The people who work there are very knowledgeable about the products they sell and what is best for your animal.

Do they sell live worms?

Hello John, We do not sell live worms.

How much do they charge for walk- in nail trim?

Hey there! VIP Petcare charges $25 at this time for their walk-in nail trims but is subject to change. If you'd like to find out more about the services they offer and current prices, here's a link to their services and pricing sheet,…

Does the vip pet care require an appointment if I just want to go there to get my dog nail trim, and do they accept walk-ins?

The VIP pet care does not require an appointment to get your dogs nails trimmed. They accept walk-ins. They also do glands, vaccinations and you can even have the vet check your dog out for a fee. It's really nice to have a walk-in clinic. Sometimes…

Is it alright to come in and socialize with the animals up for adoption? I'm unable to adopt currently but would enjoy spending time with them.

I don't believe they have visitation for animals but there are several local organizations where you can work directly with animals up for adoption-try ARF in Walnut Creek-you have to train to become an animal care volunteer but it's a great…

I never felt rushed, and it was clear that he genuinely cared about their well-being. His professionalism, kindness, and expertise made the entire experience a positive one. I typically take my dog to the Petco in Concord for grooming and have always had wonderful…read moreexperiences with the kindest, most professional groomers. We spent a considerable amount of time finding the right groomer for our dog based on pricing, scheduling, location, and grooming style, and we have tried a handful of groomers over time. Not once has anyone ever expressed concerns about her behavior. She has always been described as well-behaved, so this experience was completely unexpected and incredibly disappointing. I called this Petco at the last minute because my usually location did not have availability and I simply needed to get my dog in for a bath. I assumed a basic bath would be straightforward, so I was comfortable giving another location a try. I was told they had availability, and when I dropped her off, I was told the appointment should take approximately an hour and a half. Over two hours later, I finally received a call that she was ready. When I arrived, the groomer who had initially taken my dog back was nowhere other be found. Instead, another groomer assisted me and was immediately rude and dismissive. After I paid, she informed me that my dog's head was still damp and that they had been unable to finish because my dog was supposedly "extremely difficult" throughout the process. When I asked what she meant by difficult, she could not provide a clear explanation of what my dog had actually done. Instead, she told me that if we ever returned, she would refuse to provide services and refer us to a private groomer instead. I was shocked by this response. If my dog was genuinely having difficulties during the grooming process, why was I not contacted while it was occurring? Why was I only informed of these alleged behavioral issues after nearly two hours, when the service was supposedly complete, and why could the groomer not explain specifically what had occurred? I explained that we never received this kind of feedback from any groomer we had used before. The only response I received was that maybe it was more high volume there. When I explained that my dog previously went to Petco in Concord, she said they were just as high volume so that it must just be that the place was new or that they just did not connect with my dog. Neither explanation addressed by concerns or clarified what had actually happened during the appointment. Ultimately, the worst part of the experience was not simply the delay or unfinished drying. It was the lack of communication, the rude and unprofessional attitude, the inability to explain what supposedly went wrong, and the immediate threat to refuse future service without offering any constructive explanation. I understand that grooming can sometimes be challenging, and I would have appreciated an honest conversation if my dog was struggling or if the groomer needed assistance. What I cannot understand is allowing the appointment to continue for so long without contacting me, then treating me with such an attitude when I arrived to pick her up. This experience left me disappointed and concerned about how my dog was handled when I was not there. I have never encountered anything like this with any previous groomers, and I will not ever be returning to this location. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses both the customer service and communication issues, because no customer should be left feeling this uncomfortable after trusting a business with their pet. I wish I had read the other reviews about how horrible the groomers/grooming is here before trusting them with my dog on her birthday.

The past two times I've needed it, I've driven to a a few different places which are super out of my way and they didn't have it. I started doing research of places around my work that had it and that's where Concord Feed came in clutch. I still call ahead of time to make sure they have it but the last two times were amazing.. They were able to put it on hold for me, I came in after work, picked it up to pay and I was out! I will be coming here for the foreseeable future:)

We first got chicks there, and now that we have chickens, turkeys, and sheep, it's our regular spot for feed and supplies we trust. We're also in there a lot picking up things for our dogs and cats, and we've even gotten into their pond plants, which have been a really nice addition. They have a huge selection of brands, and their prices are always reasonable. What really stands out is the staff. It takes a lot to run a feed/tack store and these guys do a wonderful job. I want to give a special shout out to Derek. His customer service is always great, and he really knows what he's talking about. You can tell he actually cares and wants to help you get the right things for your animals. It's just a genuinely solid, dependable place. Highly recommend. A.de.R.

The store itself is also beautifully decorated, with so many cute details that make it a pleasure to browse. We've also visited their location in Marin, which carries a similar selection of lovely products. Definitely one of our dog's favorite shops and a must-visit whenever we're in the area. At this point, stopping by George isn't optional. Our dog makes sure of that.

This shop has a bit of everything for dogs, from good food to harnesses. I like bringing my pup in to get a sniff of everything and lots of pets from patrons (from the front too!). The staff has always been super friendly here with greats recommendations of treats and such. My pup's 10th birthday was recent and I called ahead for a cake. They said they were able to set one aside for me (date set), but if I wanted my pup's name on the cake - I'd have to call to order 2 weeks ahead. I now know that for the future. There was a part of me that as worried my picky pup wouldn't like the cake as it is made with all pet friendly ingredients... but I was very very surprised he loved it so much, especially the frosting! He literally had an orange lip once he pulled his face off the cake finally! It was so quick and easy to run in and pick up the cake I called ahead for. Thank-you so much for the quick service! Final Thoughts: If I need a pup cake again, I'm definitely coming here (letting other pup parents know too!!).

We stopped in last Sunday 8/16 - we spend at least $500 every month or so on supplies - and Kitty 911 was there. There was a huge sign saying "ADOPT ME" on a cage with a little white kitten, so my wife watched the kitten for a while and then asked to hold her. We have been looking for a white kitten. The person she asked must not have liked my wife for some reason, because she snatched the cage away and announced that the kitten was "not available". She seemed to be in a hurry to get it away and said something about "medical issues". I went to talk to her (I didn't get her name, but she is tall and has curly blond hair) and said we were interested in seeing the white cat. She said that it was not available and had multiple medical issues. I asked her what the issues were. She was taken aback and after hesitating, said that she had seen tapeworms at home that morning and that they didn't have any medicine to treat them at the store, so she needed to take it back home. This is despite the fact that there was an open Banfield Pet Hospital literally 100 feet from where we were standing, who undoubtedly had deworming meds in stock. Also, why would you bring in a kitten with tapeworms to an event like this when a single flea might pass it along to the other cats? This was all just gaslighting. We are usually happy to see Kitty 911 and we even adopted a Russian Blue from them at this PetSmart a few years ago. I really don't understand why this one person was so angry and rude to my wife, but she certainly made us both feel very unwelcome. I think that the manager at this location might want to reconsider having Kitty 911 on site if they are making their best customers consider if they want to return, or at least interview the people that show up and interact with PetSmart customers.
