I haven't had a dog that needed a groomer in years. But my beautiful German Shepherd puppy smelled pretty bad, so I brought her in to get a good bath. Sarah, our groomer was fantastic with my puppy. My puppy didn't like the dryer they use so Sarah hand dried her (how cool is that). Now my puppy smells as good as she looks. I can recommend Petco for grooming and I highly recommend Sarah for your groomer. read more

It's unfortunate that I have to write this bad review. I was already feeling a bit apprehensive about taking my dog to a groomer. Needless to say it was a horrible experience. My little doggie came out looking completely mortified. I didn't get anything I paid for. My dog was still wet, no bandana, her back paw had blood on it as well. They did not grind the nails. That was my main reason for booking the appointment. They told me my pup was scared. Well, I explained prior to her being taken back that it was her first time ever getting groomed. The guy at the checkin told me it's going to be ok they were used to handle that type of situation. Clearly, that's not true. I will never take my dog for another grooming session ever again. I'm so scared now thanks to this experience. read more

Today I went to get curbside pick up and just wanted to give a shout out and thank you to the sweet young man with the giant smile on his face who carried my heavy bag of dog food out for me. I tried to give him a small tip and he would not accept it so I wanted to make sure he gets some recognition. A big smile goes a long way. Ive been taking my two dogs to get groomed here for the last few months and Robert is absolutely wonderful. He takes so much care with my senior dog and goes out of his way to make sure he's as comfortable as possible. Both of my dogs come home looking fresh and smelling great! We came here when Petco offered a nutrition consultation to help pets switch over to an artificial free diet. The first employee I talked to had no idea what I was referring too but then Gabby came over and intervened. Gabby was amazing. She talked with us about our specific pets (ages, activity levels, breeds, etc) and explained good options as well as why they would work for our animals. It turns out she is also going to school to be an exotic vet so I'm not sure if everyone is this knowledgeable or we just got lucky. We left with one of each of the bagged dry foods she recommended. She even told us if the animals don't like it after a couple days, we could come back and exchange for something else! Great customer service on their part! read more

What a complete and utter joke! We had an appointment made in advance for Sunday morning at 9:00 am grooming appointment There store opens at 10:00 am on Sunday morning even though the appointment was set for 9am. The front doors where locked when I showed up. A young man saw me standing there with my dog, as he opened the front door and let himself in for work and never said anything. No note on the front door "please wait here for appointments at 9am on Sunday". No one ever told us wait at the front door for someone to let you in. We've been there before and really liked there service but this is so unprofessional. I'm going to leave a part of our family with you! I don't think so you lost my trust !!! We called and tried to ask why we where never told about there proceeders, it was like talking to a wall. read more

I had my Pomeranian groomed here and they did an amazing job. The groomers were so friendly and took the time with him. He can be very needy, the way they explained his behavior I knew they took their time with him and his needs. I will be bringing him back. We bought our Green Cheek Conure....Blue here! The staff here had already taught him to step up. And to want to get down when he has to go to the Bathroom. They set us all up with the cage and food. These Birds do require a lot of attention. And do great in a room that is very active. We did realize after when doing more research on Green Cheek Conures that you can't cook with non stick pans up to 3 rooms away. Gives off Toxic fumes that will kill your bird. Had to go completely with stainless steel cookware. Which is fine needed to get new cookware anyway. Something to think about when buying a Parrot. A lot of Good advice on You Tube on Green Cheek Conures. They have a great Rewards program here. Earned $25. Came back and bought some toys for Blue and our Pups! Love this Petco! read more

I used to shop at Walmart for my pet needs because it was convenient, as I'd grab my pet items as I would food shop for my family. Basically one stop shopping. One day I stopped in Petco because I was noticing my dogs were having dry scalp and I wanted to see if maybe they had any advice since there isn't anyone at Walmart knowledgeable on anything. After I walked in, I've never left! They were so helpful. If someone doesn't have an answer for something you ask, they do not walk away without finding someone who does know. I don't know the training process for working there but it seems to me that everyone knows so much useful information. Every so often I see someone new, and they are not quite as knowledgeable which to to be expected, but they always apologize and get someone who is knowledgeable on the subject. And yes, my pets go to their vet regularly so I could always call their vet. But it's really nice when I can walk into my local petco with questions and they are so helpful! I go in there so often, they know who I am and I know who they are. It's really like a pet family!!! Place always looks clean and you can find pretty much everything you need. Definitely download their app. They price match on their website and they have a great vital care program that also saves money. I have 3 dogs, 2 pet rats, and a cat currently in my home. They meet all their day to day needs. Very rare something is out of stock. I have learned that the quality of my pets food is actually very important. I used to worry about price more then the quality. Everything in petco is a high quality and once you figure out which food works best for your pet (please take gel from the employees to figure that out if you are unsure) there will be no more itchy dry skin,issues with bathroom, digestion, etc. I didn't realize before, all those unnecessary fillers were not helping my dogs and the food was not geared towards my pets specific needs. Petco, the best place for pets to go. Petco has a ton of things for any type of pets. You can get things for dogs, cats, birds, chinchillas,mice,snakes, and more! The quality is great and so are the prices. When we went for kitten items for our new two kittens, we got a ton of useful coupons and saved so much money. And let me tell you, the staff are very pleasant. They have the nicest attitudes ever, and they treat you like you are their best friends. Pissed off is an understatement. I purchased a sweater for my dog less than a week ago and specifically asked the woman Christina at the register if the item could be returned if it didn't fit my dog since I didn't have him with me. She assured me it could and to bring it back if I had any issues. I go back in today to get a different size as the sweater was too small and they wouldn't let me return it and pointed to a sign taped on the glass in front of the register. I understand there are policies set in place with the pandemic but I specifically asked for this reason. I should have walked out without spending anymore of my money here and will take my business to pets plus in Mays Landing in the future where they actually appreciate their customers. I brought my puppy to this clinic for shots as I do my other two dogs. I waited in line for 14 minutes to be acknowledged even when two of the associates looked right at me and my daughter, and they carried on their personal conversation. When it was my dogs turn for his visit, I was told I was not allowed to be with my dog for his visit so I waited outside of the glass. While outside of the glass, the Vet and her associates man handled my dog, pulled the ears to his coat over his face, and the Vet Jennifer Quinan took out her PERSONAL CELL PHONE to take pictures of my puppy! I was annoyed at this and asked the associate at the counter to get her attention. The vet opened the door and I told her that what she was doing was wrong and my dog is not a toy and was just there for care and she did not have my permission to take personal pictures of my pet. She proceeded to raise her voice and say "DO NOT SPEAK TO ME THAT WAY I AM A VET!" This woman's profession has no grounds to what she did or how she spoke to me in front of my daughter. I am even more appalled at the fact that I just realized today on my dogs wellness visit records she wrote that I was belligerent to her entire staff which is a lie and that I was not welcomed back! So I paid for upcoming shots that I now cannot get done for my puppy! This place is disgraceful! Corporate did absolutely nothing about this! I won't stop writing this as long as companies like this do nothing about their staff! She was on camera man-handling my 14 week old puppy! Absolutely uncalled for! read more

Kuddos to Petco and Kristen in particular. My two elderly dogs were groomed by Kristen and other members of the staff. The dogs look truly beautiful and were not stressed at all by the experience. From the moment I walked in to inquire about grooming until I walked out with both dogs looking incredibly good, I was treated with respect and all my many questions were answered. It was a good experience for all concerned, and both girls will be going back the next time they have to be groomed. I was truly impressed and recommend Kristen and staff to anyone wishing to have their dog(s) professionally groomed at a reasonable cost. read more
