I was in the store about a month and a half to two months ago and I was getting some crickets for my long tailed brown lizard and I went over to where the crickets are and there was no one there that works at the store so I went around the whole store to look for someone else And couldn't find another worker except at the register. So I went back over to where the crickets are, and pushed the button that says push for assistance. I waited, pushed it again and again and again about five times and waited a total of about a half hour and no one came so I went over to the register and asked the lady if she could page someone from the back room and she said it'll be a minute I gotta help these like 20 customers first that she was already ringing out and the customers in line said she could page someone but she said no I'll have to wait. So I stormed out after yelling at her and I've been going to Patco down the street ever since. Petco is way way better. I do not recommend shopping at PetSmart. They are absolutely rude and no one likes to help customers there. read more

I can't count how many times my dog has been denied grooming services because the Pet Smart Davenport, IA Grooming staff (specifically Nancy) can't do their jobs and properly record vaccination records. On top of that, their customer service is terrible! Imagine how horrible they are to our pets if they treat customers so poorly!! Maybe that is the reason my dog is so scared to go to PetSmart! I would recommend finding a different groomer who actually can do their job and be respectful. That is what we are doing. read more

My dog, Cookie, has been going here since she was 4 months old. Our regular groomer is Breyanna and she does an exceptional job. When Cookie was a little pup Breyanna really worked with her to make sure she was comfortable, rewarded and loved. Cookie is going on 16 months old and has no problem getting groomed. Breyanna has worked with me on style requests and I feel she is a partner in the look of my dog. Cookie goes in monthly for grooming and about every two weeks to get her nails clipped. i know someone that came here to get guinea pig who is almost 18 years old, she was with her 18 year old boyfriend. When trying to get the guinea pig she was told that because she is only 17 she can not get it. Once she told the worker that her boyfriend is 18 and she is almost 18 and that he can buy it, she was still not able to buy it because the worker said that because she had already been there for a hour she's knows it would be for her even if her boyfriend bought it. This is completely uncalled for and she is almost an adult and should be able to get it if someone over 18 is buying it. Parents buy their young children pets all the time, why can't an adult buy and animal for a 17 year old. Not sure who this worker was but she was very disrespectful and she had a very bad experience there. read more

I have an elderly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that is a couple of months to her 18th birthday. Her hips and legs are weak, but she has a will to live. Standing for long periods are hard. Groomers here have developed a loving, sweet relationship with her. They hold her, talk sweetly, and anticipate her energy level to make modifications in her care. On one grooming date I was called early because my dog was too exhausted and they didn't want her stressed. I SO APPRECIATE THAT LEVEL OF ATTENTION! Yesterday three groomers stopped to help. One was off the clock, but loved my dog. Each groomer chipped in with their personal equipment that best suited my dog's unique needs. As we walked out of Petsmart my old girl was SMILING and moving with happy energy the rest of the evening. My hat is off to this crew! read more

Do not buy fish here unless you want grilled about your tank size. The lady rudely informed us our tank was too small for the fish we wanted and IT WILL DIE then storming off. I appreciate the concern but the manner/tone was very condescending and rude. If they are so concerned why do many of the tanks contain dead and/or diseased fish? I have never had fish buying be such a dramatic experience before, lol. read more

The only positive thing I have to say about this place is that they get the job done and it's easy to find appointments for grooming. The last time I brought my doggy in (who is a sweet dog who squirms occasionally if uncomfortable but does not nip or argue), they charged me extra because he squirmed too much while they did his face. REALLY? It's the most expensive place I've been (and more than Petco, which is just down the street) and I pay even more yet because the groomer is either too inexperienced or too impatient? I think not. I'd go here in a pinch, but I'm not into paying $10 or more EXTRA per grooming in addition to already costing more. Again, Petco is down the street. They're cheaper, they do just as good a job, and not once have they ever charged me extra for my dog being too twitchy. read more

This place is a fraud. They lie about what services they perform and then when caught in the lie, they claim it is the dogs fault. Waited for help in the fish department for nearly 20 minutes and was ignored. Not a single cashier at checkout with several customers wanting to checkout. Also every single live barrier tank had severe cases of ick and several dead fish in every tank. I do not recommend purchasing sick fish from this ill staffed store. I occasionally shop at this store. It's got a lot of products to choose from and they have a good selection of dog treats for pretty good prices. The customer service just isn't that great. Most times I go in no one seems to acknowledge me and I always have to go to the front to ask for help, which always takes a long time. The workers always seem to be rushed so I don't always get the help I need. One good thing is I do see lots of animal shelters there on weekends. read more

Terrible customer service. I take my dog in to be groomed and am turned away because I didn't bring her updated shot records. I understand why they are needed, but they had all day to call and tell me it was needed (as I had no clue) as my appointment wasn't until after 6PM and they didn't because I booked online. Yet I clearly see the sheet where you have my dog and at least 3-4 others highlighted in green and "Updated Vaccinations Needed" written on it. How can you expect customers to read your mind. A courtesy call should have been made to the clients for that day. Instead I had to leave. Unacceptable and I will not be going back. read more

I have shopped at many petsmarts before and like the friendly atmosphere. However this is the second time I have come to this location and the first thing I see when I walk in the door and look into the grooming salon there are always associates sitting on tables. This was later on in the evening on this recent occasion but it looked very unprofessional especially being right in the front of the salon. When I looked in at the associate she glared at me and did not move from her seated position. Even if they are amazing groomers and are great at their jobs it would be very hard for me to give them a chance and take my dogs here when they look so upset and over all bored to be there. I will still get my dog food from this location but will not be using the salon until I start seeing some friendly faces. read more

Awful grooming experience!! When I dropped my dog off there were two other dogs being dropped off at the same time. When I walked in I showed them a picture of my dog and how I wanted him to look.. After the consultation she told me it would be 3 hours.. I went back to the store after 3 hours since I hadn't received a call and they hadn't even started grooming my dog yet (meaning he had been kenneled for a good 3 hours now!). To make it worse once he was done he looked NOTHING like the picture I had showed them. They gave my dog a beard and bangs which specifically asked them not to do. I took my three dogs to PetSmart for grooming for several years and have always had trouble with them. They hire rude people with all kinds of piercing and tattoos, which sets me off to begin with. The grooming department is always in chaos no matter what time I have taken the dogs in. Their customer service is terrible---they treat the customer as if PetSmart is doing a big favor to groom their dog. Last Straw-Saturday I called for an appointment, simple 2 minute call, right? No I was on the phone for 15 minutes with a person who had no idea what information she needed to get from me. She kept talking to another employee while I waited on the phone. I asked her to verify that all my dogs' shots were up to date to avoid a last minute surprise and she said no problem, even reading me the dates they were due. We made an appointment for Thursday. Wednesday I had a reminder call concerning the appointment and the girl said they would also need updated shots for one of the dogs. I told her I had asked when I made the appointments and was told they were all up-to-date; nevertheless, she said they needed proof. Keep in mind it is not easy to take three dogs to the vet and/or the grooming salon. So I called my vet and they squeezed us in to update all their shots. We took the three dog in this morning to get the shots and then took them to PetSmart this evening. They refused to take them to groom because it hadn't been 48 hours since they had gotten their shots! I was so angry! I told the counter girl that they had failed to tell me until yesterday that anything was needed She was sorry, but too bad. I spoke to the manager and he was sorry too, but policy is policy. I told them I would not be back and I will not! I would not even give them one star actually. read more
