with a very boutique like feel this new location is a great place to stock up on your pet's needs. It's a smaller store for the chain, but it packs in all the essentials you would want. Staff is friendly and they greet you when you walk in the door. They usually have a couple people on staff, which is nice if you have questions. The parking lot is huge, so you'll have little problem finding a spot close by, especially for those of us who buy large dog food bags, this is a bonus. They have concrete floors so it's unique mix of boutique meets warehouse. Check out the treats area, they have a lot of fun items there. One down side is that due to the lack of size, they don't have any good sale or clearance areas in the store, so pretty much everything is full-price. Be sure to grab up your coupons prior to coming. I just moved to this area a year ago and my dog was recently diagnosed with cancer. He had to be put down a few months ago and i was happy that i found DR. Padin. He was very kind and helped us through the entire thing. We now have a puppy and bring him exclusively to Padin. I've been using the veterinary services with Thrive For which I pay a membership for a year and a half but this time I am really disappointed my dog came back home with vaginal bleeding when I call Thrive they said to go to a clinic or urgent care because they did not have space to see us yesterday or today and we were placed on awaiting list. I don't even know if they did a physical exam on her cause they took her to another room and did not even go over their findings other than pushing to sale the teeth cleaning she has a few lumps and the dr. This is a NEW location. They are pretty big, at least bigger than the one we have by our house. They had salt water fish tanks and in those tanks they actually had coral frags! The awesome and cool coral is difficult it find and they had it here! Way to go. There was a nice staff on hand and they were allow people to pet and hold guinnie pigs. I hate how Petco keeps the Long Rats under lock and key. They are fun to play with and watch run around. They only had 1 long rat so he or she was lonely. Store is still very clean and has that new rodent cage smell. read more

Went in looking for Churu for cats. Unable to find it on my own so I ask an associate who was stocking items. She had no idea what I was talking about and just said "if it's not on the shelf we don't have it". Made no attempt to look up the item, which as a pet store employee she should be educated about items they carry. But even if she wasn't she should have looked it up, maybe it could have been purchased online, or they could have ordered it for me, etc. But nothing. She didn't want to bother. So, I won't bother returning to that store then. Horrible customer service. read more

From team members that aren't educated in their products to not offering published sales to internet down and not able to access our rewards account. We will not return. Vetco experience - I had a scheduled and appointment for my 15 yr old dog arrived on time. The clinic does not close until 6pm. Was informed by the front clerk that I mistakenly clicked on the incorrect appointment type when scheduling online and only 15 mins were blocked out for my dogs appointment. Due to my concern for him a longer appointment would be required. I stressed to the clerk the fact that my dog had lost 3 lbs in two months, had soft stool for three days and was also vomiting. It was imperative for him to see a vet. Also let her know that I had to leave work early and drive home to get him, then drove 40 minutes to make it on time to the appointment. At that point an assistant came out and told me, the vet has no time to see him but it's important for the dog to be seen, she proceeded to had me a list for emergency clinics. (Knowing the ridiculous price difference of those clinics) Knowing that my fur child needs urgent attention, there is a vet here that we were scheduled to see. They just sent us away because the vet couldn't be inconvenienced to spend more time that what was scheduled. Its obvious this vet has no calling or passion for animals. There is no way I could see a pet suffer and not help. That being said, wish the vet and staff nothing but the same treatment they provided us with today for the rest of eternity. read more

I've read this store's reviews and still gave it a chance because my child's fish died and I wanted to let him have a living fish again. He's 5 and I wanted him to be happy. I saw the sign stating a certain type was 20% off. I looked for those fish, both available are displayed and dead. I looked around at the others. Several of the many displayed were dead, all others dead over $10. EVEN IF (unlikely) all dead just died this morning, any would have been purchased possibly for an excited little boy or girl to bring home their new fish in the last couple days to have it die today. The fish that were not already displayed dead were barely moving, besides maybe 2 out of 20+ fish. How many kids have gone home from this store with a live new fish they name and give a home to just to watch it die shortly after whether it's within a day or even week. This store is disgusting on every level, from management (if you can even call that employee a manager of anything) to animal care. Please take this warning seriously. These people absolutely do not care and under no circumstances do I think its only fish they don't care about. read more

