We try to support vendors for our team events, but our experience with "Paint the Town" was chaotic…read morefrom start to finish. We booked a premium, full-service package for a team-building afternoon, but instead of relaxing, my team spent the entire time stressing, moving boxes, and cleaning up after the staff we hired. We aren't trying to be difficult clients; we simply wanted the service we paid for. Instead, we faced a massive burden: The setup was chaotic and late: For a group our size, the policy is a 40-80 minute setup window. The facilitator didn't show up until 1:33 PM for a 2:00 PM start. Her assistant didn't arrive until after the event started. We were left watching the clock, wondering if our event was even going to happen. We had to manage their logistics: The assistant arrived late and without ID. Since we are in a secure office building, she couldn't get in. Instead of the vendor handling this, my team had to stop what they were doing, leave the event space, and go down to the lobby to retrieve her and haul up the supplies she was carrying. Dismissive attitude: Mistakes happen, but the facilitator's attitude made it worse. She was dismissive about being late and shockingly unhelpful regarding her own assistant's supplies. At one point, when asked about the materials her assistant brought, she refused to help, telling us she "couldn't hang onto that." It felt like we were imposing on her, rather than the other way around. My team did the physical labor: Because they were so behind, the setup wasn't done until 2:30 PM--30 minutes into our paid time. To save the event, my colleagues and I had to step in and physically unpack boxes, set up stations, and distribute materials. We paid for a full-service event but ended up doing the heavy lifting ourselves. Contract issues: We paid extra for the "all new supplies" option so our team could keep their materials. Despite this, the facilitator packed up and took many of the paints and brushes back with her. They walked out on the mess: Despite the event starting late due to their tardiness, the facilitator refused to stay a minute past 4:00 PM. She started aggressively cleaning up while people were still painting, then bolted out the door right at 4:00, leaving us to finish the cleanup and break down the boxes. I cannot recommend this vendor. We paid for a fun, stress-free afternoon and instead received a chaotic experience where we had to work as the setup and cleanup crew.

Hey, one can paint in his/her underwear while drinking a glass/bottle of wine or having a delicious homemade cocktail. The instructor for the two sessions (I believe her name is Matilda) seems like a very friendly and fun painter. Ordering the paint supplies was pretty much a breeze, and the company ships pretty much everywhere in the US. For our virtual event, we had one participant who lived in California, and I believe that she received her materials within a few days. The kits come with a canvass, assorted colors of paint, an apron, 3-4 brushes, and a mixing plate. You have to provide your own beverages. ;) I have to say that Paint & Sip definitely makes sure that you have more than enough painting materials and supplies. In fact, I only needed to order the pre-recorded video for the second event because we still had enough paint from the first one. Maybe I'll even make it to the studio for an event.

Most of the instructors were wonderful, offering guidance when I asked and space when I needed it. It is very reasonably priced and remains a true NYC institution. The only instructor I would caution against is Pat Lipsky. I found her conceited and negative, even spiteful at times. If your aesthetics do not align with Immanuel Kant or Clement Greenberg, you may not feel welcome in her class. After she asked me to help set up her studio for a visiting curator, I left the class. From that point on, she refused to acknowledge me when we crossed paths. Still, the overall experience was deeply meaningful. I am grateful for the time I spent here and the ways it shaped my work and friendships.

