Great dog groomers located in North Park. We took our dog, Cush, walking around NP when we stumbled upon this neighborhood dog groomers. We were last minute but they were able to take him in. Cush was a bit shy when we dropped him off to get cleaned and groomed. We were so impressed when we picked him up and he was happy and handsome! Thank you so much for taking care of Cush. Love love love this place for cat grooming and nail trims. The owner is so kind and friendly and you can tell they truly love what they do. The grooming process is very thorough with brushing, washing and drying his fur and tending to his undercoat while still being efficient so the animal isn't stressed for longer than they need to be. I've started bringing him in for regular nail trims too which only take 5min. I am so happy I found this place for my cat truly such amazing service! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This was my second awful experience here, and it will absolutely be my last. Twice now, I've brought my dog in for a schnauzer cut, and both times they've shaved him completely instead. Instead of taking the time and care to properly groom him, they take the easy way out and claim his coat is "too tangled." That's not grooming--that's laziness. What makes this worse is today's appointment. I had a 10:30am slot, and at 10:20 they called to say they had overbooked and couldn't take me--after instructing me to medicate my dog with comfort meds to help him through grooming. Because of their mistake, he spent nearly 12 hours sedated for no reason at all. That's not just unprofessional--it's harmful. When I finally picked him up, he was shaved down once again, and I was charged $95 for a service I never asked for. This business does not respect pets, their health, or their owners' time. Please don't put your animal through what mine endured. Go somewhere that truly cares. read more

I absolutely loveeee it here! I got my first cat 3 years ago now. His name is Butters and we had a horrible experience at a previous groomer and I was a little scared to bring Butters to a new groomer. Cesar and his team go ABOVE and beyond for my fur baby. I can tell they treat him so well. They work so quick and efficiently and are always so happy which is a great sign for me :). I would never take Butters to any other groomer again. 10/10! Excellent service and quality! The staff is so nice and follows COVID rules! Pet Palace is clean and the staff wears face masks properly. I dropped off my senior dog for a full grooming and Cesar took great care of him. Cesar did an amazing job and my dog looks ten years younger. I'm so impressed and will be back! Parking can be tough. There is one 15 minute parking spot in front of Pet Palace. Pet Palace is located on a one way street. read more

We love our guy's haircut! He was 2 months post surgery and was getting very shaggy. We also like him to have a shorter coat for the summer We were able to make an appointment 2 days out which was great. And he looks like a little teddy bear! The lines on the haircut are great and it's blended really well. We just moved to CA from another state and I'm so glad we found this place. We have been taking our dogs to pet palace for a couple months now and we have been satisfied every time. The prices are fair for the quality we get. My Aussie has long, curly, luscious fur and it picks everything up. Every time we pick up our dogs, they are soooooo SOFT and our Aussie looks gorgeous. They blow out his hair so perfectly, we love it! Our lab has shorter hair but you can tell how clean he looks because his fur just shines. Both of their furs stay smelling clean for at least a week, depending on the activities they do. The owners are so nice as well, I truly feel comfortable leaving my dogs to get groomed by pet palace. Nothing beats that! It's hard finding a good groomer that treats your pups good and does a good job - I can vouch for pet palace that you will get both good service and a quality groom! I'be been bringing my lil guys here for the past 3 years to get their nail trim, anal glands expression, and ears cleaning and thus far have always been happy with their services, so no complains here. They have always given me feedback when somethings been different than normal, really appreciate that, and always been polite. My feedback would be that "personally" I wish that they kept electronic files w/ info for my visits (I think they only keep it for grooming but not sure) so I could be reminded of how much time frame has gone by since the last visit. Nothing negative on them, just a suggestion, because it is really my responsibility to keep track of that. And maybe a little extra nail filing on the bigger one. Javier and Cesar have always been accommodating to us just walking in and providing services we needed. I have two chihuahua mix doggies and so appreciate the discount I get for bringing them together. Happy to know there's a local business where I can just pop in and out, and get my boys taken care of with love and care. I had to argue with the receptionist about what I want. He kept trying to convince me that my pup should go with the current look. IM THE CUSTOMER! JUST GIVE ME WHAT I WANT!! When i picked up my pup, i noticed when the receptionist went back to get my pup, my pup shrieked and then was brought out. WHAT THE HELL?! the next morning, my pup threw up a lot of yellow stuff and now i find a cut. I wasnt going to write a review about the bad job they did around the paws and they did something to make my pup shriek but when i saw the cut? bump that, these people deserve a bad review. I recently moved to the area and picked this place due to the reviews. While they were friendly and accommodating, getting my dog in same day. However, My dog came back with blood coming out of his face, on both sides he has 2 to 3 inch cuts and the hair around his face is obviously messed up. It's been about a week and his cuts have scabbed pretty badly. I understand mistakes can be made but both sides of his face are cut and it was not mentioned when he was picked up, no apology or anything. read more

