Very disappointed. When I arrived, I entered a large empty waiting room with a locked door at one…read moreend and CCTV in one corner. There was no greeting, or acknowledgement that we'd been noticed. After 5-10 minutes, the vet opened the door and said he'd be with us soon. After the previous customer had left, I went in with two very ill rats, both of which clearly needed putting to sleep. He proceeded to poke and prod them, shoving them around on the old and yellowed plastic which covered the operating table. Both were clearly distressed, as was I, and he continued by insisting my male rats were female; and he roughly and unnecessarily felt them for tumours. After agreeing that we needed to have them put to sleep, he explained that it should cost 40€ each, but he would do both for one price; and that he would not dispose of them because it costs too much - I'd need to find a hole to put them in. He then injected them both while I was watching, and gave no warning that it would be unpleasant for them, so even the one one which was barely conscious squealed in pain. Because he had underestimated the amount to inject, he had to go on and give them two or three further injections, each of which was clearly very painful for them, and even more painful for me to watch. He made up something about the amount of adrenalin in their systems because of an alpha rat in the cage - more likely any adrenalin was generated by being stabbed with large gauge needles several times. I was devastated at his unsympathetic and businesslike treatment (which others have also mentioned in their reviews), and would never visit him again.