I placed an order online as I couldn't leave the house, my dog had puppies an I needed to be with her, the order arrived and was incomplete, I called customer service and they told me the item (a nursing bottle) was out of stock so they deleted the item from my order, I told customer service what good is puppy formula without a nursing bottle, customer service told me if I was not happy to take the formula back the store for a refund, I went to the store and they didn't want to issue a refund but give me a gift card, I told them no, I paid cash (paypal) I expect cash as I have to go to Pet Supplies plus to get what I need, the cashier called the manager, the manager came to the counter and right away was on the offensive and extremely rude, she told me to accept the terms or she will have me physically removed from the store, she threatened me, in the end I got my cash refund and got what I needed at Pet Supplies plus. I'm use this Petco location three to four times a week, I haven't returned since. read more

Spacious and new feeling. When ever we stop in the store feels fresh and looks so clean. The staff is pretty friendly and we usually get asked once if we need help with anything. We've never had any problems here with employees. Just grumpy customers. So they get bonus points for having to deal with that. This Petco is right next to Epic movie theaters, Michaels craft store, 5 Below, and a bunch of restaurants. So it's a great spot to go have a fun time , eating and hanging out with friends, even catching a movie. read more

To everyone looking for a Vet who cares, please think about this review! I went for a recheck today for my dogs ears, and no one was in the vetco area at 12:19 when I arrived and sat down with my dog. Both vet rooms were full, and there was no one to greet me. When the vet tech came out of the room with another customer she said nothing to me, and then as the other customer was watching she told me it was 1:30 pm and the Doctor did not have time to do the 15 minute recheck on my dogs ears. Everyone that works in dog care at this store has a bad attitude. I would suggest getting rid of all the employees in dog care and send them to Disney's Pixie dust training. When you pay a lot of money to take care of your dog, and the care is terrible it makes you want to go somewhere else. Please watch how your dog is treated here! Instead of being apologetic he claimed "he didn't know," however everyone in the store can hear over the intercom there's a call holding for grooming (I know this because I heard it while I was inside) Bummer their prices are good in grooming, but clearly management doesn't think team work is important. read more

This review is just for the groomers. We came here a few times for our dogs to get their nails trimmed, but now drive a little further to the E Colonial location where we have Crystal see our difficult pups. (She's the best!) At this location, I always saw the girls rolling their eyes as they took care of my dogs and it would take triple the amount of time as the other location because they didn't know how to keep them calm as they shook and tried to get away. They gave us the "advice" of touching my one dog's paws more to make him less sensitive... I literally do this every day and he has no problem, so this is not the issue. Other than that, the cashiers are always pleasant and helpful. I just wish all people who worked with animals would take the time to learn how to calm down scared pets instead of complaining about it. read more

Cassandra has been grooming my Min Pin for over a year, and is the best. My dog has typical shy Min Pin tendencies, but when Cassandra first met her, she picked her up in her arms and let my dog know she was welcomed. I cannot stand places that drag dogs to the back! Cassandra grinds her nails like a pro, and was even able to polish her nails for the holidays. My dog recognizes Petco but is less resistant at the door and as soon as she sees Cassandra is cool with it. These grooms definitely helped her with people skills, and I truly appreciate Cassandra for being so loving to my dog. I have had to use another groomer there once, and still they picked her right up and made me feel comfortable about her stay. Overall love this Grooming Salon! read more

Store is brand new and organized but 4 out of the past 5 visits I've been unhappy walking out. They need to improve in their customer service big time. I thought with it being a new store the customer service would be on par but that's not at all the case for this store. Today I waited at the register for several minutes before I asked one of the groomers to page a cashier, 3 minutes later a cashier shows up- didn't apologize for the wait and didn't even thank me for my purchase.
