I want to briefly acknowledge that we once had very positive experiences at this clinic. When Dani was on staff, Pet Degree provided compassionate end-of-life care for our dog Max and life-saving emergency care for Bugsy years earlier. Because of that history, I trusted this practice deeply. That trust is why what followed with Bugsy has been so devastating. Bugsy's decline began when he started bleeding from his left nostril during a walk. From that point on, his condition progressively worsened. At his first visit, he was treated for a tick bite that had occurred seven years earlier, despite bloodwork showing all negative results. As symptoms persisted, my concern and panic grew. Over the following months, Pet Degree performed diagnostics, including bloodwork, a swab, and X-rays. Those X-rays showed concerning findings, including a mass consistent with a tumor, bone loss, and a tooth positioned within the nasal cavity. However, these results were not fully acknowledged, confirmed, or acted upon at the time in a way that reflected their seriousness. It was only later, after continuing to seek help and ultimately reaching a fourth veterinarian and specialist, that those same findings were clearly identified, confirmed, and explained to us. I was then told that, based on Bugsy's symptoms and the imaging already performed, a scope should have been done from the beginning. Instead, we continued down a path of additional medications and delays. During this time, Bugsy underwent dental treatment and surgery that later specialists indicated were unnecessary and ultimately accelerated his decline, shortening the time we had left with him. (Not by Pet Degree but it led us here.) The prolonged delays, repeated visits, and misdirected treatments caused significant financial strain that could have been avoided. After five months of mounting expenses, our funds were depleted and I was forced to start a fundraiser simply to continue trying to get Bugsy help. Communication during this period was deeply lacking. Emails went unanswered and calls were not returned. At one point, I was told I could return medications when I received my order to Pet Degree, which another veterinarian later confirmed in writing is not allowed for safety and liability reasons. In that moment, compassion felt absent, again. Pricing transparency was also concerning. While I understand veterinary markups, I was charged $53 for a single box of Yunnan Baiyao, a supplement available directly from the manufacturer for about $49 for five boxes, when I was told I could not purchase it from them directly but I did. Most difficult of all, Pet Degree has never reached out to check on Bugsy and does not know he passed away. There was no follow-up or acknowledgment despite our long history with the practice. This review is not written out of anger, but out of grief and responsibility. Bugsy deserved timely interpretation of testing, clear communication, and compassion. I can't say enough about the doctors and staff at Pet Degree. My cat Baby had ulcers on her right which Dr. R helped us get rid of and Dr. Josh was exceptional when Baby developed tumors in her lungs. While the outcome was sad the doctors and staff were overwhelming kind to Baby and me. I would highly recommend Pet Degree for pet care. If I ever adopt another pet I will take her to Pet Degree without reserve. read more

I have given this vet one star because Dr Josh was very friendly and tried to help. However, the problems outweighed his expertise. It was very difficult to reach someone and my calls were NEVER returned. I asked several times to have my dog's records sent to her primary vet and it was not done. While the staff was friendly, they were disorganize. One day I was there and a dog from the day care was let out into the common area without a leash. I cannot recommend this vet. read more

The staff are knowledgeable and kind, but the service is terrible. This is not the staff's fault. The owner understaffs the place, and instead of hiring full-time reception staff, insists that the vet techs constantly run back and forth between caring for animals and answering the phone. The result is that one almost never reaches a human when they call Pet Degree, and miscommunications/failures to communicate between customers and veterinary staff are a regular occurrence. To Dr. Josh: trained full-time reception staff are not optional. Hire them. Let the vet techs do their jobs. A failure to communicate can be detrimental to our pets' health. read more

I have only met with Dr. Josh two or three times, the first time he canceled so he could meet instead with some salesman. each time after that he has been very commanding of the conversation with little room for me to interject. Rather condescending as well. The most recent time he was a half an hour late and did not apologize, did not even acknowledge it, just started talking immediately when he walked in the room. He tells you what he wants to tell you and then he leaves. I was referred there because apparently his dad /is an amazing vet. The staff are great and seem to try to compensate for him, but That's not good enough. He needs to do better. I have left the practice. read more

