My Thank You Thursday is going out to Camp Bow Wow West Seneca! My family got a puppy over the summer, a golden retriever named Henry! He's a ball of energy and we were looking for the perfect place for him to play and socialize with other dogs. Camp Bow Wow is that place! Every day when we wake Henry up he cries and goes for his leash, we know it's because he wants to go play with his friends at Camp Bow Wow The camp counselors are so kind and attentive to all of the dogs they have at the center for the day. Every day they do a different activity with the dogs like bubbles, tunnels, squeaky sounds, etc. It's cute to know that they have different things planned for them each day. I also love Camp Bow Wow because they have live web cams so you can watch your pup play throughout the day. It makes long days at work a little more tolerable because I can watch Henry play with his friends! I can't speak highly enough about Camp Bow Wow. My dog Cody loves camp he always has a great time here! I love that they have cameras to check on your dog playing during the day. The staff here are very friendly and they really like our dog and are always very excited to see him when we bring him. We left our dog for a few days when we had our daughters wedding and what a great relief and service they provide here. The staff are all friendly and very dog friendly. The camp is clean and the dogs all seem fine together and while it looks overwhelming to us its not to the staff. We had our dog Shamrock groomed at the end for pick up and thats a big plus and worth the cost. When we picked him up they noted he was a bit anxious but it was his first time and thats his natural state. A typical Maltese personality I guess. But we will be using them again this week as we are downstate for a sudden funeral and will need to have him place for a few days. What a relief that this place exists and is so good. We love Camp Bow Wow in West Seneca. We recently started bringing our dog Loki here after having multiple negative experiences at Dog Days of Buffalo. The staff are attentive, and knew Loki by name seemingly after the first visit. It is super warming to walk through the door and have them say "Hi Miss Loki!" The facilities are awesome as well. I love that there are webcams so I can monitor throughout the day and see that Loki is having a great time and playing. The boarding facilities are super cute; we took a tour before bringing Loki to daycare for the first time and will definitely be bringing Loki for boarding the next time we take a long vacation. They have everything you could ask for... safe and clean facilities. They even showed us the washer and dryer and told us how often everything is cleaned. I can not recommend Camp Bow Wow in West Seneca highly enough. And I can assure you, I am not affiliated with them in any regard, just an extremely satisfied customer! read more

To reiterate ..a fantastic experience for both dog and dog parent. JD doesn't visit as much as he did mostly because my daughter moved out of the immediate area and JD will disconnect my shoulder if I try and drive him to Camp Bow Wow. This organization is great in that they care about the dogs who visit and those who overnight. My cousin now takes her Basset Hounds and they too love the attention and the interaction with other pups! Seriously, if you are anywhere near Camp Bow Wow don't even think about boarding/play dating elsewhere. This is where it's happening! read more

My german shephard, Murphy loves it here! He stays whenever we go away for a weekend or week long trip. Everyone is very nice and knowledgeable of dogs and animal behavior. When Murphy comes home, he has had so much exercise and fun that he is tired for at least a few days. And a tired dog is a good dog!! read more

I am so disheartened to feel compelled enough to write this but after our horrendous experience today I'm sad to say camp bow wow is just another dog doaycare you can absolutely put on the no list when looking for somewhere you trust in taking care of your beloved dog. We've heard horror stories of other places but thought we hit the jackpot with camp bow wow and put full faith into them until today. Our bulldog has been going there for awhile, we only do half days considering the breed and all that comes with it and truly they've always previously done a good job of catering to his needs in that regard so Im actually shocked with todays events. Their AC broke today...which is understandable, things happen. Though on pick up they claimed they were "just" about to call me, the air conditioner "just" broke....My dog was panting like he ran a 100 yard dash, guzzled down 4 bowls of water and was seriously unwell and uncomfortable, for a long time post pick up. There is no logical way he could've gotten that bad, that hot, that overworked so quickly if what they were telling me was accurate and true. We are used to him reacting to heat and getting worked up playing but this was unlike anything we've ever seen of him. To spare the details of what they did right and wrong there was plenty of things I can think of that could've changed the outcome including actually calling me before it got so incredibly bad and being upfront but unfortunately there's just no justifying what occurred. I left a message stating I needed to know what went on and the first person to respond was completely responsible and understanding. The second, being a "manager" Allison, was so inappropriate and unprofessional completely escalating the situation with no ability to even listen, literally cutting me off not letting me respond and screaming at me. All it took was a compassionate person to put themselves in my shoes and even a sprinkle of customer service to diffuse the situation but I am at a loss for words for both what physically occurred to my dog and for what treatment I got as a result. Truly discouraging, such a shame. read more

Tobey LOVES going to camp. Everyone is excited to see us when we walk in the door. They are kind to him and are attentive to his needs. He stayed for 10 days most recently and I couldn't have been happier for him! I was able to check in on him through the apps video feed and when I called in the ask how he was -- they cheerfully shared an update. When I picked him up I got a report card -- too cute! I appreciate that I can bring his bed and blanket and favorite toy for the small comforts of home. read more

