We strongly DO NOT recommend Pine Shadows due to the violence we witnessed towards our dogs when we…read moretoured their facility in August 2024 with our child. I have filed a police report, a complaint with the MN Board of Animal Health, and a complaint with the Humane Investigations team with the Animal Humane Society. The Pine Shadows lead trainer violently punched both of our dogs in the head during 2 separate incidents during our tour. He also choked one of our dogs by using the leash to pull one of our dog's feet off the ground. The lead trainer told us we needed to use the "wooden spoon" approach with our dogs and not "love and logic." As a 5'4" female I can keep our dogs under control using positive strategies when they are jumping and barking with excitement. There was absolutely no reason for the Pine Shadows lead trainer to use violence and one of our dogs was violently punched in the head by the lead trainer when the dog was walking over to sniff our other dog. If you have had similar experiences at Pine Shadows, I strongly recommend that you also file a police report and complaint to the agencies listed above.

Everyone was friendly, the service took exactly as long as promised, the groomer was SO kind and understanding and really took the time to go over a game plan for the haircut with me and afterwards at home my puppy was so happy and playful and looked better than I was ever expecting! He was sounding very vicious and nipped at the groomer at least a dozen times. She handled herself like she has done this before and was not freaked out at all even though I was. It made me sad to see my little guy so upset and anxious. Stacy told me to leave and she would check in with me shortly. The next thing I know she sends me a picture of him and he is doing just fine. He has developed an anxiety over people touching him because of a bad vet appointment he had as a puppy. Anyhow the next thing I knew she was done and he was happy and they were friends. I am going to take him back there more often than I need to just so he can have some of her wonderful love. Rusty needs to build some trust and I couldn't think of a better person to help him do that.
