I have a problem with my balance so my husband is the one who walks our two dogs. He was going to be out of town for a week and we needed someone to take his place. Pet Sitters by the Bay's dog walking service was recommended to me by Pet Stop in Sehome Village. When I called Thomas, I was immediately impressed by his professionalism and friendliness. He wanted to meet us and the dogs before he agreed to walking them. We made an appointment for him to come to our house. I knew the minute he came in the door he was a dog person. Our dogs are noisy and tend to be over enthusiastic in their greetings. That didn't bother Thomas at all. He immediately sat down on the floor and began petting them. He asked questions and was very thorough. He had us fill out paper work about the dogs, their vaccinations, health and name of their vet. He also does dog sitting so we went ahead and filled out the paperwork for their care and feeding just in case we may want to have him do that in the future. We agreed on a very reasonable price, set up a window of time for him to walk the dogs each day and signed the contract. He expects to be paid in full in advance and that was fine with us. Later that same afternoon he emailed us a receipt for our payment. The first day he came to walk the dogs he brought copies of all the paperwork we had filled out. Like I said a real professional. He as done a superb job and the dogs adore him. We plan to call on him again when my husband goes out of town in the Spring. I highly recommend his services. read more

I recently became a first-time client of Pet Sitters by the Bay. I worry and fret about who might take care of my two cats, Lita and Mae-Mae. But, I was so calmed and reassured when Thomas (Wagner) arrived for the initial introductions and consultation. Lita hid somewhere, even I couldn't find her. I was impressed because Thomas was thorough in knowing and assessing how our, "normal household" functioned. He was totally involved and interested in any of the quirks, or special activities that my kitties enjoyed, so that he might incorporate them during his daily visits. After meeting with Thomas we felt very reassured leaving our dog and cat in his care for several days. He was very thorough getting details of our pets needs during our initial consult. We looked forward to each pet visit photo he sent during our trip and felt our animals were happy and in great hands. Pet Sitters By The Bay was the best find for pet care I have found since moving to Bellingham. Both of my indoor cats were well cared for, played with and happy when I returned from a week long trip. They are not used to being left alone and I was worried. Thomas not only cared for my indoor kitties, he also put a can of food out for my outside feral each day. And the daily diaries were fun to read when I came home. Each kitties daily journal of what they were doing during his visit. I would highly recommend this company. Very professional and friendly! Excellent service. Thomas took the time to meet and bond with my cat, George, during the interview process before I went on my vacation. I felt very comfortable entrusting my "guy" and my home in their care. I will admit that the funniest part was when I returned home and found a report card and several daily reports regarding George's behavior (i.e. eating/drinking, playing, and toilet maintenance).
