I was picking up some dog food and while I was in the aisle I watched a small dog attempt to jump but slipped instead off a 4foot+ grooming table because it was wet and he wasn't properly secured .. the man grooming him acted like it was nothing but it was such a high jump it really hurt my feelings ! It was seriously a miracle it didn't break a leg. Take your pet somewhere that they care because this store is not it! read more

The aisles at Pet Supplies Plus are bursting with items that pet enthusiasts and their pets will find interesting, and prices seem reasonable. However, the reason I go there is that their self-serve dog wash is the best deal in town. For $25 you can buy a punch card good for five washes, which is perfect for me and my two stinky, hairy pups. I love getting them clean without the mess & discomfort of bending over them in the bathtub for an hour. Service was great with a friendly cashier and a clerk who positioned herself near at hand, should I have any questions or need assistance. The one downside is that Pet Supplies Plus doesn't stock conditioner in their dog wash, which is pretty standard at other places, so I had to buy a bottle there. My dogs loved buying a couple of hand decorated cookies and a giant jerky treat as a reward for getting clean, though, and I'm excited about the clip on lights I picked up for nighttime walks at $3 each. I needed a filter for my cats water fountain, the places I regularly go were out of stock. So I went to this place and I was amazed! The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable on the products they sell! They went above and beyond to make sure i had everything I needed! I would just like to say thanks to the young man who helped me today! I have a big Doberman and sometimes he isn't as well behaved as he should be. This is the first time I took him out in awhile and he was very very excited and pulling on his leash pretty hard trying to say hello to everyone. I asked the man for help in purchasing a nice harness. He took the time to hand pick different harnesses that he thought would fit and helped hold my dogs leash while I got to try them on. I left very very happy and thankful someone would take the time to help me. He could tell I was sweating and shook up trying to juggle my dog plus my keys and wallet. Thanks so much! I heard great things about this place. I needed to bathe my dog and someone told me that they had a punch card - $25 for 5 washes. What a deal! They have towels, shampoo, and they even give you a plastic apron so you don't get soaked. The manager, at least I think he was the manager, was super nice and helpful and showed me what to do. He even helped lifted my pup up for me because she wouldn't go up the stairs and I have a bad back. The aisles were organized and the store was super clean, they also gave me a membership card, and my pup got a treat. I will definitely be back! read more

Great customer service all the way around. We came in just to buy a couple fish for our two year old sons fish tank. We were greeted with a big smile from every associate that we encountered from the time we entered to the time we left. It's very well stocked and has a doggo wash station in the back. Prices are on par with on line, and you will feel good about supporting a local business. This is our favorite pet store in the Quad Cities. :) read more

I dont understand how you can offer a service such as nail trimming and then not have qualified staff to do the service. My husband took our hound Rabbit for a nail trim because he's wiley and spooks easy (he was rescued from an abusive owner) One would assume offering the service of nail trimming you would have a an experienced person who is qualified for all types of dogs and situations. First off they either didnt have or just didnt offer to use a grooming table with a head stall to secure my dog. That right there is a serious safety issue. Then the 2 young ladies clearly didnt have any experience handling big dogs. My husband had to hold him, which Rabbit didnt appreciate. They acted scared to cut his nails so of course we didnt get it finished. One of the girls suggested dremmeling his nails and my husband couldnt believe she would even suggest that as he wouldnt tolerate a pair of clippers, how the hell do you think he's going handle a noisy machine sanding his big thick coonhound nails? It was a freakin disaster. I realise my dog isnt the easiest but any qualified groomer would laugh at him and get the job done. We ended up doing the trim ourselves at home. This review is nothing personal against the girls, they were very sweet and honestly wanted to get the job done, it was just not a job they were qualified to do. Also, had he gotten a good trim, 15$ seems very fair. read more

I went in to grab crickets and while waiting in line behind a woman who had a big purchase, customers were walking in a few minutes before close and Amber, not sure if she was a manager or not told the customers that walked in that they are closing in 2 minutes if you know what you want, hurry up and told the next customer that came in at close she said were closed he said i just need to grab one thing and he was told to hurry up, I get it, its closing time and the employees want to get out but she could have said it in a nicer manor and not have been rude and have an attitude when she should have locked the doors at 6 p.m (closing time) so no one else could enter. I will not be shopping there anymore. Not good customer service at all. read more