My puppy Cody comes to Camp Bow Wow in West Seneca a couple days a week. He absolutely loves it there. As soon as I get him out of the car he can't wait to get inside. It's so nice that they greet him by his first name, they truly seem to enjoy being with all the dogs. I especially love watching my puppy playing with all his new friends. We've been taking our senior chocolate lab here for about 4 years for overnight care. We feel very confident in the care she receives as Sidney needs daily breaks in her cabin and medications due to past surgeries and arthritis. The staff is always warm and welcoming and we never worry when leaving our dog in their care. When we used to leave her at the previous kennel she would shake and not want to go back to with the attendants. At Camp Bow Wow she is not afraid and seems happy to be there. The camper cams are a nice added touch to be able to watch your pup while away! The also have an outside area as well. read more

My dogs and I loved this place when it first opened. I never had an issue until they became more popular and then started overbooking and overfilling their facility. They are NOT staffed for the amount of dogs they take in; in fact that is the biggest complaint from previous employees. Wednesdays especially, because they are cheaper days, they are PACKED. My dog was bit there, my friend's dog was bit there; dog's are biting and acting out because the place is overcrowded and the minimum wage employees do not know ANYTHING about animal behavior in order to correct and avoid biting. Will go somewhere that cares more about the animal's comfort instead of MONEY. read more

It was very easy to get my dog signed up and everyone there has been friendly and easy to deal with. I have taken my dog, who is a five-month-old lab, to the camp twice. The first time was for his interview day, which was free and they allowed him to stay all day at no charge. My dog had a blast and seemed like he wanted to stay. I then took him for an over night stay when my family and I took and overnight vacation. Signing him up and bringing him in was very easy and my child loved watching him on the cameras from out computer in the hotel room. Overall my experience has been great with Camp Bow Wow. read more

A few places turned my dog theo away due to his breed without even giving him a chance. Your company gave theo a chance and now is apart of camp bow wow and socializing with other dogs. I love how much energy he burns off and he loves play time with other animals. I can not thank you enough for giving us the chance. Very disappointed in this company. We brought our almost 2 year old dog to two separate 15 minute interviews as they call it and she did well at first untill she was introduced to several more wonderful dogs all at the same time and wanting to check her out. Needless to say she was nervous, tail between her legs. Needles to say she was turned down. Lilley was not and is not aggressive by any means and did not shy away into a corner. I watched the interview on the TV screen in the waiting area and according to the employee she said Lilley started nipping at the other dogs which is totall BS, I watched the whole thing. You can't expect a newbe to adjust to let's say 6 - 8 dogs all at once in two 15 minute sessions. Of course I am for employe safety but you can't expect to know a dog in 15 minutes. Very curious on what type of training the employees actually have. I'm sure the employer / manager gave it's employees more than a 15 minute interview. Agravated on how it was handled. I took my dogs here on a regular basis for years. They loved going and I felt comfortable leaving them with the staff there for daycare. However the last time one dog was there he was asked not to return because he allegedly snapped at some of the younger puppies while playing (no one was hurt). Older dogs and young puppies should be kept separate as they obviously have different energy levels and play styles, and I'm concerned there's not enough staff on busy days to adequately monitor the dogs. On the day that took place I was watching the cameras and noticed how many dogs were crammed in the room, and only 1 staff member was there to watch them all (and if that person is inside, they can't watch the dogs who are in the outside area or vice a versa). After years of going there without issue, it put me in a difficult position because we were relying on them for boarding. Also I was always a bit uncomfortable with the fact that there is no staff present during overnight boarding and the cameras are off so you can't see your dog in his sleeping area. I was assured there are alarm/sprinkler systems but if a dog were to suffer some type of medical emergency overnight no one is there to help. read more

I usually go to the Tonawanda location for boarding, but went to West Seneca recently when we were heading south on a weekend away--so convenient to have two locations to choose from based on where we're headed! My husband and I are ALWAYS pleased with the service our little Diego receives from Camp Bow Wow! We know that while away, he will always be very well taken care of. We enjoy having the ability to view him on the active webcams throughout his stay there. When we call you check in on him and see how's he's adjusting and doing, he stuff don't respond with just, "He's good." They take time to go check on him and ask other staff that have been involved in his daily routine and see if there's any concerns. The staff at Camp Bow Wow are excellent and friendly. Over the past 40 years of owning dogs I have used a lot of boarding kennels but this appears to be one of the best. Their policies and practices seemed focused solely on keeping the dogs in their care safe and happy, and making the use of their facility as convenient as possible for their customers. I was introduced to this fantastic establishment by a friend who didn't feel comfortable taking care of my hyper chocolate lab! I brought my 1 year old puppy here and he had the most amazing time! We had to board him for 5 day and when we picked him up the councelors only had wonderful things to say! I started bringing him in weekly while my husband was away at work and it was a huge burden taken off of our shoulders! My puppy Willy also was enrolled in the training programs they have and has shown amazing improvement. He was a jumper, like most labs at a year old. He now is so polite and has learned so much! I absolutely love the staff because they know the pups and give reports every time I show up. My baby is just like his daddy, sometimes he needs time outs! They love all the dogs that come in and treat them like their own. I have paid for all of the services including the paw treatments they provide! I owe this place so much and my Willy will be a life long camper! Thank you ladies and gents for loving my baby just as much as I do! read more
