There was not enough time to read them thoroughly which made me uncomfortable right out the gate. I got called back to the same finance g sounds good al that I met with during my initial visit. She told me we could move forward with the process once I was finished filling out the last minute paperwork. Paperwork finished, this employee asks me for my license and credit card. I inquired as to why. She stated that I would be billed monthly. I reminded her that I was paying cash. She pulls up info on two different computer screens. She gave me a total that was exactly $50 more than the initial quote. I told her that her new quote did not match the quote on my paperwork from my first visit. She explained that their computer system was having issues working out percentages and numbers and that since it was her fault, she would throw in tooth whitening but I still had to pay the extra $50. For customer service sake, that alleged $50 should have been absorbed by this establishment. Now, I'm completely uncomfortable and red flags are going off. I told her I was going to search for a different orthodontist and she was perfectly fine with me walking. I do not know how effective this establishment is with regard to orthodontia because I did not end up retaining them.

However, I was only given $75 off, with no explanation as to why the advertised $500 discount was not honored. I was also promised an additional $139 off whitening, but that discount was later denied because of an issue with my contract. When I went in for my second appointment on September 10, 2026, at approximately 2:30 PM, I brought my original contract with me. Gisela scanned the contract into the system and returned the original document to me. She then rudely told me that I would not receive the $139 whitening discount because I had not submitted the contract in time. This makes absolutely no sense to me. I signed all of my paperwork on July 30, 2026, when I initially started my treatment. I was then told that the summer promotion had expired and could no longer be applied. How is that my fault when I had already signed everything and provided the required paperwork? If the documents were not properly scanned or entered into the system at the time, that should not be my responsibility. I should not be penalized for an administrative error on the office's end. I also asked Gisela for clarification regarding the initial $300 payment I made and how it was being applied toward my total treatment cost. Instead of simply providing me with a clear breakdown, she responded by saying that the $300 was not a down payment on an apartment that I would get back at the end of treatment. This response was completely unnecessary and condescending. I was not asking for my $300 back. I simply wanted a straightforward breakdown of where my money was being applied and how it was reflected in my total balance. Overall, this experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Between the lost contract, the failure to honor the discounts I was promised, and the rude way my questions and concerns were handled, I feel that I have been treated very poorly as a customer. I sincerely regret choosing this place for my treatment and wish I had gone somewhere else.

But when the waiting room is full of kids, there aren't enough arcade games for everyone, and you are sitting anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour past your appointment time waiting to be called, it completely overshadows all the good about this place. There often aren't enough seats for people to sit leaving many families standing or leaning against the walls. I myself had to sit at the kids table that they have in the lobby just to get off my feet for a second after standing for over 30 minutes. And the craziest thing is a few times, I have been asked to reschedule things because of what they "didn't have time for" despite my appointment being scheduled by them months in advance. I'm sorry, but if I've already had to rearrange my schedule because you're running behind, we're doing this TODAY. The audacity! And this isn't a one off experience, this happens every single time I have an appointment. I have began to just anticipate canceling any other things that I have planned because I always end up being ridiculously late. Trying to get the kids to school after the appointment? Probably not! When I show up, they tell me it's gonna be another 30 minute wait. I then don't get seen until 12. Then on top of that It's about 12:30 at this point And they ask if I would like to get my cavities filled and teeth cleaned today? I said yes and they told me they will have the office manager, come talk to me about my insurance and what it will cover. I she gave me all the quotes and I told her I don't want the special care treatment and I said " well I don't want anything that my insurance doesn't cover" Then they replied well that's $400 out-of-pocket .So after about 5 to 10 minutes of me, trying to figure out why my insurance does not cover normal cleaning They finally said yes $400 is for the special care treatment. They said "you can brush and scrape off all The buildup, but without the special treatment, it's Useless." So I said that's fine. I just need the cleaning. I don't want the special stuff. The response I got was " OK oh well, it's up to you. It's your mouth and teeth". She is very easy to talk to, did not judge me for not being to the dentist for 9 years. She didn't try to "up-sell" me on services. She just offered information. Once we settled on a plan of action, the billing person came back and went over all the information clearly and also did not attempt to pressure me into spending my kiddo's college fund on my mouth. Then the actual work began...I needed drilling done...YIKES! Dr. Sherpa brought out The Needle...if ya know, ya know...to numb my gums. That thing looks like a medieval torture device! However, again, Dr. Sherpa knew what she was doing, and I actually didn't feel it much at all. She got right to work and fixed me up. I was on my way within two hours and was as good as new! She and her staff did such a great job that I have already scheduled follow-up appointments for polishing and cleaning. That may sound like a normal thing, but again...I hated going, so me, it is a very big deal! Despite regular visits, two cavities under my bridge were never identified. These were only discovered after I developed gum swelling and pain and was referred to an endodontist, who informed me the tooth could not be saved. When I notified BrightNow, the office manager initially said they would help with the costs. However, after seeing their once‑a‑month oral surgeon, I was told they could not perform the procedure due to my medical condition and their facility limitations. After that, the communication changed--no referral, no follow‑up, and no assistance. I was told I would be responsible for all costs. After weeks of waiting for them to "check with their director," the final answer was still no. My new dental provider later confirmed that there were actually two cavities under the bridge that had gone undiagnosed for years. I have also made repeated attempts to obtain my dental records, but the office has not responded. It raises a serious question: why go to the dentist regularly for preventive care--just like we do with healthcare providers--if significant issues aren't identified or addressed? My experience raises concerns about MISSED DIAGNOSES, LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY, and POOR COMMUNICATION. But I do brush twice a day and have not had a cavity since I was 14. So, I do take care of my OH very well. After all I am an RDA/OA, and graduated from a foreign Dental School.
