Finding a new groomer is always an anxious process for us as it's not only important that they do a good job grooming, but also that they offer a friendly and fun environment where our little girl enjoys her beauty sessions. After some extensive searching, my wife discovered Pet's Friend Mobile Grooming. After some Q&A with the owner, we decided to give them a try and are glad we did. Gabriel pulled right up to the front of our house, introduced himself and showed us his setup so we could be at ease, and proceeded to get to work. He left the van door open most of the session so we could always look out our window and see our girl pretty relaxed on the grooming table while Gabriel worked his magic. He spent quite a bit of time on her in the end and definitely did not rush the process. And the end result certainly showed his skill at his craft and attention to detail. We loved his friendliness and professionalism. As well as the sheer convenience of having the groomer come straight to us. The dogs are happy to not go into a new stressful environment and thrilled to get in and get out quickly. Paolo did a wonderful job and his calm energy worked wonders even on nervous Nelly Finnegan. I didn't have to drive across town twice to drop off and pick up. (Gas ain't cheap!) And, I had a very productive day inside while they were outside. Time is valuable! I tried Curly Doodle Dog Grooming last time and they were okay. This is a better use of my time, much less stressful on my kids and it only cost about $25 more total.

We opted for a teddy bear cut, and she came out looking like the most adorable little teddy bear puppy ever! Despite hearing that she was very squirmy throughout the session, especially with the dryer, they still managed to do an amazing job with all the trimming, shaving, and cleaning. We wanted a smaller, hands-on environment where Cleo would be able to socialize with dogs regularly. But also, be consistently observed to avoid things like dogs fighting or worry that they don't have enough water, etc. After a few years of weekly visits, The Barkmont has been a huge help to us. Knowing that we have a reliable daycare spot, Cleo has taken to it as well. She howls with excitement on the way to "school" (as we call it) and comes home pleasantly exhausted. In addition, their overnight services have been excellent and we're never concerned about how she's doing if we have to leave town for an evening. Highly recommend this spot in Berkeley for anyone looking for a dog daycare or boarding place.

She always runs right in when we drop her off and we can tell she has a lot of fun when we watch her on the webcam. Her latest stay was 2.5 weeks and while she was exhausted when we picked her up from playing so much she is very healthy and happy. In situations where our travel plans have delayed us in picking her up, they have always been incredibly kind and understanding. We started adding walks to her long stays so she gets some individual outside time in addition to all day inside playtime. I have nothing but good things to report about the Barkmont and they make being a dog owner in the Bay so much easier. I also think they are just really good people, I heard they now partner with local pet rescues to give their foster dogs some socialization and love. Makes us feel good supporting them.
