Do not bring your animal to this vet if you want it to live.
My family brought our dog to this vet in April, she was not eating or drinking and barely moving, she also had a very distinct smell on her. They diagnosed her with "dehydration" and allege that they ran tests on her overnight as well as putting her on fluids and observation.
Around 2am they called my mum to tell her our dog was running around and eating and drinking perfectly well. They charged my family $1500 for this "service". When she was picked up, my mum could see no difference in her. My mum questioned them in addition to asking why there were no blood tests run. They said that it isn't standard for them or necessary in this case.
Our dog continued to deteriorate so my mum made an appointment at a different vet - Scarborough Veterinary Surgery. We had also googled her symptoms by this point and believed she had kidney failure.
As soon as our dog was brought to Scarborough Vet she was diagnosed with kidney failure and deemed terminal. She was put down within a few hours of that visit, after we all had a chance to say goodbye.
At best the staff at North Lakes Pet Emergency are incompetent and careless, and at worst they are liars who do the bare minimum for your animal while charging the maximum rate they can.
Not only did they give false reports, mistreat our dog and fail to do the basic tests to form a proper and accurate diagnosis, they also made her suffering worse by putting her on an IV and forcing her failing kidneys to process even more fluids.
North Lakes Pet Emergency, your business is a disgrace and you should all be ashamed of yourselves for taking advantage of pet owners in distress. read more