First of all I would like to say that we took our dog to pet degree she had health complications but they seem to have it where she was comfortable and recovering after having IV for 5 hours no sooner than two days go by she lost 4 lb of her 10 lb that she had and we have to put her to sleep two days later after the doctor told us she was doing very well at the time even though she still had health conditions I highly recommend not to anybody go there unless they're tired of their pet this doctor as far as I'm concerned was very unprofessional and did not tell us anything about her near future thank you very much for reading my comment* read more

It is now going on three weeks, and Pet Degree still has not returned my several phone calls or reached out to me thru email. When you call, they never answer the phone. You are instructed to leave a message which I did, as well as email them my concerns. I'm beside myself. I must go to social media to maybe get your attention. On I 5/18/22, I took my Weinheimer there with a bleeding, swollen paw. He was in the woods the day prior and returned limping. They examined his paw, gave him blood tests and x-rays, and sent him home with antibiotics, pain medication, and a paw that was still bleeding, saying he had a sprain. The bill came to $600.00. A few days later, I removed a 2" x 7/16" (no exaggeration) piece of wood from where the paw had been bleeding. It was embedded in the paw just under the skin, easily felt, and could be seen where it was bleeding. At this point, I sent an e-mail with pictures explaining everything and asked for a response by e-mail or phone. There should be no reason you can't get back to me unless you have no answers. They did get back on 6/9/2022, almost a month later. But who's counting. telling me this is normal procedure, no apology, no refund for unnecessary test, nothing, have a nice day, oh and by the way, this sounds like you have financial problems. What a slap in the face. I never gave a review before, but this is unacceptable. read more

I recently had to come to the unfortunate decision to let my best friend and one of the loves of my life go after 11 years of bonding, love and just unconditional affection. My Olivia was my first cat in my adulthood that I took care of and loved unconditionally. After taking her to her original vet and hearing their tactless and less than comforting way of informing me she had developed a mass on her heart with fluid around her lungs and there was no way to gauge if it was cancerous or not due to its location, it was a heartbreaking blow to me. A friend had found Dr Reynders after keeping in contact and informed her of what was going on and she was Olivia's original doctor and took care of her for many years prior. I asked if she wound mind taking a second look at her as I trusted her opinion and I finally knew what vet she now works with. In previous appointments she was detailed and went over every possible scenario and what she felt was important first and then went down a Checklist which I loved and it gave me the ability to see what I could afford and what I would be needing later on. This time was no different she looked over what was done and added more tests without being terribly invasive to my BabyGirl Olivia and making her stressed out ,her staff went above and beyond making Oliva and I comfortable as well. Dr Reynders understood my stance on wanting to be completely loving and humane with Olivia and not allowing her to suffer and gave me 100% honestly and guided me with what was necessary and what she felt could be helpful to narrow down causes and keep Olivia as comfortable as possible and healthy. Unfortunately Olivia's health spiraled downhill so quickly and she went from eating and functional to barely moving , hiding all the time and not eating at all within an matter of days. I had to make the heartbreaking decision to let my baby go because her breathing was not well due to more fluid build up in her chest. A few days later Dr Reynders contacted me and gave her condolences and informed me of test results that were pending which she did not have to do. Those test results and her kind words helped me feel at peace with my decision to let Olivia go because she would not have been able to be cured and she would have eventually needed another chest tap ( this would have been a 3rd chest tap) and would have suffered which is what I did not want. The staff at pet degree and Dr. Reynders were beyond amazing through every visit. In 11 years Olivia was never sick and never took medication and this was the first time she had been ill and in the 3 weeks she spiraled they made sure they were able to help in any way possible. Which I truly appreciated more than they know. When I am ready for a new partner in crime they will always be my go to Vet office and Dr Reynders is a superb veterinarian who shows true compassion and professionalism without making you feel like it's all about money and service add ons. All of the staff I have had the pleasure of meeting at Pet Degree show they love their job and that is honestly what will make me tell people to take their pets there and keep me as a loyal client when I am ready for my new pet. read more