A pet-lover's DREAM date night! We joined Michele for her Valentine's Day Pet Portrait Fun and it is still all we can talk about more than a week later. We sent Michele two pictures of our dog Leo (who we very much treat like a child) about two weeks in advance. She expertly illustrated Leo, truly capturing his personality. When we showed up to the bar, she had everything ready for us. We just ordered a drink and got to work! After tracing her beautiful illustrations of Leo, we painted him with watercolors. My favorite part was how incredibly helpful Michele was every step of the way. It was a fun, open environment where no stupid questions existed. Even though neither of us are close to artists, we are so proud of our end product. I can't wait to go back and paint my mom's dogs for an extra special Mother's Day gift! We had a lovely afternoon painting our black lab Nash with Michele. My fiance got me this as a Christmas gift. First of all, we really appreciated Michele being flexible when we had a conflict come up on the day we originally scheduled and letting us postpone to a couple of weeks later. We went to a session at dba, a dog-friendly bar in the East Village (we didn't bring our dog because we live in Brooklyn and he doesn't do well on the subway, but it would have been extra fun if we had -- we may try again at a class in Brooklyn). Michele had sketched out an outline for us to start with from two pictures we sent her (so we didn't paint the exact same thing.) I have a little bit of experience with watercolor, but my fiance had none, and both pictures turned out great with the started sketch and with her instruction/input as we went. I had a great time and loved this event. I love paint nights and when I discovered the chance to paint my puppy while spending time with real puppies at Boris and Horton, it wasn't even a question! I had a great time painting my pet and Michele was super helpful and friendly and gave a lot of individual attention to make sure we have the best paintings we want and answer all our questions. At this location people also brought their pets and as a pet lover it is so fun to spend time with live animals too. This was a great way to relax and have a fun time and make new furry and human friends! I couldn't bring my pet because of logistics but you can bring your friendly furry friends! Such an amazing night! My friend recruited me for this Paint Your Pet Party. She'd been to a couple of these parties before and I'd expressed interest in going the next time she went. What a great concept! You email Michele your pets picture and voila! It appears in a black and white outline at the party for you to paint. I loved that it's something different to do with your pet. You bring your pet. Paint your pet and hang out with others and their pets! It was just an all around fun night! And I got to catch up with my friend! Michele is very personable. And was very patient and accommodating to us "amateurs". I definitely learned a lot about painting with watercolors. Would definitely do this event again. And recruit others as well! read more

Such a fun experience. I was looking for something my husband and I could do together and stumbled upon this idea of painting a portrait of your pet. How wonderful and creative! We have a little shih tzu dachshund mix that we love to pieces and what better way to do something together the three of us and be able to take away a custom piece of art. Michele pre-sketches a picture of your pet and guides you through painting using water colors...which is much more forgiving than other paint. No art experience needed. We painted at a bar called d.b.a. Great location and so so amazing that they allow dogs. Thank you so much!! read more

If you need some tips she is more than happy to help but really lets you go at your own pace and let's you foster your own creativity. I have done 3 of these events so far and I really enjoy them! What's better than going out and bringing your dog? Well, I would say going out, bringing your dog and painting him! Michele is so talented and really captures the essence of your pet through the photo you provide for her to sketch. In turn the color mixing and painting the picture, even if you don't have any artistic ability, allows you to be so creative and is so much fun! My boyfriend Ryan and I had such a fun time at one of Michele's pet painting parties in Central Park! We both drew portraits of Empress, Ryan's cat. It was amazing seeing each portrait come together the way they did. Michele does a really good sketch of your pet and provides advice on how to paint them so don't worry if you lack painting instincts. I've done regular paint nights before but this pet portrait session with Michele was so much more fun and unique. Our small class was held at the Barking Dog's outdoor patio, so it was really nice to be able to have a bit of fun while still following Covid precautions. After selecting your piece, you go over to the paint supplies where someone will help you pour paint onto a little card (you can go back to request more paint when you run out). Each table has a sponge, bowl of water, multiple brushes (and a dot tool) as well as a paper placemat. We ended up staying for about two hours and found the whole experience relaxing and enjoyable. The staff was also very nice and helpful including getting us a dropper tool in order to do finer details. We paid at the end ($8 per person plus the cost of your pottery piece), and provided contact info to pick up our pieces after 1 week. Would def recommend coming here!

Until enrollment, she talks very nicely and once the enrollment is done, you'll see the worst side of the owner. not being flexible in reschedules, if you forget to resch before 24 hours (only through her website which sucks, no phone, no sms etc.,), you'll lose a makeup class, no resch for a makeup class etc., Out of 2 hours painting/drawing class, first 3o minutes, i saw kids doing nothing or wandering here and there. Multiple class cancellation. Also she can cancel classes at any point in time, literally just 1 hour before the class supposed to start.
