I am a senior cat owner with a back fusion. I stopped in for some cat litter and purchased two-35 lb cartons. I could not even lift it into my shopping cart and I walked to the front of the store and explained this to the friendly sales associates. Immediately, a young man said, "No problem. That's what we are here for!" He brought the 2 items to the check out and waited for me to pay and brought it out to my car. He then thanked me for coming in. I am pretty sure his name was Alex. I love this local store and they are focused on customer service. Their prices are great and then such great service. I came in looking for help, needing a self-serve dog wash for my 2 dogs. I was up front with the first employee I spoke with, and paid for an extra bath just to make sure I had enough time to brush and comb, because my dogs had fleas. Nowhere on the website or on any signage in the store, does it say the dog wash cannot accommodate flea baths. I asked several people for advice whom said they use it for that purpose beforehand, to see if it was okay - because I was unsure myself. (I do understand the risks of taking infested dogs in public. That's why I was looking for help.) Basically, I was up front with the employee, said my dogs had fleas, and even purchased a flea comb from this employee later. (He was very helpful and friendly.) Upon leaving, I knew the wash station was a mess and I wanted to clean it up. I asked about a mop to do so, and was informed by another (perhaps higher up) employee that I should not have brought my dogs in with fleas, that I had now put the entire staff and their pets and families at risk. I was so embarrassed. I mentioned it first, and nothing/nobody said it was not okay. "In the future, we'd ask..." it doesn't matter what you ask. I won't bother you again, I'll seek professional help elsewhere. Perhaps I've misunderstood the purpose of a public dog wash in a closed-off room away from other animals... but I didn't misunderstand the lack of signage or the embarrassment I felt. That all being said, the facilities were adequate for my dogs, and I liked the blow-dryer feature. I do wish I had gone back to finish cleaning up, but I felt very unwelcome. read more

If you're looking for a wide variety of food, toys, and other pet essentials, I highly recommend this store. While the interior is very drab and a bit poorly lit, they have some of the best prices in town with an incredibly large selection of products of varying qualities and price points. The staff is friendly, and is willing to help you get a good deal or the product you desire. They have a few animals to adopt: fish, lizards, bunnies, and the occasional cat. read more