I would not suggest Pet Degree to anybody, We ended up wasting $350 and had a sick cat for a week because we couldn't get more medication due to the office not being responsive, here's the story. We brought our cat in for a sick visit because she had been throwing up, proceeded to have Dr. Josh tell us his main concern was pancreatitis, so he proceeded to order us to do blood work that cost us $350. He called us and stated she did not have pancreatitis and we had to keep giving her the medicine and she should get better. We then were prescribed medicine and we ran out of it quickly and attempted to call and the doc was unavailable for 5 days and we couldn't get more so our cat was throwing up constantly. The staff we spoke with stated they couldn't advise us on anything and that for the next 5 days we just had to wait and watch her suffer. On the day he was supposed to call us we heard nothing, and i had to call the next day for them to tell me the doc wouldn't be in for 2 more days. So we called a new doc and got an appointment and they informed us that the blood work that was done did not show results of a pancreatitis check and that we had to do another but this one was specifically to check for that disease and was only $60. So Dr Josh told us our cat didn't have pancreatitis when the results didn't show anything, it was a huge waste of money. He never considered hairball or anything like the new vet discussed with us and was unreachable for a week while our cat had no medication. So Dr Josh had us do expensive blood work that didn't check for the main concern he had. I would not suggest anybody to them as they charge a ton of money for things that may not even test for the actual concern, and the staff doesn't leave messages when you ask them too and become unreachable for a week. read more

They are really good with the animals and give personal attenetion Their groomer is THE BEST. Lisa does a fantastic job and treats the dogs like they were her own. I came here for a basic manners type training class for my dog. Judy was the trainer and I thought the class was fantastic. I highly recommend coming here for training! My Cat, Elvis recently stayed at Pet Degree for 7 days during the month of November and I actually feel that he had a great time. I am extremely disappointed with the grooming my dog has gotten from their place. This was the second time we used their grooming, first time was great nothing was said afterwards when picking up and my dog looked good. We dropped her off today and my pup needed a grooming badly. The staff was being a little rude and bitchy this morning and basically said my dog broke her table leg when we were here last time -which was never told to us or mentioned. My pup was there all day and i got a call that she was ready and basically was told that It took three people to do her grooming today and she might need to be sedated next time because of the situation. Took three people - she should be more groomed then in this situation but she's not. Which also i do not want my dog to be sedated just for a grooming. For the amount of money we paid for her to have the grooming it does not really look like she was even done. They were rude at pick up and basically told us It was our faults and we were never told anything. We will probably not be using their grooming ever again. I am deeply offended by the treatment that I received at this establishment on 4/18/18 from Courtney Miller. This does not reflect the business this is only a review towards courtney. I showed up for my first session of the playgroup and was denied to come after I had already paid due to the dog they brought out acting up and growling at my dog. The other dog also pawed my dogs face. Courtney then blamed it on my dog who never growls and is harmless and made this judgement based off of a less than 10 second encounter. We socialize our dog very well, we take him to Knox farm every Sunday even in the winter and we wanted to try out this place. I am very disappointed by the treatment to me and my dog. It's a great pool and perfect for what interests my dog which is jumping in and swimming after the ball. Rinse & repeat. He can do it for hours at a time. It never gets old. The staff was very friendly/knowledgeable, and even took initiative to remove some dogs that were in crates barking (Boarding clients, I assume) so we could enjoy our swim in peace. I didn't even ask for this as it wasn't really bothering us. I was informed that weekends are their busiest times and weeknights are usually easier to book short notice. They have a membership which provides discounts on services (Training & Hospital), 1 free play group per month, 1 free nail trim per month, first dibs on pool reservations, and discount on Pool rentals when purchased in bulk. (3 sessions for $99 or 10 for $315) As it is, we are not members and the fee is $45/half hour session. One of the only places left in Western New York for indoor access to a pool for my dog! I couldn't find a place and our usual option had gotten rid of their pool but referred me here. The process was SUPER easy. Go to https://petdegree.com/ ; Click "Get Started" and register/login to their site. Then select "swim times" from the menu on the next page and choose pool rental from the drop down. Once you select a date with an available rental just check-out like any other online transaction. When we got there they were expecting us and once I filed our rabies/distemper vaccination paperwork we were off to the pool. We'll definitely go back! Give them a try.
