Wife and I had to drive up to Tallahassee (ugh, I know), so we decided to leave our dog with Sandy…read morefor 2 days. My wife had met her previously when she was looking for a canine daycare. We were originally going to drop the pup off at 6 am and then be on our way, however Sandy was nice enough to let us bring our dog the evening before...free of charge. So we pulled up to a nice neighborhood, and in front of Sandy's pleasant home where she conducts her business. We were greeted by a friendly dog by the window. Sandy came out and we handed out dog to her, and said goodbye. No cages btw! Throughout her stay at PAWS, my wife was sent daily pics of our dog, with updates. When we picked our dog up, she was not in hurry to leave PAWS lol. She did stink of other dogs (obviously), but that's nothing a bath won't remedy. Highly recommend.

The first time was when they were 4 months old and she appeased all of our fears leaving our new babies with her. We gave her a routine list for them and she made sure to keep them safe with being so small. Our girl Boston is very picky but she loves coming to hang out with "Auntie Sandy". She knows their food routine, responds to their individual needs and gives us daily updates on how they are doing. It's great to know our Boston's have a safe place to stay when we are not able to take them with us.

They did an amazing job--our pup came home looking and smelling fantastic! You can tell they genuinely love what they do and take great pride in their work. I took my dog in for grooming, as I normally do. However, the person I had specifically requested…read moredid not groom him. I'm not sure if the person who handled him was new, but it was a man I had never dealt with before. When I picked up my dog, he had blood around his eye. The owner cleaned it with a cotton pad and told me that my dog had injured himself. Once I got home, I realized he also had an injury on one of his ears and another injury on his leg. The injury on his leg later opened up and started bleeding. His condition continued to get worse on Sunday, and by Monday I had to take him to the veterinarian. He was prescribed antibiotics, pain medication, and a topical cream for the wound. Since Saturday, my dog has had to wear a cone and take medication because of these injuries. When I went back to the grooming business to request reimbursement for the veterinary expenses, instead of handling the situation professionally, they threatened to call the police. The owner also told me that the man who groomed him wanted to take me to court. In other words, my dog and I were the ones dealing with the consequences of what happened during his grooming appointment, yet somehow they acted as though they were the offended party. Initially, their proposed solution was to send me to a veterinarian in Hialeah, which I declined. During this situation, I was called dishonest and a bad person. They only agreed to reimburse part of the veterinary bill after I asked about their insurance. Businesses that provide grooming services should have insurance to cover accidents like this, which left me wondering whether they actually have appropriate coverage. The veterinary hospital even had to contact them directly and send them photos of my dog's injuries. They also had to change the name on the invoice in order for the grooming business to process the reimbursement, and even after all of that, they only reimbursed part of the bill. This has been an extremely upsetting and disappointing experience. I am sharing the photos taken at the veterinary hospital so others can see what my dog went through. I sincerely hope no one else's pet ever has to experience something like this.
