This place is horrible! I did a lot of research to find the right place for my shihtzu and based on reviews thought this place would be great. He was there from 9 am until 3:30 pm. When I dropped him off I was reluctant because he was shaking like crazy. He is normally like this with groomers, he gets very nervous and afraid but would never bite or hurt anyone. I told them this and they said okay and asked me what I wanted done and that they would take care of my baby. I picked him up and they made me pay before I saw him. They brought him out and said oh by the way he popped a blood vessel in his eye. They said he was very nervous so they had to really hold him still to cut around his face. They told me he was not in any pain and vet services were not necessary. Once we got in the car he started to whimper and scratch at his eye, I could tell he was clearly in pain because he does not normally act this way. I called the vet and she asked me to bring him in immediately. I did and the end result was that they were holding him so tight by the neck that his eye was strained and popped out further than normal. This caused a layer of the eye to swell up over the outside of his eye and he had a big lump above it due to swelling in the back of his eye. I had to get medicine and pay for the vet bills which all came out to $80. That was not including payment to the groomer which was $40. I called them in the morning explaining what the vet told me and that I was very upset that they told me not to go because he was fine. They were just lucky it didn't impair his vision according to the vet! They refused to pay for vet bills and would not offer a refund. They barely apologized! They told me they have a sign that says they are not responsible for what happens to ill tempered animals which they said my dog did not once try to bite them or get aggressive so I'm not sure why that would pertain to my dog. I am very displeased with the way they handled the situation. They could have at least called me and said my dog was being too hard to handle and I would have gladly picked him up. They did not need to hurt him! I would not recommend this place to anyone solely based on their extremely unprofessional manner. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Pet Paradise! I recently moved back to the area from Atlanta and finding the right groomer was very important to me. I have a little 11 year old Shih Tzu and she is my baby. I found Pet Paradise via a friend from Facebook who has two Shih Tzus. Her fur babies always looked so cute, so I asked where she took them. When I arrived, they asked a lot of good questions, made my baby and me feel welcomed and I left her there feeling she would be ok. When I picked her up, she was my happy bouncy baby and looked adorable. The groomer shared my baby did nip a bit when working around her mouth area and when she was trying to get out something sticky. She explained she decided to try a warm cloth and that worked well. I'm definitely going back and recommend them to anyone. It is terribly sad what happened to the other person who made a review out here. If I was her, I would be horrified too. Yet, my experience was such the opposite it's hard to believe it's the same place. read more

I couldn't praise this place enough! I have been taking Chloe to pet paradise for about four years now. M dog is very hyper and most can not handle her. My mother refuses to keep her. When I pull up in pet paradises driveway she does circles in the seat. She loves visiting and staying with them! My dog is like family to me and I have read horror stories about different pet places. It gives me relief that when I drop her off she runs away and doesn't look back! Larry is also the best with grooming her. She HATES getting her nails trimmed. I have watched Larry trim her nails and she licks him! I've taken her to several places for nail trim and most can not even finish her nail trim because she moves around and refuses to cooperate. If you are looking for a groomer or someone to watch your fur baby this is the place! I don't ever worry about her being mistreated or not getting enough attention when I drop her off.