New to SD and blindly trusted Google reviews. Seems that was a mistake. Go look at the one-star reviews (which I didn't and wish I had) and they are consistently telling the same story. They shaved my Australian Shepherd down to the skin. I've taken my dog in for grooming every 2 months his entire life and never had a groomer say that this was necessary. He was last groomed December 18th, today is January 31. The groomer didn't even so much as call me to let me know that they thought they needed to shave him completely. To add to that, Aussie's have double coats and should never be shaved - per my vet. When I voiced my concerns they told me that my partner told them to shave Porter. Which did not happen. Then they said lots of Aussie's are shaved and they didn't understand why I was upset. And when I said it was unacceptable how they handled Porter or the situation and asked for a refund, they said they "knew what I was trying to do" and that they "didn't want to talk to me anymore". Not even so much as an apology or any effort to remediate the situation. No, there is nothing to be done about Porter being completely bald now. However, some acknowledgment of how they could have done better, accepting any level of responsibility, a refund, or even a credit (not that I'd take him back after their response) would have been appreciated. However, I was accused of wrongfully asking for a refund and told to kick rocks. There are tons of groomers, take your fur babies somewhere else. read more

I researched so many places in the area and ended up choosing Pet Palace in North Park. I had an amazing experience and want to share why: 1. The facility was clean, bright and full of goodies for your little furry friend! 2. They seemed to take covid precautions very seriously which is so appreciated! 3. The receptionist was warm, friendly and helpful 4. It was my first time taking a dog to get groomed: they were so thorough and patient with me!! It also took around 2.5 hours, which was perfect length for my anxious little girl. 5. My dog was GORGEOUS after! Fluffy, smelled great and all the services performed were perfect. The bows were so so cute too!!! 6. Price was great! 7. We even received a little thank you note from Cesar after. This place is fantastic, I will for sure be returning! I live in LA now but will still have my dog, Maxx, groomed at Pet Palace. Ray and his staff have been so great. I started bringing Maxx here in 2018 and am always happy with the results. They are quick and very thorough, even with Maxxy's high anxiety. After one visit they were kind enough to point out a new skin tag on Maxx that they spotted during the session. This most recent visit, I pointed out his skin tags and they remembered where they were even though Maxx hadn't been in for a visit since last year. Cesar and his team take great care of all the pets that come through their doors. They have implemented safety measures to ensure that you will remain healthy while visiting their shop. My dog is older and a bit shy but she feels comfortable with Cesar and team and always looks amazing. They really do love animals and are in this business to offer great service. We decided today that we wanted to take two of our yorkies in for a cut and I lucked out and was able to make an appointment for the same day. We were extremely worried that because it was last minute and this place was the 6th place I called to take them in, that we were probably going to get subpar service and the cuts were going to be horrible...The team here proved us wrong!! The service was great and they asked me how I wanted the cuts to be for each of my babies and they followed my wishes to T and I'm just super happy with how they turned out! I have taken my dogs to see Caesar for over twenty years. He, and his team (Lee and Javier), are just awesome. I recommend them VERY highly. *** AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!! *** I wish I had the option of less than 1 star. I took my two dogs here for a grooming and they are traumatized! As you can see from other review responses ceaser & his partner are rude and it translates in person. The first visit was with my smaller dog. Afterward, I picked up the little one & dropped him off at home. For some reason he didn't want to eat he seemed down - I thought maybe he just wasn't used to the teeth cleaning. When I took him back the 2nd time my little dog jumped out of my arms & back to the car after seeing where we were going. He is a service animal so this was unusual but I thought it may have been nerves so I left him. They told me my dogs would be ready at a certain time & they finished sooner because there was a cancellation. I said ok, I'm on my way. Be there in 20min. They called me 4 times while En route after already telling them I was on the way. To make matters worse when I got my dogs his partner was very very rude. Both of my pups were ridiculously happy to leave and my bigger dog looked so so sad afterward. ***I DONT KNOW WHAT THEY DID TO MY DOGS BUT I AM NEVER TAKING THEM BACK*** I would avoid this pain entirely and go literally anywhere else. read more

