When I was selecting a DJ for my wedding, I was having visions of the music being ruined by some 17 year old punk in an ill-fitted rental suit. Then I found Steve. He is a great guy - very warm, personable and reassuring. After we spoke, he came and met me and my fiance in person to talk about his services. Steve was very flexible about making it customized to our wants, yet he was experienced enough to be able to suggest a fall back structure for the things we didn't know about or were indifferent about. When the wedding day came he was fantastic in that he arrived way in advance (as he said he would), was totally calm and professional, and played great music throughout the night. He was flexible enough to transition from playing music that our family's could dance to into music that my friends could dance to. What I liked best of all is that I felt totally confident in leaving the timing of things up to him during the reception and if we ever wanted to change the timing, he could do it on the spot. When I business bans a DJ, you know there is something wrong. I was afraid I wasn't going to get my deposit back because of him. Pros: 1.He did have a good music selection. The only complaint I have is that he played a couple songs twice. 2. He did show up- although he got lost and was late Cons: 1. He moved my bridal party table at the reception. Yep you read that right, go ahead and read again. I would say this guy's problems was based around one flaw- his needed to be the center of attention. Basically the set up of the event was that dinner was inside then the dancing would be outside. The vendor didn't allow music to be outside so he would have to stay inside but the dancing was literally 10 feet away through some opened glass doors. Anyways he couldn't accept that he wouldn't be in the center of attention so he tried to make room for a dance floor inside. So right in the middle of all the toasting and eating I look over and he's trying to move my bridal party table! 2. Then when we reminded him that dancing was to be outside, he started to move all his sound equipment outside which was against the rules. Maybe there was confusion so the representative from the church went to talk with him. He refused to listen to her. Then me and my husband went to talk with him (so if you can imagine now the bride and groom are up from dinner trying to handle their DJ). He refused to listen to us! Yep go ahead and read that again as well. He refused to listen to the people giving him a pay check. Finally my caterer went and handled him. 3. Then for the rest of the night he continued to break noise regulations and demand to be the center of attention. I was constantly being addressed by the reception hall representative who he was refusing to listen to. 4. About 10 sec after the last song when people are still all hugging and in the moment he walks up to us and demands a check. We gave him his check but my guests and I were surprised by his attitude and lack of tact. I guess he was upset about not being in the center of attention all night. Too many other DJ's to settle on this one. Sure MR and his website are correct in saying his is reliable and dependable. He'll show up to the event but once he gets there who knows how he will behave.

I stumbled across their instagram and thought it wouldn't hurt to get another quote (keep in mind my event was less than 2 weeks away and I mentally given up on hiring someone to decorate.) Within 24 hours they came over saw my vision and quoted me something within my budget. I decided to move forward with them and it was the best decision I made throughout my entire event! They not only did they see my vision but they made it even more beautiful! They were all so kind, courteous, and honest, it just made it so easy on me. They gave me a complete break down allowing me to make different choices if I needed to stay within my budget. I am so thankful that I was able to find that connection with Marshecka and then some!! The event I was planning was my daughter's Quinceanera. One of the most important days in a young woman's life in the latin culture! It is an event that comes together with the love and support of the entire family (immediate and extended) . Marschecka was so patient and accommodating as I had constant input and ideas that I was sharing with her. I was working with a budget but wanted the world :-) Marschecka was absolutely amazing when it came to taking my vision and working within my means!! She was able to secure a vendor that provided uplighting for the entire ballroom. WOW!! It was so beautiful! Just the lighting alone added such an amazing touch of class!! My family and daughter's friends complimented the lighting so much! She also secured a vendor that took care of the balloons for us. It was very important to us that we have balloons but that the room did not look informal or too childish. Marshecka and her vendor took our vision and found the perfect way to compliment the ballroom!! My vision was for the entire ballroom to have draping. I saw so many pictures online of events that were just breathtaking because of draping!! Unfortunately, that amazing decor comes at a very expensive price and I didn't have the budget for it. Marshecka was able to take the budget I did have and the vision I had and designed an absolutely magnificent backdrop and head table decor!! It was such a beautiful focal point!! Marshecka's style and execution was more than I could have imagined!! It was so wonderful to hear family and friends feel like they were at a royal event without it compromising my budget!! I was in the latter category, and having never participated in the wedding planning process, I had no idea what a wedding coordinator did. I only found Marshecka after I had given serious consideration to cancelling what should have been a low key wedding reception. Simply stated, a wedding coordinator is the person you don't know you need until it really starts to hit the fan. When you're feeling overwhelmed, when your vendors go MIA after you've accepted their bid, when you have no idea how your venue is going to get setup in time for your event, when those you've hired to help aren't getting the job done, and when your significant other doesn't really seem interested in anything wedding related, this is your go to person. Do yourself a favor and hire Marshecka at the initial planning stages. Wedding coordinators may seem expensive, but you'll save yourself time and money if you aren't wedding savvy. My family and friends that came to help setup our venue and deliver the décor had nothing but positive things to say about Marshecka and her team. When they needed something, her response was, "I'm on it." I thought she was a bargain for all of the work she got accomplished, and believe me, with all of the décor and vendors at our reception, she had a lot of work to do.
