Our dog has short legs and doesn't like to be picked up in NC we have wonderful service there are many leashes to attach them to sink. This location had only one and we had to ask to use it from another dog bathing person. Yes he is short and would be more suitable for the other sinks , but this is not an option when he has hard time getting in and out as it is. Also a soap we use the pump was broken so we had to open it. There were no brushes ours has them? The young lady there said sorry only 1 leash attachment available! Why not just store use one that would extend for those dogs who need it? We won't use this location again when back here. It's only 1 mile from where we stay too shame. Yes we have a wash card. Took my dog there for the first time to use their self service dog wash, for $14. What a disaster that was! A sign said recently sanitized; I guess they meant the sign not the facility. The floor was wet and slippery and covered in dog hair. The bath facility had a sliding door--which was missing. The plastic mat on the floor of the bathing area was black with dirt. It was a closed room and very humid--no AC or even a fan. Everything in there, with the exception of the towels, just screamed dirty. Guess I won't be going back. read more

This store is perpetually out of stuff. I even tried the standing order/repeat order. If you know you're going to need an item...why you wouldn't ensure you have it in stock is honestly beyond me. I try to shop small and local...but it's been 2 years...at some point I'm the idiot. The owner of this store just doesn't seem to care at all. I am polite - though I let them know it's irritating. I have tried ordering first thing in the morning as the counts don't update until night. It makes zero difference. Now I answer the phone- "Good afternoon, what are you out of?" To save time because it's like clockwork. You cannot depend on on having them stuff in stock at all. At least not the Stella and chewy items. It's literally a flip of the coin. Most of the employee are nice. I don't have expectations, it's a minimum wage job I get that so I'm not looking for red carpet service. This is a management/ownership issue. read more

Update: I got in touch with management who listened to my concerns and everyone went above and beyond to rectify this problem. This company continues to surprise me with how much they care about their customers. Thank you! I loved coming here and supporting local. This was the only company I've been buying supplies for my pets because I wanted to support a positive business that went above and beyond to help their customers. The customer service was always friendly until now. I called about returning cat litter because it had bugs in it. We had 2 unused, not opened bags and one of them got infested with bugs (and a third bag that was half empty one). When we called they advised us to bring back the bags for a refund. When we did, the manager refused any refund because it was greater than their 30 day return policy. I was never offered a store credit, bag exchanges, or any assistance to the 3 bags I've purchased from here. Her solution was to deal with the manufacturer. I have no problems reaching out to the manufacturer as I'm sure they'll actually provide options to resolving an issue unlike here. The manager was "apologetic" for the return policy. The dismissive, unprofessional desire and inability to want to find alternative solutions has turned me away from wanting to return back here for any business support. This store wasn't always the cheapest, but it did provide price match or their coupons. I honestly prefer to give my money to a better, helpful business that'll support it's community. Hopefully the manager and business takes this review seriously and finds solutions to updating their product policies. read more

I use to live 3mins away from this Pinellas Park location. I've been living in downtown St. Pete and the outrageous change in my grocery budget has been from the increase hit I've taken on pet Supplies for my senior cat. He is VERY picky and I've been limited to small selections which is also a problem cause his taste in food changes often as well so I have to change flavors up often. The prices are so much cheaper here. I use to buy all my dogs supplies here too and hermit crabs. With this Pandemic I might choose the cat supplies over the gas and make the drive to save! They do not have a selling of animals policy that can protect an animal from being sold to be killed.I contacted corporate office about my concern abd a local vets concern that a black cat was being displayed fir adoption near Holloween, where some may sacrifice them in a ritual around this holiday, and requested that a policy be put in place whereby the store manager can withhold the cat from being sold at least on Holloween day...I was informed by customer rep. The corporate office that " that will be considered discrimination against a person or religion even if it meant the animal was going to be killed" read more

I usually love this store. Been shopping here for years. I had 2 dogs that passed away when they were 16 and 12 years old. The staff is usually friendly, helpful and understanding. I went in the store to make a purchase and exchange a bag of flushable litter that the cat would not use. I did not want to pour the litter from the cat box that the cat would not use back in the bag being returned so it was not a full bag. I did my best to explain the situation to the manager Heather Power but she would not work with me since the bag was open even though only a small amount was missing due to the specific circumstance. The manager weighted the bag and claimed she cannot exchange the unused litter. The staff spoke to me in a way that made me feel as if I was trying to get away with something instead of seeing things for what they were and working with the issue. The cashier even suggested I may have purchased the product from another store but they ended up seeing it was this store. I decided to test this manager to see how another store would handle this situation and I was AMAZED to see how easy the exchange was. I simply walked into another store and explained the same situation and had 0 issues. They were understanding and courteous and advised it was not a problem and even apologize for what this store put me through. I went to this location for only one reason, they have the only self service dog wash stations in the area. The cost per dog is 10.00 but if you buy 5 washes you get it for 5.00 each. The stations have towels, blow dryer hose, and also provide a various soaps. It was exactly what I needed as I have 3 dogs and they can be a handful! read more

The groomer butchered my golden retriever. First, I walk in to see Bailey in a kennel which I asked them not to do. Second, I'm informed that the groomer snipped Bailey in her rear paw pad and had to be the vet to come check it out because she was bleeding. Third, the groomer SHAVED HER FACE. It's all splotchy now and looks ridiculous. Never have I had this done before, because it's never needed. Any trained groomer would know this. All the while I'm standing there, the other groomer is very harshly scolding the poor little dog that is on her table. DO NOT USE THESE GROOMERS! read more

I was shocked at how much merchandise was in this store, tucked away in a small strip plaza. I received a friendly greeting upon arrival, found what I needed, and was met with a friendly cashier. They have premium foods like Merrick, litter pans of all sizes, toys galore and they even had pet Halloween costumes. I highly recommend this place. It is in the plaza at Park and Belcher, next door to Publix. They did have a few kitties up for adoption that were too adorable. I don't know how often they do that or on what days. Worst store manager ever. Quit going a year ago and now get everything I need on Amazon, delivered to my door, for much cheaper than at this store. The same brands for less money. We stopped going here when the store manager argued with giving us the price we were charged for a product back. We had the receipt and could prove what we were charged but she wouldn't even look at it. She went by the markdown price on the box but the receipt showed we were charged full price. We walked out and over a couple dollars never went back and they lost our business and we saved money going elsewhere. It's a win for us and a loss for the store. read more

While the staff is friendly, they are not well versed in pets or pet supplies. However, this store does offer a variety of hard to find premium pet foods that you can not find in Pet Smart. They also have a discount card -every 10 bags of dog food you buy you get one for free! Another perk is when you check out at the register, they have a bin with some free samples! read more