I recommend circling and parking on 10th Ave for less of hassle. Fabiola is fabulous! She was so sweet, caring, attentive, and does an amazing job cutting fur. She doesn't rush each grooming and takes her time for a very quality cut. She also has a Pomeranian which made my experience feeling better because she knew exactly how to cut their fur. We even had conversations about Pomeranians and everything about our dog care life. My Pomeranian looks so beautiful and smelt wonderful when I picked her up. I asked for a trim, clean up the buttox area, and do cut the paws (like cat paws). She also knows how Pom fur is suppose to look like and she rounded out all the areas needed AND brought in the fur around the waist to give my Pomeranian a cinched look. I would say the only thing I had an issue with was logging into the webcam on my phone but seems to work on a computer. Also you can tell they use bleach from the smell but that is a good sign that they keep things sanitary. We picked up two each for the doggos. Two Halloween themed and two ice cream themed, a cone and a bar. When we arrived home the dogs sniffed out the treats right away. Ozzy is a smaller dog with small teeth so we like to break her treats into smaller pieces. Holy crap! The Haloween dog bone cookies were hard as rocks! I had to chop them with a knife and it took some effort! T.J. is a big dog so she had no problem devouring hers. I can't speak to the grooming, but the variety of treats, toys and accessories for pets was impressive. A little on the pricey side, but that is to be expected in this type of bougie pet stor.

Until now, we hadn't had any major issues. Today, we had an appointment specifically for the rabies and parvo vaccines. After we got home, our dog vomited five times in a row. We called the clinic, and they had us come back in, where he was given two more injections to address the side effects. While on the way back, I reviewed the invoice and noticed that four vaccines had been administered, not just the two we had scheduled. When I asked why this wasn't communicated, the response was, "Next time, clarify which vaccines you want when you check in." I had already done that. The appointment was booked for two specific vaccines, and I clearly mentioned both at check-in. I was then told they automatically give all due vaccines unless otherwise instructed. If that's their policy, it was never clearly explained to me and I plan to review our past vaccination records to verify the vaccines were actually due. To top it off, we were charged $82 for the extra shots to counter the side effects caused by their lack of communication, bringing the total cost of today's visit to over $300. This visit left us feeling frustrated and taken advantage of. Lack of transparency, poor communication, and a refusal to take ownership of mistakes cost them our trust and our continued business.

Contacted the owner because I wanted to give them a second chance, Via email. I asked him if they had gotten a guide yet and they said no. I told him that I will buy a guide and bring it in with me it's only $20 on Amazon. I actually did buyit. The owner states he won't be growing my dog but the girl would be happy to show me the different clipper sizes. I told him that was very unusual because I'm not a dog groomer and I don't know what the different clipper sizes mean. Nor can I picture it tried to show it to me on the first day and I'm like I don't get it. Some things I don't get my craps I don't understand that game and people try to teach to me forever. This is like a game of craps with your dog. I'm not going to go back in fact. I'm not going to the very expensive Gabrielle f who is famous on Park avenue because I know they'll take good care of my baby and I'm willing to pay extra money for that. They didn't even call me and discuss or ask to see if i agree to shave my dog. They charged me full price before even let me see my dog. They didn't clean his ears. One ears was longer than the other. Nothing was even on his body too. I said just shorter a little bit not shave him. Omg, guys you don't even nice to your customer why??? I was extremely skeptical if the Pet Palace was a good as most of the reviews stated. Believe me .... IT IS! We brought our two part Persian cats (Halo - female, and Crush - male) for a grooming, and were surprised to see how quickly our kitties (9 months old), warmed up to the groomers. Immediately, they were very calm. This is not the normal situation for our kitties, who tend to be very skittish. For some reason they weren't. When we picked them up, they looked PHENOMENAL! Crush our male got a "lion's cut", and Halo got a modified "lion's cut". We are so happy we brought them to Pet Palace, and will be recommending this place to all our friends. read more

We've been bringing Gus, our golden retriever, to this groomer for years, and we couldn't be happier with the results! Every time we pick him up, he looks absolutely fantastic--always well-groomed, fresh, and happy. It's clear that the groomer has such a great connection with Gus. This place is amazing!! I took my 2 year old blind cat in and they took such good care of him. I was nervous to have him groomed because he has never been before, but the second I handed him over, I knew he would be fine. The people who work here are extremely friendly and love animals. After a minute the very kind young man who takes care of us waved us in, we entered again and he took my dog back. The beautiful woman was still in the front and I said " Hey, I don't appreciate the way you just spoke to us, we had an appointment and have been coming here for a while now" she responded with " This is my place" with a very sharp attitude. I said " Well, that's not the best way to treat a costumer , this will be our last visit." She smiled at me and said " Well we can get your dog now and " something that I can't remember. It's really sad and awful that in this economy and with so many options for grooming in SD that she would choose to treat us like that. Every employee has always been so kind to me and my dog.
