From the first phone call, to discussions with the Vet, to checking out, the staff was BEYOND…read moreamazing, kind, empathetic and professional. I was shocked to learn my dog didn't have to be an existing patient to be seen there. The Vet was extremely knowledgeable and thought out-of-the-box in terms of treatment after listening to what was going on with my dog. I'm so very grateful for their kindness during a very stressful time. I would HIGHLY recommend this facility!

Absolutely horrible…read more TLDR: the vet said she had to google how to tell a cat's age, and cut his nails past the quick so he was screaming in pain and bleeding. Vet never introduced herself so, I'll refer to her as Dr. Vet. Dr. Vet guesstimated the cat's age at 6 months old because "I think the canines come in at 6 months, idk I gotta go look that up." I'm sorry...you're going to go google it? We were later told he's 9 weeks. They took him in the back for blood tests, bringing a needle to "give this to him back there too." Give him...what exactly? Explain what you're doing to a patient, and for a first-time cat owner. We had to ask the vet tech when she came back what they gave him, and how old he actually was. She was great, literally the only positive. They say they also cut his nails. Didn't ask first. But, no big deal we thought, since it's apparently included free. Until we get home and see that he's BLEEDING. They cut his nails so short they're stubs, and 3 of them are covered in blood. I thought back to Dr. Vet saying, "He was not happy, you probably heard him screaming back here." We thought she was talking about his vaccine. Now, we know she was referring to his nail cutting, and him screaming in PAIN. Oh, and to top it all off, we called to get his records since we're obviously going to a different vet from now on. Friend explained what they did to his nails. The receptionist said, "I'm not making excuses but, you can talk to a manager if you want." I don't think that sentence even makes sense. Friend said she would just like his records, and thanks her. Receptionist says "yeah I can do that" and hangs up on her. Never sent the records either, even when I emailed after. Apparently Dr. Vet is normally the vet for emergencies, not regular care. That's horrifying. You're googling how to tell a cat's age, performing treatment without explanation, and cutting this poor baby kitten's nails (without asking permission first) past the quick to the point he's crying in pain and bleeding...people are trusting their urgently sick or dying pets there?? I wouldn't trust them with a house plant, much less a beloved animal. You shouldn't either.

I will give them at first they were very nice and accommodating and were able to schedule…read moreappointments decently quick everything considered. They were able to do the routine stuff however their ability for anything beyond yearly check up is severely lacking. We had 2 pets there, first a chocolate lab that was a senior, over 10 years old. They were alright, however Dr Dan saw him once and scared us so bad said he had some kind of heart issue and we may need to get him to an emergency vet ASAP, then came back and said he was fine. We did have him looked at an emergency vet and they could find nothing wrong with him. We let that slide, unprofessional and poor bedside manors but whatever. Then about a year later, just this past February, he was very lethargic and having issues, we called and they said it didn't seem like an emergency and they can get him in about 3 weeks. We decided to go to the emergency vet and in a matter of hours he was gone, I understand how busy it can get but the amount they just shrugged us off was disappointing for being with them for so long. Also he was on prescription food, they refused to give the prescription to Chewy and required we go through their own online store. We did, after he passed we got another delivery of his food, a few weeks later we called and asked about a refund in which they said they do not have a process to refund orders for pets who have passed. I explained to them how Chewy handles that situation, I spoke with Devon, he seemed nice however never actually called me back and gave me an answer one way or the other. I called him back again, he said he was "still working on it" and would get back to me by the end of the day. That was 3 days ago and no word at all. Mind you I was asking for a $130 refund after spending $3160 with them in a matter of 4 weeks. Not long after this our other dog, an 8 year old boxer mix needed a mole removed. They performed the operation and from there it went down hill quick. He developed a severe infection close to where the operation was, we brought him back, they did a quick test and gave us an antibiotic. He did not get better at all and kept getting worse, we went back there paid over $600 for additional tests were given a different antibiotic but still having issues. We called this morning to ask about a different form of medicine, maybe a compounded liquid. You would have thought I asked them to launch a space shuttle, nobody had any idea and "needed to consult the vet and get back to us". It took 3 hours to get a call back and they said try hiding the pill in a marshmallow, that was literally their only response. I expressed kindly that I feel my pet is not getting the care he needs and expressed my dissatisfaction that they seem to just just guessing at things and effectively throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. After I expressed that they then said they can send over a prescription to a pharmacy in southington but I was not able to get the prescription myself. They then followed up with an email giving me the pharmacy info and the info of other emergency vet offices and said we should consider a different vet. This was not an issue because I was already looking for a different one. Overall they seem like at best the practice is poorly managed, the doctors and also front desk associates seem to never actually know what's going on or provide any kind of useful information. Honestly the techs that work there are the only bright spot and must be what is keeping them in business. If you need just a basic checkup and "tech" appointment they are alright, if you need an actual vet / doctor appointment unfortunately they seem to not have the skill and ability to properly care for pets beyond the very basics. Overall a very expensive and disappointing experience and worst of all I believe both of my pets received poor care which created more issues and suffering for them.
