Formally The Affordable Vet, this clinic offers exceptional service at a significantly lower cost than most other clinics in the area. I take my puppy dog here for her annual vaccination, it costs $70.00. I have paid up to $140.00 at other clinics over the years, which is double the price. The quality of service is by no means inferior to any other vet I have visited, in fact this is one of the best vets I have used over the years which is why I have been a loyal customer now for over three years. The clinic, in addition to veterinary care, offers a variety of other services including puppy pre-school, grooming services, health clinics and $5 hydro-baths on weekends, they also have a pet taxi available for house calls - so cute!

Instead of the usual cajoling and dragging while they put the brakes on, my dog is busting to get inside! Once in she is always warmly greeted like an old pal by the front staff -sometimes even given a little treat much to our delight! This veterinary practice feels so caring and inviting I'm sure any anxiety the owners or pets could possibly feel, disappears immediately. In the past I have bought a dog in after being mauled and although it was a very touch or go situation, in the expert care of Dr Meredith the difficult surgery was a success and my faithful boy made a full recovery. He was cared for expertly through out his whole life by Wilston Vet and they were marvellous and compassionate till the end. Happily my new pup is also under their expert care. I always feel I can be guided by them in any situation with any advice needed. I have recommended Wilston Vet to friends in the past who have remarked how much they like it there too. I write this review to help guide anyone who is looking for a beautiful practice with skilled veterinarians who will provide expert care for your pet when needed.

Their prices are competitive with others however the warm smiles you get in entering their nice clean shop, you know that this is more than a vet surgery, its a community of pet lovers and professionals. The friendly staff went out of their way to explain to me all the health requirements needed for my new puppy without any expectation of joining. This was also reinforced a week later when I dropped past and the friendly staff provided me with some well needed answers and relief prior to picking up my puppy. I have since selected Wilston Vet as my vet for my puppy, Napoleon and have loved coming in for our check-ups and vaccinations.

What a truly terrible experience I had here. Can't say much about the vet himself, but the admin…read morestaff especially the manager are horrible. We recently moved to St Lucia from interstate and needed to fill a prescription for our cat when I called the vet to organise this they got me to have my previous vet send across my cats medical history and they would call me when the medication was in stock. Almost a week later I called up chasing the medication only to be told that they always have it in stock but I could not get it because the vet was not taking new animals and he needed to see my cat before giving it to him. Now you would think that because I wasn't told this they would just say look, we can do it this once but you'll need to find another vet, but no, the manager just made excuse after excuse, blaming covid and their 17 year old nephew who was filling in on that day (like you wouldn't think to give the kid answering the phone a heads up that you aren't taking new clients? Kid if you read this, I'm sorry the adults in your life threw you under the bus and then tried to get you to call and apologise, this was their fault not yours). The manager, or anyone else there did not think to maybe called when they saw the email with my cats medical history to let me know that I needed to sort something else out, instead my cat has run out of medication. The manager told me that all vets stock this type of medication but good luck getting an appointment due to covid (which then, again, leaves you asking well can't you just sort it this one time since this is your mistake). I made one phone call and got an appointment the following day. I really hope this vet cares more for animals and has better service for customers than his admin staff because they are shocking, especially the manager, who I'd say would have been let go a long time ago had it not been a family business. I wish I could rate it zero stars

We are pedigree kitten and puppy breeders and have been using this particular vet for many years and have always found that Paul explains what is wrong with your animal in a down to earth way and offers several options for care. He doesn't believe in expensive unnecessary tests but of course will offer them if he believes they're needed. His vet nurse Monica is always helpful on the phone or in person. Initially Paul can seem a bit eccentric, but after getting to know him and visa versa he a warm and generous person. Being a breeder of pedigree kittens and puppies we need to have a great vet and Paul definitely fits the bill. THE BELOW IS NOT SO MUCH REVIEW BUT SOME INFO ON HIS CARING NATURE. We had used Paul for a few years but lost track of him when he closed and moved his practice from a nearby suburb. Luckily we came across him again a couple of years later when frantically trying to find a vet open on a Sunday, we had an extremely sickly 2 week old puppy. Even though he wasn't actually open he was there checking on the animals and amazingly answered the phone. Paul got us to come to the surgery straight away so he could attend to the sick puppy and he literally saved the puppies life, and he wasn't even supposed to be working.

Here, however, I felt that the vet in charge, a nice man named Paul, really does care for each animal. He didn't try to get us to buy anything expensive but rather told us what was available and the cheaper brands he thought worked well. My cousin who also has a dog lives in Indooroopilly has made this her go to vet because she loves the attention. The office is not at all flashy and the consultation room is simplistic so you might not think much of it but the service is impeccable. When compared to other vets out there this one is quite affordable. The flea shot for our dog cost around $30 less than another vet we had originally gone to. What's also great about this place is that you can call Paul and he'll answer your questions (with patience) and give advice. He also follows up to make sure everything is fine, which is great for any doubts or uncertainties you may have. I think this is a great place that really looks out for your pets.

Having moved to the area, the faithful pooch's care was recently transferred to Mitchelton Vets mostly due the their proximity. On the two occasions I've taken our dog here, the team have been helpful, on-time and affordable. They'll even send your pet insurance claim on to your provider on your behalf.

I was reassured and happy, and a little surpised that a simple quick consult was $40 worth. Would certainly take a dog or cat there if I had them.
