Hi Mike. You have proved that it is definitely possible to teach an old dog new tricks! Your advice…read morehas transformed our relationship with Angel, our 11-year-old rescued Bichon. We've had her for about a year but her possessiveness over food and resources was getting much worse and we were really worried that things were not going to work out with our current family situation. After one home visit from you, we have put in place all of the advice and training measures you suggested and everything is going really well. The daily growling incidents have reduced considerably now we know how to avoid and distract. Mealtimes in particular have improved - we are putting only small amounts of food in her bowl, then putting it down after she waits and then repeating the process until she has had the whole portion. One of the key things you helped us realise, is that just because she is 11, not to let her get away with things. For example, she used to have a set route she preferred for walks, with lots of little foibles about where to cross the road and stop at certain points. We used to indulge her routines and because she is an old dog, let her do what she wanted. But now, if we want to go left and she doesn't, I stand still until she stops pulling. Then I start to move towards the way I want. If she pulls again I stop, and I do not look at her. Eventually she starts to come towards me and once we are trotting off in the new direction she is fine. Thanks again for your advice. It has made Angel a much happier little lady.

We had puppy 1-2-1's with Ami in 2016 and then went on to complete Puppy Foundation, Intermediate…read moreand Improver classes - our dog Luna (now 4yrs old) loved using her brain and we as owners learned a huge amount about the way dogs *really* think and learn; classes gave us fresh ideas on how we could motivate through play to build a strong bond and train through games so that training was enriching and something Luna enjoyed. Ami uses 100% force-free methods and no negative reinforcement /positive punishment which is scientifically proven to be the most effective way to train a dog. dog training has come a long way in recent years and old-school dominance and fear based methodologies debunked. Unfortunatley the industry is still completely unregulated but CDS holds accreditations from recognised bodies (APDT) to assure dog owners of their up-to-date and constantly reviewed techniques. Luna was quite barky in class to begin - she was fearful and alert. Ami told us how we could begin to change Luna's emotional association with things she was afraid of and allow her to build confidence through distance and choice - we have used and adapted these techniques for so many different scenarios... the knowledge has been priceless. Luna is now a well balanced, confident and friendly adult dog and has completed kc good citizen scheme with Cheshire Dog School. In 2017 we adopted a fear reactive (barked and lunged at everyone) 15mnth old dog, Annie, who had never been socialised or house trained. Ami gave us a telephone consultation prior to Annie arriving which included advice on how to introduce a second dog and followed up with a home-visit once she had arrived to help us read body language and form a strategy to help Annie learn to cope. Annie completed CDS Adult beginners class and attended improver classes - she walks off lead in public places and has a large repertoire of tricks under her belt which she loves doing. CDS is best suited for people who want to learn how to read and interact with dogs in order to get the best from a human-dog relationship. I can't bear to think the damage we might have done if we had used training advice from books or TV programs. I can count on one hand the people I trust with my dogs and Ami is one of them. I cannot recommend her enough.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!…read more I hired Peter due to the good online feedback I had read and boy did I make a mistake. 6 facts about my experience with Peter: 1. I payed £300 upfront for 3x 2-2.5 hour lessons. 2. My dog was nervy around him, so didn't show any of her naughty behaviours. Understandably, this made training difficult. 3. The first 2 sessions he taught me nothing. Simply sat on my sofa throwing chicken at her and took us on a walk. 4. In total, these sessions were just over 3 hours long. 5. He did not turn up for the final session. No pre warning, no apologies, just didn't turn up. 6. He did not provide me with a training plan as promised. 7. He avoided all my attempts to get hold of him for two weeks. 8. When finally getting hold of him, I requested my final £100 back, as he had not come for the final session, and he refused. During this 8 minute phone conversation, Peter was SHOUTING at me, calling me all sorts of names, interrupting me when trying to talk and laughing at me. From my atrocious experience, I find Peter to be an angry, arrogant man, who is extremely unprofessional but great at doing diddly squat for peoples hard earned money. I don't doubt for a moment that Peter will comment on this review and lie through his teeth, like he did on the phone, but I promise you that the above bullet points are completely truthful.

Genuinely disappointed that he turned out to be a scam artist as I was patient with his constant cancellations and constant rescheduleing but the way he spoke to me is vile hence why a charge back done directly with my card provider as when you question him like a true con artist he turns very nasty! Very disappointed peter please guys avoid at all costs. I have txts conforming that he NEVER provided training yet when going through a claim he LIED and said he had provided training that I just hadn't followed it - GOBSMACKED that he can lie so blaitently. Will be going the legal route with him should he not leave me alone. I paid for a service I never received and that's 100% factual; I've seen so many other reviews exactly like mine, he lies until you does him and then he snaps and turns nasty. I shall await your arrgant aggressive and confrontational reply should I Peter! Isnt it strange how all the reviews stating you were bullying and abusive to them come from women!? Perhaps try speaking to a man the way you've spoken to us?
